Like everyone, I want to believe the kick was unintentional. BUT, the awkwardness of the movement on replay, coupled with Hathaway's lack of response/offense to Quick's trip, makes this a little alarming (esp for a player like GH). It's almost like GH knew he was in the wrong... wouldn't be surprised if the league reviewed this given recent events.

I don't know if he was trying to kick him in the head but he was clearly trying to embellish being off balance in an attempt to get at Quick. Quick is known to retaliate so he is a goalie you can get to draw a penalty. Just odd all around and quite dangerous. Penalties for both sounds right. Hathaway needs to watch himself in those kinds of situations if he wants to stay in the league.

So I’m just going off what I saw it doesn’t look like an accident he’s got 1 hand on the ice and 1 leg on the ice all he’s gotta do is put his other leg back down on the ice. Instead he swings it up behind himself very awkwardly. I’m not saying it was 100% intentional but it definitely looks very suspect. I’d like to see a suspension just for how dangerous the play could have been. If any precedent needs to be set it needs to be set that skates stay on the ice at all times before someone else dies “accidentally on purpose”
