I love this! “I’m getting covered in ash and all I can see is Edwards big fat bottom” -James great job!
Thanks so much for the comment - really glad you liked this! :D Cheers, Sam :)
I heard that you know
Very cool, thanks for revealing the secrets of James' Accidents. I'd love to do that someday, but I'd need to buy the programs first, which isn't an answer right now. One thing I'm curious about is how you did James' accident without damaging him--or is that one of the secrets you want to keep? If so, that's fine.
haha no problem Patrick - ahh yeah that's true - they do cost the earth! haha the answer is I don't know - it's kudos for the model, having not a scratch after all that abuse! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Ooh, a behind the scenes video!! I absolutley love these types of videos!! I loved the video! And I've just noticed, you have merch now?! I'll have to buy some now!!
Thanks so much Tyson - really glad you like them! Yeah I do - thanks a lot mate, that'd be a lovely way to support the channel, if you wanted to! Enjoy! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)

Hey Kris - that's my pleasure mate, I really love doing them!! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I had no idea this would take so long! Very nice and fun to watch.
Brilliant work Sam. It's the little details you've added (like table shadows on the close up shots of James's face) that make this short film excellent and not just good.
Thanks a lot Alan - haha glad you noticed the shadows - it helped him to blend in a bit better! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Great behind the scenes video Sam keep up the great work.🙂🙂
Thanks a lot Adam - appreciate it mate! :D Cheers, Sam :)

I cannot wait to see the next video that you do, I really hope it's a cooler version than James's Accident (which was really awesome), I hope it goes well. Keep on making more videos like James's Accident.
Hey Sam, Great content again! Do you mind sharing what program you use to make these customs videos? Thanks for your consideration!
Love it! I would love to see more "Behind the Scenes" vids. Even when I watch movies I always have to look at the "Behind the Scenes" section LOL!

Thanks so much mate - really glad you enjoyed this, you're very kind! :D Cheers, Sam :)
Sam'sTrains thank you so much that means a lot and so are you. Not a lot of KZheadrs care to respond back so it shows you care when you do so and I appreciate that.
Excellent behind the scenes video Sam 👍😉
Thanks very much Joe! :D
Very useful idea thanks Sam congrats for the success on the video
My pleasure Lewis - and thanks a lot mate! :D Cheers, Sam :)
Wow you are such a good editor, I’m impressed!

Uploaded two times or not, this is a very good video :)
haha you're very kind! I uploaded it too early by mistake, thus the reupload! ;D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Great video Sam the effects and models look lovely. P.S what model would you recommend, I am starting my collection and wondering what would be best thanks in advance
Thanks a lot mate - really glad you liked these! If you're starting off, maybe a starter set loco is the best way to go - check out my latest video - those are pretty good and robust for starters!! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Also you could have added James's tender at the back of those two flatbeds so that way it looks more accurate so you can actually see James's tender turning
Yay it's here!
Yeeshh! Hope you enjoy! :D
I find it very interesting, Great video Sam.
Thanks very much Adam - glad you enjoyed it mate! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
That was a good video. Nice to find out the way how to do it
Thanks Toad! Glad you enjoyed the secrets! ;D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Excellent video! There sure was a lot of very interesting things you did in that.
Thanks a lot mate - yeah for sure, it definitely was a headache at times! ;D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
It’s cool to see you how to do this, this will probably help me with my Bachmann videos thank you!
Awesome!! Do try some of these yourself (apart from the fire one!!) Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Awesome behind the scenes Sam. But I’m curious, what editing software do you use to make your vids? - Austin. :)
Thanks a lot Austin! You can really use any video editing software to make what I make - there's nothing too specific with them! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Yeah behind the scenes finally!!!
Yes! :D
To think it takes that much time just for only a 8-10 minute video :0 But in the end, very well put together and very enjoyable :) Thanks for the video Sam :D
haha thanks Allen - yeah it was a ridiculous amount of work - but I did enjoy it, I must admit! :D Glad you enjoyed it, Cheers, Sam :)
Hi Sam some really clever stuff there. It was interesting to see how some of the effects were done, well done mate. Dave.
