➡️Porsche will reveal the new 911 on May 28, and while it won’t look radically different on the outside, the automaker has confirmed it will feature one major change under the skin: a hybrid powertrain.
The automaker says the new 992.2 can lap Germany’s Nurburgring in 7 minutes, 16.9 seconds when equipped with the Aerokit spoiler package, which is 8.7 seconds faster than the “corresponding version” of the previous model, the 992 Carrera S.
To prime us for the May 28 reveal, Porsche released a video and set of images giving us a taste of the more than 3.1 million miles of testing that went into the 2025 car. The world premiere will be broadcast at 09.00 EST on Porsche’s KZhead channel.

  • Nice to see these tests in UAE. I have seen cloaked cars around my home here in Dubai, since their hot weather testing facility is here. Funny thing is that the cover the badge, like we can’t tell it’s a 911 😂

  • The 911 Turbo S has 650 hp and the hybrid matches its Ring lap time - we know it be heavier so thinking maybe 800hp, it’s revealed on the 28th May

    • It will probably be positioned below the Turbo S so it can't have too much power. The power will depend on the positioning. Will it be a Carrera S replacement or a Turbo level car?

    • @@almac9203 it’s expected that this drivetrain in some form will find its way into both the Cayenne and Panamera as their respective Turbo S models plus the new forthcoming GT2 will receive it as well so possibly multiple power output versions

  • It shouldn't. Why not make some other hybrid car, instead of the 911? A new 918 maybe?

  • Did you know that the fastest street legal car on track is AMG ONE? A hybrid. Probably the fastest race car 919 EVO is... again a hybrid! People usually are sceptical when things are from both worlds, but hybrids have proven themselves times and times again.

  • Porsche put over 3 million miles testing this new EV-Hybrid system. One won't find Ferrari ever refining their automobiles to such a degree. However it's not like they've worked on the same model over a number of decades. Still love Ferraris.

    • I don't think Ferrari cares about reliability or durability like Porsche does. Porsches are daily drivers whereas Ferrari's are weekend cars except their SUV.

    • @almac9203 The way a standard Ferrari owner enjoys his Ferrari is by inviting other like minded Ferrari enthusiasts over. He ask them to bring a few bottles of good old red wine. They then pour the wine and go to the garage to enjoy the Ferrari sitting, parked, sad.

  • Eenthough HYBRID cars is where all companies are headed....if not there already.....Porsche MUST keep ast least the GT3 cars natgurally aspirated. When they put TT in most of their 911ès ièm sure that hurt their sales big time. Losing lots of new first time 911 buyers who wanted a naturally aspirated 911 (but couldnèt get a new GT3....because you need to have owned about 4 911ès before being put on a list...bad idea)....If you want a GT3 today you have to buy a 'certified usedÈ one. There should be a natguraly aspirated Carrera S....
