Finally someone who made car video advising that best mod is MAINTENANCE!!! 🙌 Everyone wants noise and rims, but pay no attention to oil, coolant, and basic engine wear and tear. Great vid 👌
I LOVE how you kept it real and said the first mod should be maintenance. Everyone wants to jump in and make the car faster as soon as possible. Ive fell victim to this. I bought my dream muscle car, a 84 monte carlo and couldnt wait to take it out and drive it. I did a oil change and checked the tranny fluid (while it was off) and i took it out hot rodding it, and the tranny was slipping because it really didnt have the sufficient fluid level. so i was revving my engine a little harder to try and limp it home and blew the engine as well.

@siemenssx1 An old car can be bought for much cheaper. It's already devalued. A new car will just lose value over time, much more than a used car will. Resale value is higher but so is the loss in value. Also not necessarily a better ride either. Modern tech and better fuel mileage, yes. Hondas have a decent resale value but so does Lexus.

One often overlooked mod IMO is oem sized 2piece floating rotors. The IS350 already comes with stock 4 piston caliper Big Brake Kit and large 330mm stock rotors. The only problem is the stock rotors are heavy 24 pounds each. 2 piece rotors with aluminium hats are much lighter around 12 pounds each. Switching to 2 piece rotors immediately takes off 24 pounds of unsprung weight from the front of the IS350, improving braking and most importantly, ride and handling, all without even touching your springs and shock absorbers or chassis.
Can you do that with a 2014 IS 350 F sport?

I used to have second gen IS ( unfortunately with diesel engine ) and itnwas great. Mine was 2012 model and it had bluetooth module in it from factory which allows to play music from your phone.

Just bought a 09 IS250 yesterday and this video is just what I needed!
the is250 is never gonna be powerful but if you focus on cutting weight and tuning the suspension....it will feel like a totally different car. i believe the recipe for the 2IS 250/350 is exhaust, drop in filter,rr tune, coilovers, front/rear sway bar, and LCA bushings/mounts
@@gparton85 what are you yapping about …. You can safely get this car up to 400+ whp Pick one up for 15k with less than 75k miles - with 5k into the engine at 20k you have a very reliable fast and good looking car Supercharger- tune and more work here and there throughout the years
@@davidcazares2469 400 whp from a 250 is wishful thinking. Yes these cars can be found at a reasonable price. And yes, they can be modified as little or as much as you like, but the turbo kit alone is typically in the $5000 to $7,000 range and that's not including any supporting mods. The 250 can be made fun to drive and even be called quick at times but there simply is no replacement for displacement. Anybody with a brain is going to say that 20k would be better spent picking up a 350

My favorite one is the 7400rpm OV tune for sure. That's the one I've enjoyed most so far. Following that I'd say invidia midpipe combined with manzo exhaust even though manzo exhaust makes the car still kind of quiet.

@senorbonbon RR racing won't give you any power gains just the advantage of a higher limiter that will help with longer gears. I've been custom tuned to rev to 7600rpm with burbles for 2 years and haven't had an issue yet.

Bought my used 2014 IS350 F-sport about 3 years ago. I've had alot of cars, but must say these IS's are just all around great cars. Just does everything well, enough power, good ride, reliable, easy to drive..etc. They are worth a look if you're interested in one. Peace!
@Casper Gomez no mods..only thing I've changed were the front brake pads to Akebono. Stock F-Sport pads only last 20k and are super dusty.
Damn I sold my white 2014 is 350 f sport 3 years ago I loved that car and as soon as I sold it rr racing came out with the is 350 super charger kit .

Great video! I have an is250 and was thinking about putting in a cold air intake but from what I've heard the placement sucks in hot air and can affect performance also I live in Australia and its hot most year around. Can you please give me some advice
Thanks! The factory box is technically already a cold air intake due to its design and induction points. You can replace the air filter, air intake tube/pipe and even drill an additional intake hole on the box like I did in a video of mine. That would be better than an aftermarket intake and would still get the cold air :)

I really like the VLand, MOSTPLUS Tail Light. I only see it for the IS 250 - IS 350. Do they make one for IS 250C? The Convertible one Tail Light is using a different style of Tail Light.

Do they make a good aftermarket shifter for the is250 manual? The stock shifters are decent at best!

It does... Both have the same engine except the 350 is bigger displacement, different injectors, ecu tune etc. Look up on youtube. They sound almost identical

Mr. Marty im in mexico and have had my lexus here for 6 months and plan to ceapit here.. My question is what shocks or struts do u recomend for the horibale roads here... Lots of pot holes and speed bumps and dirt raods.. I drive slow but still the town i live in roads are terrible

Rusty battery earth point needs removing, wire brush on drill to clean up, copper grease before refit. Replace all brake pins front and rear because they seize / warp / bad rubber after 100k. ABS sensor cables can fail not the sensor, check for voltage first. make sure the oil filter cap has a metal tube attached inside, They can come loose, end up in the old filter and in the bin by mistake. This will make the new filter squash and twist causing low oil pressure. Check the steering wheel down shaft UJ pinch bolts are fully tight and pinched together (above where your feet go drivers side.) They come loose making wheel play. Always reset SAS / torque sensor after wheel alignment or it will feel odd (Electronic steering)

Next upgrade is taking off the ISF duck tail and replacing it with the Clinch duck tail on my 07 IS250. The tail sit higher, adds more flares, aggressiveness and looks better than the ISF duck tail in my opinion.

noticed the pa plate, any issues with emissions with any of these upgrades? I live in pa but I've traded in cars so frequently that I haven't ever went to get inspection.

You forgot sway bars, if yours doesn’t come with the F-Sport ones. Big improvement.

Remove the sliver trim next to your gear shifter, few clips and screws and the whole centre console (cup holder to disc player) then remove the plastic parts and just wrap it with any 3M backed wrap of your choice... I did mine in carbon fiber

I have a question for anyone who knows. For an 07 I.S-250, is there any newer lexus door panels and dashboard that won't melt from the heat? Yea, I wanna get rid of the defective crap that they're known for. Is there any that will fit the 07 250?

Thanks! Really? I have had zero issues unlike other adapters. I would check the physical connection, and also the phone’s Bluetooth version if Android, or even other Aux sources 🤔 if all of those are solid, it may be tome to contact their customer support

Why don't you see many convertibles suped up? Is it bc they're too heavy, I have a 2012 IS350c and cannot find a spoilerd trunk lid for it..., I want to get it to at least 400hp. Any recommendations you can help me with?

The hole mimics the F-Sport box design by creating an extra induction hole, mostly for sound.
