  • Thank you for showing that dogs are what their owners make them. Yes dogs can become uncontrollable, and yes dogs can turn. But treat them right, show them love and respect, and your daughter will have friends for life. Our dog is half staff and half pitbull and she might just be the sweetest animal I've ever met x

  • Yes I love my Pitt, he's a big baby and protective of my girls. It's definitely how ppl raise them. I don't even hit my Pitt when he does something bad, all I do is say go to your room and he goes to his and the kids room and sits on the bed then he comes out and gives kisses. I love him so much. He gets along with other dogs too.

    • You're wise not to trust them. It's never been a good policy to put children together with any dog. Check out the feature on the "fifth estate" that deals with pit bull breeds and see the facial scars on little kids. You'd think the parents would know better. Side bar...there's a video of a woman who had her face completely torn off by a pet chimpanzee. This one was also a trusted pet. The ones you see in the movies are always babies as the older chimps are also known for their aggression. Regards, A @@gircakes

  • Pits are great dogs but if they're from the pound and have been mistreated, that "viciousness" can come out at ANY time. The problem is that the bite is extreme as they don't release their hold (it's not like a Chihuahua biting you). The comedian Bill Burr had a pound Pit, but gave it away after 7 years b/c it had "issues" (though rare) and it would bite/snap at friends that would come over--since Bill recently had a kid, he had to give it away for security reasons. I'd be wary of Pits even from puppy training as I wouldn't trust the genetic breeding--especially if they come from a family line of "fighting". Some of the biggest most vicious dogs on the planet have been bred nowadays to be total teddy bears, but the Pit is still bred to be a beast and you DON'T want that genetic line in your dog--especially around kids.

  • Regardless of all the comments regarding good/bad about pit bulls. It does not matter what breed the dog is (look up how many labs/retrievers have been allowed to run as packs and killed peoples' pet min horses, dogs, etc.). The girl in the video should not have been allowed to feed the dogs - her face is at their level. One move and any of those dogs (again, regardless of breed), can easily rip her face off. This video should be a warning not an "oh isn't that great" video. Also agree with other commenters - feed the dogs in allocated food dishes, not on the floor. it's just a matter of time until a fight breaks out. Also notice there are two other dogs in the background - one by the stairs at the beginning of the video, and another small dog at the end. At least 8 dogs in one location - how is that safe for a child (again...regardless of the breed).

With the prime example of the 4yr old being very calm and polite with them, and being taught how to handle them. So whoever says pitbulls are vicious by nature, probably have been around ones that have never been trained right or have been raised poorly.

    • people should film horizontically, but they don't... if you are filming vertically, you're doing it wrong... she just didn't change the orientation...

  • Excellent. I just heard about this. I do animal rescue and some of the most wounded dogs are Pits". They are ALWAYS the dog that lowers it's head when they are rescued. They are big but want so much love. I had one , I was told by the caller "The dog has never been inside, he has cuts everywhere. You may want to bring a DART GUN. He is aggressive". Soon as I opened the backyard gate I saw that he had the thickest , heaviest chain I'd ever seen. We went through TWO bolt cutters to get it off. When we did he ran at me (I was holding a burger to give to him) he stopped started to cry, I mean tears LITERALLY, and drooled. The owners were feeding him road kill and I won't say what else. The neighbors were shouting things at me, we ignored them "I'd get out of there, hahaha". I put my hand out slowly and he lowered his head and flinched (it was heart breaking). So I patted his head and lowered myself to his level, not making heavy eye contact. ALL TYPES of dogs that are abused may react to heavy staring, wouldn't you? I kept petting his head then handed him the burger putting it by his mouth. First his mouth was quivering , I told him it's o.k take it. So gently he took it and just ate like crazy. This Pit literally had tears coming down. Not because of the food, I really believe he just wanted a human near him and knew we were there for only good. I didn't have to say a word. I didn't even need a leash for safety. He followed us all the way out of the yard and stood by the truck. He had no idea he could just jump in, I don't think he was ever in a car. I didn't put the leash on because his neck was raw. I helped pick him up and get him in the truck. The first five minute drive he kept his head lowered, THEN I looked back and I could see his tail slightly wagging. Anyway he was fixed up and now is the proud owner of an elderly couple. This was years ago. I only do reptile rescue now BUT I learned later on that this so aggressive dog was not overly hungry because a boy living near would jump their fence at night and feed him. This kid was 9 and you think that doing this would have been a bad outcome. People need to understand that EVERY dog approved the wrong way can make for a bad situation. I got bit so hard by a tiny poodle and once had a giant Pitbull mix lay on me to say thank you..lol. You should always be cautious round any animal to an agree...even your own bird, cat, lizard or dog. This was wonderful to see. Both the little girl learned to stay calm and so did the dogs. BRAVO!

  • This is the most inefficient way of feeding dogs, just dump food on the floor...WTF! Get them bowls and feed according to weight, in a setting like this no one gets a full meal.

    • then why do they turn on owners and others with no notice? These look like puppies or your pitbulls maybe 2 years old of course she can control them. Their genes don't kick in until they are 3 or 4 years old!!
