In the summer of 2020, Liverpool will move in to their stunning new £50 million training complex. Inside the state-of-the-art facility in Kirkby, eight miles from Liverpool city centre, the attention to detail is typical of Jurgen Klopp, the head coach who has restored the club to the pinnacle of European football and put them on the brink of a first league title for 30 years.

I don’t like this set up for sports facility. He’s alienating academy players that are currently with the team and when they want to recruit top talents this can be a bad think and might put off players to go to other top academies as they would offer to train with first team or use same facilities.

Salzburg is great at building players, because they invest huge amounts into the development and scouting. No wonder that Liverpool went there to see their facilities.

Im nearly 50, and I remember being shocked when Trevor Francis joined Notts Forrest for a million. Even Ian Rush only cost Juventus about 3 million...jeez what would a Rushie cost these days?
football and sport in general grew so much with social media especially in revenues. people all over the world can now admire teams from the other side of the globe. it's normal now to see people travelling across continents to see live games (increasing tourism, so not only sport but economic in general). teams now have more visibility, they sell merch, stadium tickets etc. and this result in more audience which means more money for brands such nike, adidas that now are living part of sports providing funds for teams and sponsorships for players and athletes especially those who brings a lot of new customers (cristiano ronaldo, messi, neymar, lebron, curry etc..) and so increasing their sales. it's a domino effect started by a small growth of social media to a big a result of a massive traffic of money. nowadays clubs are richer, players cost more and sports play huge part in a country economy and this is only the tip of the iceberg of how social media affected sport and entertainment. the power of money

In a few weeks time they will be confirmed as Prem Champions, and at that time they will hold : The Champions League, Premier League, European Super Cup, and World Club Championship .... The most most elite trophies they could possibly win ... They have reached the top of the mountain, now it's about staying there and continuing this incredible transformation.
