10.Massive Prehistoric Mammal
9.Ghost Snake
8.Size Matters
7.Stone Forest
6.Fossa (FAH-suh)
It’s one of the few predators native to Madagascar … but is it a dog, a cat … or what, exactly? Experts say that despite the doglike snout and the feline bodies, the critters are actually part of the mongoose family. Fossas are nocturnal animals that eat reptiles and birds … but they especially have a taste for lemurs …more than half of their diet consists of these primates. Adults can weigh up to 19 pounds and measure around 6.5 feet long from snout to the tip of their tail … although the tail can be almost as long as their body! The long tails make their incredibly agile, allowing them to easily swing from branch to branch.
5.Giraffe Weevil
You can likely guess how this strange looking insect got is name … the elongated neck makes it look like something straight out of a sci-fi movie. And its other physical characteristics, including long legs and smaller body, make it look like an odd version of its much larger namesake. Unlike the giraffe, the insect doesn’t use its neck primarily for foraging food. Necks of the males are up to three times longer than the females … and the guys use them in combat as they fight over prospective mates. With their bodies covered with a distinctive crimson shell, they give off a fierce appearance … but they’re harmless to humans. Did you know the giraffe weevil wasn’t discovered until 2008?
4.Flat Tailed Geckos
These reptiles have a reputation as masters of camouflage. Just take a look at the picture of this Satanic Leaf Tailed Gecko. It, along with other various species of flat tailed geckos can seemingly fold their body into the shape of a leaf, and mimic that appearance. They can also mimic the appearance of tree bark. Along with the ability to change their coloration and other body modifications, the geckos can blend into its native tropical environment in Madagascar, and evade predators. The Satanic Flat Tailed variety gets their name because some of the animals have red eyes and have horn-like protuberances. Did you know that geckos are so adept at their disguises that new species and subspecies are still being discovered even today?
3.Darwin’s Bark Spiders
Spider-Man is known to spin a web any size out of super-tough fibers that he created. But Spidey may have some competition from a real-life counterpart. Darwin’s Bark Spiders are a newly discovered species of orb weaver spider found in Madagascar … and one of their webs suspended over a river measured some 80 feet … making it the world’s biggest spider web! Not only that … experts say the webs are spun out of silk that could be stronger than Kevlar … making it the world’s toughest known biological material! Researchers say the spiders constructing these monster webs are almost exclusively female … and use them to primarily feed on smaller insects like dragonflies. For spinning a web so huge, the spiders themselves are relatively minute … females measure less than an inch!
2.Aye Aye
Well, this critter is probably the poster primate for Madagascar … and we’ve featured it before on Epic Wildlife. The Aye Aye is well known for its bizarre appearance … and is a lemur that is found only in Madagascar -- not surprising since that’s the only place you can find lemurs. But here’s a couple of things you might not know about the animals. While bats use echolocation … so do Aye Ayes. In fact, they’re the only primates known to use echolocation to find their prey. They use their long middle finger to tap on trees, then listen for wood boring insect larvae within. Once located, the primate uses that long finger to dig the larvae out of the tree. And the critters have demonstrated a taste for alcohol. A study revealed that when offered a choice of alcoholic or nonalcoholic drinks, the animals will almost always choose the booze. Could that help explain their bizarre appearance?
Epic Wildlife, I always get an education from your videos. Great job, thanks.
If I was walking around in the wilderness and saw a spider web that big, I would probably have a stroke.
Would you use lube?

epic wildlife is always epic! always great!
For people still don't think that humans can effect the planet - the destruction of life and habitat in Madagascar is one of the worst ever.
Split Second Cows ,sheep , pigs and chicken are not endangered there bread and eaten for a purpose. Animals in Madagascar however are Criticality endangered and serve no use to us there for making it stupid and unnecessary.

LOL. Dah la topic pasal telur Lemur besar.
very interesting video & educational to
Most of it is not factual but it is intriguing
That stone forest is so sharp that the entire area is barely explored or studied at all. It's supposed to have a lot of unique creatures and plants living there, but we know hardly anything about the area.
i'm not going to write a 44 paged damn long story about this, but i surely appreciate your vids man!
I can't decide if the Aye Aye lemur looks like a regular lemur that's been dead for 2 week, or like the Tim Burton version of a lemur.
Hi subscribed I like your shark videos
Mom: So what did you learn today at the science fair. Kid: I learned that Sifaka Lemurs live in Madagascar. Mom: What was the first part of that name again? Kid: SIFAKA! Mom: Oh I thought you said something else?
Fox Mulder I get the joke
Rip Alex, Marty, Gloria and melman
you should use videos of the animals and less random pictures.
FreeDoom Creep it often brings copyright issues and requires alot of work figuring out which videos are allowed.
As long as the pictures are of the said topic I don't mind so much.
If he used pictures by searching on Google won't that bring copyright issues?
The spiny topography of the "Stone Forest" is known as Karst, named for the German name of the limestone plateau near Trieste. The Stone Forest is a particularly striking example, but Karst topography is seen all over the world.
I like that half-dog-half-cat mammal.
You guys will allways be welcome to Madagascar. Come to visit our country, you will never regret it
man i would love to have one of them #6 Fossa
Hi epic wildlife! I want you to know that I am a huge fan of this channel (I also subscribe). I would like to request for throw back Thursday, the top 10 longest animals ever.
I'm making a request

