The process to make sugar from sugarcane is a long and interesting one. A reporter from The Lallantop, Siddhant Mohan, brings to you this process from a sugar mill based in Baghpat in West Uttar Pradesh. The process of making sugar from sugarcane involves sequential cutting, washing, milling of sugarcane and crystallization to make sugar particles for our consumption.

    • Sir the tractors which farmers use are extra overly loaded they cause alot of accidents if you see that in Punjab it will be like they pulled off a Rajnikanth Sir style Stunt .What about the nieghbouring villages of the factory they end up with air ,water and soil pollution .I hope you smelled the place .. Nothing against Sugar nor against employment.Only against monopoly in factories and governance :)

    • Generally jo sugar hamare ghar me use hoti h isme sulphur dioxide gas ka use juice ko saf krne ke liye hota h, aur calcicum hydroxide ka use hota h, juice ki pH ko maintain krne ke liye, Isme koi janwar ki haddiyai use nhi hoti h..

  • Raw sugar is originally yellowish or brownish, which is the color of its ingredient, molasses. To refine the sugar (though brown sugar is healthy as well), certain chemicals are added to it. One common process is the sulphitation process wherein Sulphur Dioxide (SO2)(SO2) is allowed to pass through cane juice till the water content is evaporated. This bleaches the colored impurities of sugar to colorless.
