  • I actually had a school lockdown on the last day of school. It was last year but I remember it so clearly because of how scared everyone was. I was in 3rd period talking to some classmates and doing a history project when it happened. We hadn’t had a lockdown drill that year from what I remember but everyone was super confused when our teacher got serious. He told us all to sit in the farthest corner of the classroom away from the door and windows and to shut down our phones. Then he grabbed a paddle like weapon and stood near the door as if waiting to hit someone one. It was at that point that the class was like “oh shit this is real, there’s a shooter in our school”. We all proceeded to panic quietly because we couldn’t make any sounds. My teacher tried to help by telling us that if the shooter gets in hell attack them and we could escape out the windows but that just made people more anxious. Some kids tried to make some jokes to lighten the mood but the air was still tense. We couldn’t have access to our phones so no outside communication with family or friends. One of the classmates I was next to got really upset that she couldn’t contact her mom and she was trying to keep herself from having a panic attack. This made the rest of us upset because we all thought that this is it. The last conversation we had with anyone who was isn’t this room was really going to be the last conversation. Everyone was just super sad and wanted to text some last words in case we didn’t make it out of the school alive. Eventually after a while, our teacher let us have our phones so we could calm ourselves. All of our phones had been blowing up at this point. News of the shooter had reached our parents and they were trying to see if we were ok. Some parents even tried calling but since most of our phones were shut down and we couldn’t access them we couldn’t answer. My mom was super worried and my sister was trying to check in on me as well. My sister was in the cafeteria when the lockdown happened and had to hide in the freezer with some other kids. I also found out that police au’s surround our school and their was even a helicopter flying overhead. Eventually the lockdown ended and parents were demanding to pick up their kids. That didn’t go too well either. When my mom picked us up she said it was total chaos in the carpool lane. Parents were getting anxious to pick up their kids but the teachers insisted that they stay inside their cars since the shooter was still on the loose. One parent got out of their car to walk to the door demanding their child and eventually everyone started getting out of their cars to wait outside for their kids. The teachers were doing their best but it was still chaos. It turns out that their was a shooter at Optimus park which was located almost exactly behind our school. We went into lockdown because the shooter was so close. I went home early that day with my sister and our mom bought us some comfort food and drinks on the way home. My sister and I curled up in our beds and watched shows the rest of the day. It was pretty terrifying but I’m glad the shooter wasn’t actually in our building.

  • once in my school when i was in sixth grade, we were instructed by local police to “secure the building” (that is very different from a lockdown, it just means that outside doors are locked, and all outdoor activities are cancelled. it usually happens when there’s police activity in the area, like a robbery, and they don’t want anyone to try and hide in the schools). they aren’t allowed to tell us what was going on, not even the teachers, so we didn’t have a clue about what was going on. just a bit later, at the WORST TIME POSSIBLE (when we were switching classes), the intercom went on instructing us to lockdown. the hallways were pure chaos, and everyone including me were running to get in a room, thankfully, i was able to get to a random classroom, and i hid against the wall behind a table. the teacher turned off the lights, locked the door, and started barricading it. we were in lockdown for maybe 10-20 minutes before the intercom went on for an “all clear” announcement. we’re not really sure what happened, all we know is that there was something going on at the high school across the street :/

    • that same situation happened last year when I was in 7th grade. there was an armed guy at the burger king next to the highschool so both middle and high schoolers were on lockdown. later the guy tried to enter into the FRONT DOOR of the highschool to hide and pose as a student when there were armed police men there (he was also in his late 40's). but that situation was exactly like that

  • Boy do I have a story to tell you: So when I was in 5th grade me and my friends were doing our work when someone shouts “there’s a bmw parked at the school”. All we see is a man in all black with a gun running the opposite way of our school leaving his broken car in front of the school. His car was broken and ripped, our whole classed was in fear. A few seconds later a new car was driving and hit the shooters car. The woman was a mother who had a child in her car. As a smart child I shouted “every body in lockdown” surprisingly everyone listened. Every one was under there desk our supply teacher didn’t understand I guess so we all told her to hide. Later we found out the shooter stole the bmw and got in a car crash. Soon he got caught 3 days later and the woman sadly past away. Idk why the school didn’t go to lockdown especially when the shooter was almost went in our school. It was so stupid we had to go in lockdown our self but anyways I still remember that day.