Crazy Experiments Subbed, looks interesting.
That ring tailed mongoose looked like a human to me
Lol Yes! I was looking for this comment! Hoped I wasn't the only one that caught that...
Why in the fuck are you even giving them alcohol? lmao
Where did you get that giraffe weevils were only discovered 11 years ago? I distinctly remember seeing pictures of them as a kid, and Wikipedia says they were described as early as the 1800s, so I'm wondering what gives you the impression they're a recent discovery. Maybe there was a new species discovered that recently, but there definitely were giraffe weevils known long before that.
I love this channel!! it makes me want to study animals more and more each day!!💚 keep the episodes coming!😉✌
Marty.... Alex.... Martyyyy
I can hang with the aye aye anyday. I choose alcoholic beverages all the time to lol
More beer sir....aye aye
hey epic wildlife just wanna know I'm Aussie n Iv got a question how come u have a different type of accent? where are you from? just wanna know thanks hope you get back on me about that cheers mate
If like me, you don't like spiders spray a diluted vinegar solution around house and outside to repel them I know they are beneficial to gardens but they can hang around my neighbors gardens instead I no longer find them 'hanging' near my house
When I watch one of your videos for the first time, it was Wednesday😂😂
9:02 he said here's my middle finger
If I had a video of my top ten KZhead channels you would be Number one
I was trying to work out the narrator's accent.. Then I realized Its an American voice trying to sound Australian Im Australian MATE & thats no Aussie accent. Duped folks.
Yeah, you are right. It's a little off putting. With that said though, most Americans can't even do another type of American accent let alone an Aussie accent so, pretty good.
Steve Evans New Zealand
Actually I think you'll find he is an Aussie that has been living in the US. I have a friend that sounds just like this and yes, I am Australian.
Q_QuestionsStuff lol and your wrong
Aussie too here and I agree. Very forced at times almost like an American trying to put on a Croc Dundee accent. It's definitely faked and not authentic. The stress on the vowels is too forced and when says foreign words he really struggles at finding an authentic way to say it. Maybe to non Aussies it sounds fine but if you're native Aus you can tell because no one sounds like this.
ARSENIO HALL!!! lol
I'm terrified of creepy crawlers
what a strange places and many weirds creatures 😎
4:54 THE FUSAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!! *King Julian voice kmsl
I love how they show dinosaurs with pine trees. Since dinosaurs don't walk the earth anymore it's a safe bet that the trees back then didn't resemble any tree of today. All I'm saying is they should get a little more creative when they show these representations of what it must have looked liked back then
Pine trees are more ancient than deciduous trees. So are ferns and ginkgos. That's why they always show them with dinosaurs.
Aye Aye
Nice video, however there are plenty of errors in it.. I'm a naturalist that did 18 years of expeditions into the wildlife of madagascar. I still live here, If u want to take out the errors, let me know, and I explain.
Smiling at how randomly Najib Razak, the Prime Minister of Malaysia just randomly appeared at 3:25. Lol
Awesome
I figure the eye eye almost always chooses alcoholic beverages more often because if it fruit it'll probably be around the time it is fermented
lol just found out this video was made on my bday
The giraffe necked weevil was described by Jekel in 1860 and the pygmy mouse lemur by Peters in 1852.
I've been here since Madagascar came out.
Do one on the animals from the Solomon Islands
So since that SilverHairApe is here, i think we all can guess where the dissapearing plane landed
4:00 "and are razor sharp." *next photo people climbing them*

Ah on #6, you forgot to mention the rare Bats@#t crazy Biologist you caught in your photos 😁
i think that fusa u said is a combination of a cat and dog
3:24 lol najib
The taste of the baobab fruits is not that nice, but those trees are huge, had quite a few on our property in South Africa
zobomafoo! only some people will remember that show 4:20

4:00 Blade's Edge Mountains IRL?
4:12 what's with the ppl on the rocks dressed in all white?? 😂
Callum Gaw those a lemurs bruh
please do more hard candy cotton candy maker videos
You say the Sydney funnel web kills in 15 minutes. So what good is an antidote? I would think it would take at least 30 minutes to get someone to a hospital.
I hate non-relative scenes(random pictures)!
Isn't the Banana spider's silk stronger than steel? Is Kevlar stronger than steel?
CannedPsycho I think he said "strongest biological"✌
oh, sorry for being a ⑨
Keep into consideration that there is a difference between stronger and harder.
The baobab trees once stood in a dense tropical forest, but the population of people grew so was cleared... why do people destroy everything in their paths?
