It's genius management. He's protecting his players. He will not criticise them in public. Probably goes absolutely apeshit in the dressing room, but ensures it's only him who digs into his players and not the media, so they don't feel attacked. Laporte was everything to that city team and probably the most underrated player in the league. An absolute monster with the ball at his feet and an elite tackler as well. he is up there with van dijk in terms of quality, its just that the media thinks he can stop civil wars with his defending.
Norwich played fantastic game, they deserve the credit.

We were a bit arrogant today not gonna lie, but I want three things to happen after today. First, Otamendi needs to sit out, I think its time for a Fernandinho and Stones pairing to be formulated. Fernandinho maybe doesn't have the strength and physicality, but Otamendi isn't fast, not really tall enough to win headers, and most importantly, is horrible with the ball. Next is we cannot rotate a lot anymore, leaving de Bruyne out ruined the first half we didn't do anything of real note that you would usually expect. And lastly, we gotta put it behind us and go on one of our extremely long runs of form. Once the Liverpool game comes we gotta really buckle down regardless of the gap and get a win at Anfield. From there the season will truly come to life.

Norwich would have hated it if we played as we did at the end the entire 90 minutes did you see how instinctively they started parking the bus and it made them really uncomfortable. City's midfield covers up for their defence a lot. Fernandinho in particular. John Stones always gets found out with England because he spends all year playing in a team where he can always have a couple of months on the ball if he wants. Zinchenko doesn't really defend, Walker leaves big gaps, Laporte is outstanding but again most weeks has an easy ride.