  • Man, your story reminds me of a lockdown I experienced. It happened when I was in 8th grade during my 3rd period class. I was bored out of my mind as I had already finished my work for that day and couldn’t wait to get home and draw or watch KZhead. Suddenly, the speaker awoke with my Principal telling everyone that a lockdown was happening and it was real. My teacher (Ms. L) immediately rushed to lock and secure the door while the class started to freak out about it. My teacher turned off the lights, closed all blinds, and told everyone to be very quiet. I was obviously freaked the hell out because I didn’t know what was happening and it was made worse because my usually kind and fun teacher was acting serious and a little scared. I eventually got texts from my brothers who at this point were in high school asking me if I was okay. This is when they informed me that there was a report of a school shooter in my school with a gun and all other schools close my school were told to lockdown. I was so scared but immediately started planning on what to get to defend myself in case the shooter managed to break into my class (if you wanted to know my plan, it was to get the fire extinguisher which was right near where I sat and spray the shooter in the face so I could potentially hit him in the head to knock him out). Eventually (about an hour later) the lockdown ended and it was revealed that 3 8th graders were playing a prank by lying about there being a school shooter. They were obviously expelled and I ended up being fine. Still messed up that I had that extreme fear of dying even though I was a child and shouldn’t fear death while I’m in school. :(

    • I'm so glad that you were okay. There was a nationwide threat sent to schools when I had a lockdown. Our lockdown was in the morning. I had just gotten to school and was at my locker when everyone was told to go straight to class. At first I thought somebody was actually in the building. I'm happy that it was just a threat, but it was really scary. Sometimes it's too hard to tell the difference between the truth and lies.

  • I've never been in a lockdown, thankfully, but I did have similar experiences during my first year at college. I lived in a dorm room at the time, and for a period, it seemed like the fire alarm was CONSTANTLY going off - and every time it did, we all had to evacuate the dorm. It always happened at night, and it was ALWAYS a false alarm - always. Either that, or a prank. One time, I was in the bathroom when some guys came in, lit a damp paper towel on fire, so it just half-smoldered, and put it in the garbage can - I can only assume to set off the alarm. It didn't work that time, but it must have worked plenty of other times, and it was an absolute pain, because you had to drop whatever else you were doing, and just stand around in the freezing cold, listening to the alarm wailing, until the fire department came and gave us the all-clear. I miss some things about my time at college, but I sure don't miss that.

  • This happened to our school. I wasn't even at school yet, at the bus stop, and the bus was late, when we saw the high school bus (they already got picked up) come by and drop the kids off. We were so confused. Then my friend got a bunch of texts from her friends saying "school is cancelled!" or "theres a bomb threat!" and we were all pretty freaked out. Both of my friends ran home and I followed. My mom had to go pick up my sisters, and my sister thought her friend ran back into the building. They werent even told what was happening, school hadn't started yet and they were in the cafeteria eating breakfast when the announcements came on saying "evacuate, evacuate, evacuate," and they were escorted outside. Such a scary thing for a bunch of elementary school kids. The whole thing was a hoax, and it was an anonymous call that prevented the whole district from going to school for a day or two. It was really scary. I thought my friends were going to die..

  • As a european, it's always fascinatingly scary to hear about all those lockdowns and such in the US, as here we barely have even heard of any (.. sadly doesn't mean there aren't any though). I can imagine how terrifying a genuine Lockdown must be feeling.. my friends and I have sometimes talked about such a possibility, but only like twice or so.. To keep it short, fascinating (and a little funny) story.. but can't lie- also sad that US children have to possibly face such things.. during a normal school day. Glad I haven't experienced one here! 😐 Good luck to y'all and stay safe! ☺

  • My school once had a real lockdown that was MOSTLY an overreaction. So, what happened was, there was a shoot off between several guys somewhere in between my school and another school, then while one of the younger grades was having recess, the guy ran up the steps next to my school (my school was on a plateau and the only ways to get there were down a giant hill, or up the steps from the city below) he was armed, WHILE THERE WERE 4th GRADERS HAVING RECESS! The school panicked, police ushered everyone inside, and went into lockdown. For me, minding my own buissness in my ELA class, no idea what was going on, it was pretty scary. I remember the intercom going "Shelter in place" (get everyone inside and lock outside doors, but otherwise continue as normal) "Whatever the semi-lockdown was" (Get everyone into their classrooms, close the blinds, and lock windows and doors, but continue otherwise as normal), and then FULL LOCK DOWN. We all hid under the table in the corner, and I remember being strangely calm and just comforting my friend who was crying. (We were in 5th grade at the time) Only afterward did I realize how scared I should have been. I assumed it was a school shooting, so I should have been more scared, but I wasn't. And it wasn't until the next day that the teachers told us what actually happened. Many kids didn't come to school for a week out of fear. (Btw, the police caught all the guys)

