Dwyane Wade to LeBron James (Miami Magnificence)

Back in the day, there was a sort of magic in Miami. Well, Orlando already have the Magic, so let’s say there was a magnificence in Miami instead. When LeBron took his talents to South Beach, with the exception of those living on Biscayne, The Decision was met with almost universal disdain. The Heat knew, however, that there were immediate expectations placed on the team. They took it a touch too far with their presentation ceremony, but the truth is that there was an overwhelming pressure placed on the team before they had ever participated in a practice together. Cue the combination that the entire nation would pay big money to see: The Flash and an altogether different kind of Superman. The chemistry was clear to see if you had ever seen any national team games. Between USA Basketball and the East All-Star, Dwyane and Bron had a connection that allowed them to create the most show-stopping highlights anyone had seen. As Wade said, “it’s like peanut butter and jelly, man, we just go together.”
The partnership paved the way to playing in four straight finals. 4 years. 4 NBA Finals. 2 rings. Granted, they didn’t do it alone. They had a top 10/15 player (depending on who you asked at the time) in Chris Bosh, Mike Miller, a living legend in Ray “Jesus Shuttlesworth” Allen, arguably the greatest glue guy the league has ever seen in Shane Battier, and a few other mainstays (the Captain, Udonis Haslem, Champ (James Jones), Chris “Birdman” Andersen, Mario Chalmers, Norris Cole, Juwan Howard, Joel Anthony to name a few), but between Dwyane and LeBron, they had a duo so dangerous and so dynamic that they could’ve dominated most games just dancing around defenses and passing to one another.
In case you want their numbers together, James and Wade have 6 rings between them, 4 NBA Finals Most Valuable Player awards (2006, 2012, 2013, 2016), 4 NBA MVPs, a combined 15 NBA All-Star berths, 3 NBA All-Star Game MVPs, 21 All-NBA nods (13 All-NBA First Team, 5 All-NBA Second Team, 3 All-NBA Third Team), 9 All-Defensive Team honors (5 All-Defense First Team, 4 All-Defensive Second Team), and 2 scoring titles (2008 and 2009). Not to mention bringing the first NBA championship to the franchises they were both drafted to (Miami’s first in 2006 and Cleveland’s only title in 2016). I don’t think I’m being controversial here when I say that I think these two guys are good at basketball.
