Yes it sounds like a Taylor Swift song. Indie pop, i believe is the genre? Im not sure, but i think Rosé really suited this style of song. I was expecting something grungier but i really enjoyed this a lot.

Woah, ON THE GROUND is much more complex than I thought. I really love when they breakdown the songs. There is just satisfaction when you know what's really happening in the song.

Rosé won't be worldwide famous for nothing. Her voice is soothing and comforting.
Everyone hates that chorus but this is the first time this type of chorus works for me in 4 years of hearing blackpink's music 😭 aside from musical stuff, I'd be REALLY interested in a full album from her, all lyrics written by her! The lyrics are definitely super personal in here and I'd LOVE to hear more of it, even if the music will not be for me! *Side not that I really love the bridge, there is juts one single synth and her vocals which makes it very lonely and sad :(

I don't really like it. I still think that there must be other chorus that more suits for this song. But I can listen to it.
I think the chorus is a hit or miss but will hit when you listen to it more and more. I didn't like the chorus at first because it felt empty and kinda long (I love their vocal choruses but I dont mind beat drops like KTL), but I definitely had to listen to OTG more and I like the chorus now, it makes the song unique. I love the message although I kinda expected a rock/grudge solo from her, I love it.

It's not a easy to listen song but I gets better when we hear it more. I thought gone is better than this lyrically, sonically. At first time I listened to both song the feeling is difference and I instantly know which I like.

Gone I felt like it was a stretch since it was a breakup song but then again that's all I have listened to from Taylor that's kind of why I stopped listening to her now that I think about it again

IMO this feels like an extremely standard run of the mill Taylor Swift style western indie pop song, but they did do it perfectly and it does fit the Rose vibe very well. She does seem to like this kind of music and I didn't expect something groundbreaking or innovative to the extreme from her at all. It's not for me, but in terms of the artist and their interests/style I think it makes a lot of sense. Also for context I love Blackpink (older BP stuff anyways) and Rose is one of my favorite people in Kpop. Just giving my honest take on the release, imo I can be a fan while still not liking everything.
Totally agreed. My interest was how it would do with the Korean tastes, and it seemed to peak at #4 on Gaon.
I tend to dislike Blackpink’s American pop tracks, just not my taste. But this one is actually kinda good

honestly rosé's chosen technique works perfectly for her and she's very comfortable with it but its hard for others to copy that's why people assume she's 'forcing' her voice but really its just that others cant copy her specific style comfortably