The first was in elementary school, where we were told to wait in our classrooms for a good chunk of the day because someone wrote on the mirror in the boy's restroom “I have a bomb” in soap. I don’t remember much about it, but I do remember that a canine unit was called and they had them go into every room in the school and let the dogs sniff around. The second time happened in middle school, where early in the day, all of the students were told to wait in their classrooms shortly before we were evacuated to the gym. I’m not too sure what the situation was, but what I do remember is that we spent about half the day waiting in the gym before we were told we could contact our parents to pick us up early. I think both times turned out to be a prank, but in retrospect, I’m lucky that nothing really happened.

  • This actually gives me flashbacks to a lockdown my school had last year. The thing was called right after I got into my home room class. Basically what happened was some ding dong student made a threat and basically the lockdown last almost an hour and a half, which in my schedule is homeroom and first period. At some point mid way through a police officer banged on my class door to send some juniors in cause they were being dumb and were chilling in the hallway during a FREAKING LOCKDOWN! The rest of the day my teachers let us chill because of the terrifying situation, however during lunch I almost had an anxiety attack and had to talk to one of the faculty member who helped me calm down. I remember seniors spreading rumors in my last class of the day that the kid had a firearm and apparently the kids bag needed to be checked and I remember seeing a kid getting taken into the back of a police car and saying to myself “What the heck happened?!?!”. That was easily the most terrifying lockdowns for me and now I always get insanely anxious whenever one happens and get really annoyed whenever some kids mess around and don’t take it seriously when something bad could actually happen

  • I've been through about 3 (all 3 being just threats and nothing actually went down), but I'll skim over the most recent one. One day, we had just gotten dismissed out of band when suddenly the band directors rushed ahead of us and told us to stay inside the room, as allegedly there was someone at the city hall who said they had a bomb strapped to them and were armed. Of course, everybody started freaking out because the city hall for our district was practically next door to the school. Eventually we were let out of the room and proceeded with our day as usual, as it turned out to be false and the guy was arrested about 25 minutes later. (Luckily, the police station is quite literally right around the corner) But because of the threat, a bunch of the band kids, myself included, wondered why we were kept inside the band room, let alone the school at all considering the band room was one of the CLOSEST rooms to the city hall building, with us merely needing to exit the back door and cross the shorter end of the parking lot in order to get to it.

  • I remember when I was in third grade we had a lockdown. Only about a week before it happened we went over what a lockdown was and had a small drill. So when the teacher said to get under our desks we didn’t think much of it. Almost a hour past and everyone is now scared. I am absolutely horrified but the “Class clowns” wouldn’t stop whispering jokes LOUDLY into each others ears. About thirty minutes pass and I hear walking in the halls. The teacher uses paper instead of talking and says it the cops. I am not as scared knowing that the cops are here but I’m still afraid. Soon we hear paws scrambling through the hallways. It was the cops dogs. I am on the verge of crying. Two hours later the teacher gets a call. She answers it and she doesn’t seem as tense. Now my teacher just normally has a loud voice but when she is concerned even louder so when she told us some kid pranked the entire school, police barge into the room. They stop realizing it was her. So basically some kid asked his teacher to go the bathroom, went into the private teachers bathroom, took out his phone, called 911 saying he saw a locker hanging open with a gun in it.