Thanks a lot Dave, really glad you enjoyed seeing those! :D Cheers, Sam :)
Awesome Sam! So funny and hilarious!
haha thanks Ryno! :D
Very interesting. I have recently got into video editing and love it.
Awesome Philip - yeah video editing is an awful lot of fun! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Another great video 😊
Thanks so much mate! :D
@@SamsTrains Your very welcome 😊
james has no a front coupler so how did you get it to double head him with edward you can see a coupling in the first shot of edward and james
Hey Ian - I just glued a temporary coupling on, which did the trick! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
They can be screwed on and off, I have a Bachmann donald
i have a bachman carrige and the coupleings can be screwed of
ian willems I love your profile picture 🚂🚅🚆🚄
*cough* glue *cough* blue tac*cough*
You did a great job mate, looks great! -oskar
Thank you Oskar! :D
Wow great vid Sam I will try to do it my self thanks mate love channel your still my favourite y outuber of all times
Thanks a lot Ryan - ooh awesome, that sounds great!! :D Cheers, Sam :)
This was great! You’re really more talented than you let on. You said this took only a week? You must’ve been working so hard to get that much done so quickly. I’m not nearly as productive as you are. ;) I’d love to see more behind the scenes videos (if they’re not too much work).
Ahh you're very kind mate! Yeah it was a very hellish week - it truly took every hour of every day, haha!! Yeah for sure - I could do more like this soon! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Hi Sam did you do anything to your Bachman Thomas And Friends Locomotives because I see you using your HM2000 controller and was wondering if they work as soon as they are on the tracks or did you put something in the Locos would really help if you reply 😁👍
Hey Lewis - no, these work perfectly on my HM2000 straight out of the packaging! You can add a drop of oil to the moving parts if they don't seem to be going too well! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Awesome video Sam!! I love all of your videos and I've been watching them ever since you literally began unboxing the Hornby Thomas locomotives. Just a question about your awesome James' Accident video. Who voiced Emily? Greetings from Australia!
Thanks so much Joshua, that's lovely to hear - thanks for the support! All engines voiced themselves! ;D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
@@SamsTrains Hahaha whoops haha I forgot that they're from the Island of the "layout" ;). Hehe my bad.
The funny thing is that James’ accident is almost like a behind the scenes video!
Best James's lines: "I'm proving you gordon" "big fat bottom" "my my edward can we still double header" Nice video of behind the scenes of James:)
It was realy good
That even animation was actually good
haha thank you Max! :D
Sam I love your Railway
Yay, another video!
Thanks Sam! :D
This was very interesting to see. I'll have to try some of these effects in my own Thomas series. Maybe not number five though XD Really hope you make another orginal episode like this again
Thanks Alex - I appreciate it mate, good luck with the effects!! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Hi Sam, what happened to James' tender in the runaway scene during the crash. Is there a reason behind that. Many thanks for the good video, bring on more behind the scenes vids
Hi Sam’s Trains what computer an d software do you use?
Flash and Photoshop mainly! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
This is really well done Sam, I really enjoyed it, I was wondering if you had a favourite character, my fav is Henry, but you are entitled to your own opinions enjoy your day mate 👍🏻
Thanks so much mate - yeah I guess Gordon would be mine! ;D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Nice Video Sam I'll try some of these if I film any of my models (which I have just started and has an LMS suburban coach, Milk van and a brake van) Also I clicked on this faster than Mallard going over Stoke Bank at 126mph.
Thanks a lot mate - ooh awesome, good luck with them!! :D haha thanks so much for all the support! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
How did you do the part where everything goes blurry before fading to black (after the crash)? Also, how did you do the bit where we see James waking up from his Point of View (also after the crash)?
Hey Harvie, those were just visual effects - you can do that using most video editing software! Otherwise, I just used the small action cams to film those! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
👍. If you do more videos like that in the future then I will definitely watch them.