  • Hi! I'm here to share my school lockdown stories. Yes, I said stories. One was a Bomb Threat in Elementary School and my Middle School has this thing call C-SEP and we had a lockdown because of them. Then there was a lockdown that was/wasn't as serious, I'll tak about that one too. Bomb Threat Story So I'm sitting in class, middle of the day, doing my normal schoolwork. Then over the PA systems we hear "We are now in a Code Orange. Please follow your evacuation plans." (Bomb Threat). Everyone looked at the teacher for reassurance that this was fake. But even the teacher looked scared. We all grabbed our things and made our way out of the building. Lots of kids were crying because of how scared we all were. We saw firetrucks and police stationed EVERYWHERE. There was a fire station across from our school so we went there. Now I was a 7-8 year old in this situation. Which meant that my 6-7 year old brother was my immediate thought. I wasn't allowed to look for him on school grounds as we had to follow the evacuation plans. So when we got to the firestation I asked EVERY SINGLE PERSON "Do you know where -my brothers name- is?" A fireman helped me find him. Apparently my brother spoke to the guy and he remembered his name. I saw my brother, hugged him, and we both cried. A lot. We also didn't have phones at this time so we weren't able to call up our mom like most of the other kids were. But it turned out to be a threat and I'm extremely thankful that it was. C-SEP Story So in my school we have something called C-SEP. I don't know how to explain it as I still don't know what it is even though I'm currently in my last year at this school- Anyways C-SEP has a station in the bulding and a seperate building still on school grounds. So around maybe 9:42am in Science on the PA systems we hear "We are now in a Code Red. We are now in a Code Red." We were all decently scared. Like who wouldn't be!? ITS A CODE RED BRO- We all grabbed our phones out of our bags texting our parents and watching tiktok or playing games to make the time go by quicker. We had two students under a table, by their choice, and everyone else was halfway under that table or the bigger/stronger students were kind of blocking it. So turns out a C-SEP kid somehow got his hands on a kn!f3. Now this kid was in the seperate building I spoke about earlier. So we were somewhat safe. They got the kid reppremanded and taken off school grounds. Then everyone went to their next class shooken up so so much. Lockdown that wasn't as serious Now why is this lockdown not as serious as the other two? Well because this was a Code Yellow. This meant we could stay in our seats with the lights on, the door just had to be locked and have a cover on the window. Code Yellow is mainly for medical emergencies if you don't know. And because its mainly for that we all thought a student was having another seziure. Turns out it was far from that. So I'm in my Spanish Class its 1:55pm and we're all getting ready to leave the classroom to go home. Then over the PA system we hear "We are now in a Code Yellow. We are now in a Code Yellow." We were all extremely confused but figured a student was having another seizure. Well turns out that there was a car crash really close to our school and the person who got in the crash had a kn!f3 and I think dr^g5? So bro took off running in our schools direction. So we were put in a Code Yellow. We got out of the code yellow at around 2:47-2:56pm. We're supposed to get out at 2:00pm. But we got to see the car and how messed up it was when leaving the school on the bus so... it became cool?? But yeah! Those are my school lockdown stories! There are probably more I can't remember so sorry lol If you have any questions I can do my best to answer them!!

  • I had 2 separate lockdowns at both my school and my cousin’s school. One for me was somebody being rough around the school, but my cousin? A WORSER fate than me. Having two kids full on brawling in an actual fight which caused a lockdown. But eventually they were disciplined and hopefully, they couldn’t come back to each other. It’s so strange that 2 lockdowns running through my family tree happened at the same time, but we were already safe.

I do not live in the USA where those kinds of things are more common, and actually we don’t practise for them because they never happen here. But I am sorry for anyone who has to deal with these lockdowns, from the video I see they seem pretty terrifying. I hope there comes a proper rule in place so no-one, or a least less people, prank schools like this.

  • I've been through one lockdown. I was in 6th grade and I just remember that when the announcement came over the PA, everyone froze. We were all so scared, as after the string of school shootings that had been happening recently, we thought that was what was happening. Even our teacher looked scared. After around 10 minutes, we were released from the lockdown. I remember that everyone was so confused afterwards, because no one knew what had happened. It turned out it was a glitch in the system, and the recorded message that was supposed to play over the speakers in the event of a real emergency began to play. It was still one of the most terrifying moments of my life, and I'll never forget that day.

On all the times we have had lockdown drills, my classmates literally just talk under the desks the last one we had, we were in the library and the students were talking, laughing and watching movies to the point where our teacher, who I'll call Anglica from ancient magus bride because she kinda reminds me of her, had to tell them to be quiet because we never know if it is a drill or not, so yeah! Luckily, I was in art class, and got to draw while waiting for it to be over. • Only ever had drills at school but I did start having dreams of being in one since 7th. Terrifying. Absolutely terrifying. All got in one way or another or I fled the scene. The first one we were watching the projector for some video so the lights were off. No desks, blinds closed, and everyone I could put a face to was there. The first person shot a bullet through the window to test if someone was in there. It worked since the guy next to me screamed out something before the guy broke through the window and shot him first. I immediately laid down on my stomach and got shot in the arm. Held in a scream as I pretended to be dead. The ones in the back had tried to escape through the door but someone else was there waiting for it to open. So I heard more screaming and shots fired for like 10 seconds (felt like minutes) before it got dead silent. I just kept faking death until I heard them leave and waited a minute or two scared for my life and wondering if anyone else was alive. Then I woke up. Cried and freaked out then watched a video to see how to act in a situation like that. Then started carrying scissors with me everywhere I went.

  • Once when I was a freshmen, we had a lockdown. I took a course in the 8th grade that gave me some 9th grade classes, so once I was in the 9th grade I had to go to the main building from the 9th grade center to take a 10th grade class. It took me a few minutes longer than the passing period to get to this class, but thankfully my teacher was understanding and told me not to worry about that. I wasn't alone in the hall, there were two or three more students in the halls. On my way to my class, the lockdown happened. We didn't hear anything about a drill, so I thought the worst. Thankfully, there was a teacher who was in the halls with us, and told us to follow him. We all ran down the hall, and all I could think was the fact that I was in a HALLWAY, out of all places. I couldn't believe that it really happened to my school, that I was in such a unsafe place, and that I was lucky enough to be near a teacher. Once we got to his classroom, we sat in a corner in the dark for a few moments before the principal made an announcement. Turns out it was a false alarm, they accidently sent out the automatic lockdown announcement when messing with the wiring. 🙄

  • I remember one time a LONG time ago when I was in year 3. I was having a normal day at first until, the speakers in the school were like "Everyone get out of the school! Everyone out the school!", so my teacher lead me and the other people in my class to this oval near the school. My class gets there when some of my classmates and I realise, we haven't ever had an evacuation before, we have had lockdown before, but they were all drills, anyways, we then also realise that never in my life, had the entire school had to do this before. An hour goes past, I start to get worried because I was obviously very young, I stand up with a few of my classmates and we walk to the other classes just standing on the same oval to talk to some of my friends in other classes. 2 hours past, I am getting EXTREMELY concerned and worried. It hits a bit over 2.5 hours and, the principal, who is with all the classes, says to everyone after being in a call that we can go back to class. At first, my classmates and I are confused about it but eventually, my best friend and I overhear some teachers during class in the room next door that the evacuation was from some people in china prank calling the school. They said something like "Hi, we are here to let you know, a bomb is being dropped on you school in around 1 to 2 hours. Please evacuate your school for safety". And thats what the school did until they realised it was a prank. Im pretty sure that the people who did the prank call either got a big fine or maybe even put in jail later on from how insane the prank was.

I was at chorus at the time and I relate to the bathroom thing. Pretty much every girl didn’t even care about the lockdown at that point and they were all begging my teacher to go. • I know I'm seven months late, but I had a lockdown that happened in 7th grade (I'm now a 9th grader). I was heading to Social Studies, which was my last class of the day, when all of a sudden, my principle went on the intercom and mentioned that there were was a lockdown. Without hesitation, I quickly ran to my classroom, then the teacher closed the door, locked it, and put the candy cane on it. Everyone hid behind the classroom while I hid under a desk. A classmate of mine had a whistle, and would use it in case anything went wrong. Around 10 minutes later, the school was good to go. Apparently, there were 2 high school students that entered the school through the gym and ran 6th and 8th grade wings. They eventually left with no weapons, and the police eventually found them and arrested them. After that, I was horrified at what I've witnessed. But I thank God for keeping me unharmed and seeing another day.