Ooh awesome - thanks for that mate, I'll try to do more soon! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I Love that video
Do they have to have faces to make the animation and do you use iMovie or movie maker
Yes they'd need to have faces already, and I don't use those unfortunately! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Amazing video today Sam is there an app for the face effects
Thanks a lot James! Yes I think there's an app, but I prefer to make things manually!! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
It’s just I make a lot of videos on my phone and when I get more Thomas engines am thinking about doing my own story’s
Where do you get your LMS coaches?! I have been looking for them for quite a while!
Hey Caleb - I think I bought mine from train fairs... though I think they're in the Hornby railroad range now!! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Amazing! I found them! Thank you so much!
Very well made Sam. Nice and funny.
Thanks Norbert - appreciate it mate! :D Cheers, Sam :)
That was a cool video i love james
I liked the bit where the sparks were coming out from the bottom of his wheels when he was stopping it was cool
haha thank you!! :D
Good job on that video!
Thanks very much!! :D
MULTI TRACK DRIFTING!! Cool!
Your videos are way better than the modern CGI Thomas programmes
Ooh I'm not too sure about that - but that's very kind of you to say! :D Cheers, Sam :)
Hi Sam what software do you use for the faces ?
Hey Oliver - I did all the faces manually, so you can use any photo editing/animating softwares! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
If you don't mind me asking, what softwares did you use to animate the faces?
I did them manually in Flash! :D Cheers, Sam :)
Sam'sTrains thanks!
Sam´s Trains: Animates Faces like an expert Also Sam´s Trains: Blows out fire on carpet to create smoke And i didn´t even mention the Rocket loco (Salvador the Snail) with the model shed used to hold the rocket motor XD
For the smoke one I thought you were going to say you used a cigarette Great video really enjoyed it well done Sam
haha ooh nooo - I don't smoke! ;D Thanks so much mate - really glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I kinda wanna know how you got him to crash. Did you make pull James off of the tracks with a string, or did he actually come off going over that bend
I actually made a tiny ramp that sat on the inside of one rail - it threw him off when he reached the bend! You can just see it on the outer rail, if you pause it at the right time! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Interesting video sam
Thanks a lot Owen! :D
What did you use for the face editing?
I did it all manually, so you can use any photo editor really! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
@@SamsTrains thank you!
Nice video even though I all ready watched it!😁
haha thanks mate - sorry to have spoiled it for you, lol! ;D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
This came out on my birthday
Ooh awesome!! A very happy birthday for last week! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Thanks
Man this was so interesting
Thanks mate! Really glad you thought it was interesting! :D
How did the desil go with out James moveinng?
Nice!
haha thank you! :D
How did you do the hole James stops and then goes was his motor actually broken
Noo it wasn't really broken - just pretending that part! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Sam I know that's a little late but was James moving full speed
5:06 *_DEJA VU IVE JUST BEEN IN THIS PLACE BEFORE_* im sorry I couldn't help myself
haha!! ;D
How do we get the faces to move and talk can you please may you do a vido about it your lay out is beautiful
It's too complicated to show on video unfortunately - it's a process that takes hours! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Sam what a video
Thanks so much Val! :D
How did you get the sparkes from James.
That was just a stock effect - I just slapped that on! ;D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I love james
Me too! :D
Hi Sam! This video was great! I loved it! Are you excited for Halloween?
Thanks so much Jack! Ooh yes I'm looking forward to Halloween! :D Cheers, Sam :)
This was a great way to learn how to make videos like this. Though there is something I would like to see from your channel, and it's actually like your video of Railway Roundabout (1958). Could you recreate moments from Thomas episodes on your layout?
Thanks a lot Thomas, glad you liked it! Ooh good idea - yeah I could totally do that! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
At the crash scene james's tender is gone, why did you removed it?
haha it wasn't gone - it blasted away during the crash! ;D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Just one thing: In one shot of James derailing, you can see his tender missing.
What animation software do you use?
I did this in Flash! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