I was one of the only students who couldn't stop either whispering or just not staying quiet sometimes, I didn't know how to handle it. • something like this actually kind of happened to me once when it was my senior year of high school and it left me with anxiety. To try my best to explain: I was just normally running down to lunch to get some food cause I wanted to meet up with my friends and eat something. But apparently, while running down the stairs, someone that my whole 12th grade knew said while laughing and looking at his phone that "A school shooter was coming today". And, it had me scared because I had war-flash-backs to my middle school self hiding in the closet no matter a drill or real, I always ended up crying in there. And, well, that same feeling made me dash all the way into the lunch room to my friend, and he said that he got the same message on his phone 12 hours ago, and saying that it was probably a prank. By this point, I heard a couple of other kids in the cafeteria saying something highly similar, and I went to tell one of the deans about it whom I knew from my old summer camp days. He tried helping me calm down and guided me to a nearby teacher to help me explain the whole situation. And afterwards, it took me a couple of months to have me warm back up to the lunch room as I mostly spent my lunch periods in the library afterwards because my fear and anxiety, and it also left me with a fear of random loud noises and being in public areas like malls and supermarkets for a long time because of the fearful incident. Even times where my own friends would prank me about a fake shooting I didn't like (they got the message, it's fine, everyone okay, and nothing happen.) But, seriously, who thinks that it's a good idea to prank someone about something like this? Cause, it's not really that funny. Either way, great job Yoon!!!!

  • For me my lockdown experience was 2 hours long so we were all going to our classes (everyone was in the hallways some even in stairs) when the speaker says lockdown and everyone runs to a different classroom we were all a bit worried because we usually don’t have lockdowns when we are switching classes but we didn’t mind it at first so we were all talking when someone ask “when will the lockdown be over” and then other kids start asking different questions like if it’s false (it mostly always is) how long will it last, etc. so our teacher is like “I don’t know we didn’t have any idea this was going to happen” and I guess to calm our worries down she gives us games and then I ask one of my friends who has a watch what time it is (this all happened at 10:00) and She told me “oh it’s almost 11….”. In my mind I was freaking out while playing uno of course and time goes by and our teacher I’ll call Ms.Rose decided to put a movie on. While part of the people in there were watching the movie one person shouts “Hey a police officer just walked by!” And so we waited and waited we were already halfway through the movie (an estimate of what time it was like 11:45) and I got bored of watching the movie so I just watched my friends play uno after a few minutes I got bored of doing that. I ask one of my bffs that were there if I can use her computer she says yes and the moment I turn it on they say the lockdown was completed. But that was not the end. Everyone in school was making theories of what happened but the main one was that someone had drugs with them and they were selling them in school the second one was that there was a bomb in school. The school never told us what the lockdown was for or even what happened outside the classrooms they stayed queit. And until today we never found out what happened that day (it was a Friday)

You could tell that no one had any experience about what to do. Principal even asked the Sheriff "bomb threat is for tomorrow, do we actually need to evacuate today?".... Sheriff said "Yes, because we are searching everything today, and tomorrow." (I imagine that the Sheriff was thinking that he was just a bit "small town naive" as well...... even 60 year olds can be a bit.... "sheltered" out here. Some people were crying, but my autistic self doesn't exactly understand "self-preservation" or "danger" in general. So I was just annoyed about the whole thing because I had homework that needed turned in. Ended up walking 1/2 mile, IN THE SNOW (very light flurries, but it was still chilly) to the old campus building that is barely used. Has a large gym. If course, this was before cell phones. So the local radio station had to make an announcement that the students were safe and needed to be picked up..... small town, so word spread to everyone in the county rather quickly. My mother picked me and my brother up. My father was at the farm and listened to a "farm radio" station, not the local station. He was horrified at hearing the news because these types of things don't happen in our parts. Sniffer dogs were brought in from over 5hrs away, along with very expensive police experts from the big city......... The county really spared no expense, and rightly so. They caught the idiot, who wanted a ducking 3-day weekend..... seriously. This was also when rumors started about the costs. They let the kid off easy, only expelling him for 180 days. (I was not happy about that, at least fine him a couple thousand dollars, but whatever.)

  • I remember a lockdown drill I had in my senior year of highschool. This was around the time where school shootings were happening frighteningly often, and we didn’t do many drills, so I was pretty terrified. I just kept praying that my friends and brother were ok and that this was just a drill.

  • I’ve kinda experienced one before, but it ended up being a System malfunction. Apparently someone accidentally clicked the lock down button, and we all had to sit and hide. We were all so scared, and some of us even started crying. We even heard bang noises but it was just some whiteboards falling.

  • yup. 1 for bees 1 for a threat (cant remember what the threat was) and 2 for a students behavior, also 2 or 3 drills (just primary school)

  • Fortunately, no I haven’t been in a school lockdown. Funny thing though it reminded me of tornado drills where the entire middle school goes into the eight grade hallway and I had to go into the counselor’s office (I had been there for being depressed lol) and it was awkward and I was trying to avoid her. But also there were so many decorations that if there was an actual tornado I would have gotten a concussion

  • OMG IM SO HAPPY YOU POSTED I WAS SO EXCITED JUST TO HEAR THAT YOU POSTED😭 I had two lockdowns recently and it was surprising. Many people took it as a joke, or didn’t know what was happening but then we heard shots and we all hid. We had to stay for awhile, but we were okay. It was really scary finding out after what it was.

  • I have two experinces. 1. In third grade i was writting in clads when suddenly my teach told us to get under our desks and she ran to close the door, turn off the lights, and close the nlinds. I dont know how lonh that one lasted but turns out it was a student bringing in a science project thru an unlocked back door and a teacher thought they had a weapon. 2. I was in 8th grade math class when we heard on the over speakers to immediately go into lock down this wasnt a drill. I went under my desk quick and hugged my friend. We heard sirens outside and police men talking. We were both so scared because rhis hadnt happened in a while and we heard police sirens. It felt like forever but it was only 9 minutes. Turns out a crack head tried to jump the gate with a pistol but fell and sprinted away. My classroom was the closest to the gate and we didnt have 1 blind due to it being broken. My class would have been the first one targeted

  • When I was in high school, we had someone threaten our school as well, saying they were going to place a bomb in the bathroom and blow the place up during midterms. This was posted on social media under a burner account. No one knew who this was and as someone who didn't and still doesn't have social media, I didn't know anything about it until I got to school. They didn't send us home while they were investigating and they didn't lock the school down (surprisingly) but told us we could call our parents if we wanted. Everyone's standing in the library, calling their parents. I called my mom on my best friend's phone, half in tears, and do you know what she says?! "You'll be fine. Just get through the day. Nothing will happen." That didn't make me feel better in the moment, but what was I supposed to do? Fight her through the phone? No. I just said, "Okay," and then watched as my friends got rides and I had to get through midterms and hoped the school wouldn't explode and that I wouldn't die. Every class I went to, only half of the class was there. All I could do is think, "good for them" and wonder if they would attend my funeral. Good news, I didn't die and the school didn't blow up, just as my mom thought. (Though we still debate on this less than a decade later.) I don't know if it was a prank or not, but I learned later that they found the person, I think they found out that they were actually making bombs (though I could be wrong), and I was shocked to hear it was someone I knew in passing. They were expelled from school, obviously, and I never saw them again. I hope they're doing better.

  • I very well remember going through lockdown drills in elementary school and middle school. In elementary, we had at least one every year, kindergarten through fifth grade. In middle school, I can only remember going through one, during gym class. I don’t remember what grade I was in. Though I do remember some of the kids in my class just casually talking amongst themselves, and our gym teacher had to shut them up at least twice. I was silently taken aback, thinking that they would have given us away in a real lockdown.

  • what a great video !! so glad you made this and that im not alone in these kinds of situations ;; exactly a week ago, our school got a terrorist threat. during 3rd period, somebody was airdropping a picture of a gun to people in school with the message "5th period, arts hallway. im going to kill you all." to say that i was terrified was an understatement, i was the most scared that i had ever been in my life. i have chorus during 5th period in the arts hallway so i was scared as hell and naturally the whole school was too. at lunch everybody knew, and people were sobbing and having panic attacks and calling their parents because everyone wanted to be picked up; nobody wanted to be there in that scenario. an hour later the teachers had heard about it and there were cops at our school. the teachers said that it was nothing to be worried about, but how could they say that when they were as worried as we were and how could they know it wasn't just a rumor? by now half the school had gone home and the people who still were there were panicking. when the fifth period bell rang, my chorus director was telling everyone to go back to your 4th period, don't come here, it's not safe. my mom picked me up just before the school went on hard lockdown. it ended up being a rumor, and the person who started it got arrested. everyone was so thankful that we didn't actually have a school shooting but i swear to fricking god the terror of thinking that you might die today is unimaginable. whoever started that rumor was a piece of sh!t but im so glad it wasnt real
