  • Dear Nin, I just wanted to tell you that you did a wonderful job with this video. You are so kind and respectful to this lady. You set a beautiful example for all of us. I’m sorry for all the hate the DissociaDID system gets. You’re all very brave and doing amazing work with your educational videos. You are teaching not just about mental health disorders and how to cope, but also how to be a decent human being that can stand tall under backlash and reproach with dignity and grace. Truly inspiring. Stay safe and stay kind you wonderful people!

HOWEVER I agree that it isnt a substitute for a professional diagnosis or professional help, and that once you have a self-diagnosis, you should seek out a professional one as that will be more beneficial in your healing journey. e.g. i have self-diagnosed my depression and am now seeking out a professional diagnosis and professional help.

I’m not crazy and it’s not my fault. I live a normal life as I can and I’m happy. My partner and family are supportive.. • I have schizoaffective disorder and the way people can act when they find out is absolutely vile. They could have known me for 6 years, I never let them see my symptoms, but as soon as I confide in them and they find out, they say I'm a "monster". That I "don't deserve to live with such thoughts". That I'm "possessed". How am I supposed to find worth in my life when everyone sees me as an animal? My last close relationship ended with me being forced into a car and left alone in a hospital parking lot at 3 in the morning. I'm thrown away like a diseased stray dog. I pray that one day, I'll wake up from all this and it'll be okay- that I'll have a support system. But, people can be so cruel.

Also, people tend to joke about horrible things so they can manage the pain surrounding that horrible thing. Like when someone jokes about 9/11 and you get all pissy and upset and then learn that they lost family members during 9/11 and realize that they joke about their pain in order to manage it.

But if you can offend or hurt people with a joke, don't use the joke in front of them or anyone who will tell them you said that and people could think you are being hateful or making fun. Yes 1000%” It’s a horrible video, I don’t recommend watching it. But there’s a few commentary videos on it- ImAllex has an amazing one if you’re interested Ironically, in that video, she mentions gender neutral pronouns (they/them) and says that because “they” must mean more than one person (her words not mine), and she doesn’t have multiple personality disorder (did), so she refuses to accept gender neutral pronouns for herself. Which is wrong for so many reasons- namely- that’s not what it means to use gender neutral pronouns lmao. But…here we are a couple of months later with her coming out as someone with DID lol

Despite all the trauma that they deal with as influence rs, people with a challenging disorder, and people with rough childhoods, they have been so resilient and been able to help so many people. Having to watch uninformed people like Trisha say such hurtful things must be really hard for them. I do not have DID but still benefit so much from their videos because I now understand more about the disorder. Thank you so much for your presence on KZhead!

  • Being told I was crazy, over and over and over again, almost killed me. It doesn’t matter that I have the diagnosis’s and proof, people still say incredibly hurtful and ignorant things. It takes lives. I wish I could make people understand who don’t have a disorder that can cause issues like this what it feels like to be told that you are crazy. And to start believing you are crazy. To believe you are insane. I can’t express how painful it is.

Today I saw a woman in my doorway who looked like my mother but was a bit shorter, I told my family, and the only thing they had to say was " You're crazy", family is supposed to help and trust you. Even if it was a joke it hurts really bad, I don't think people understand how hard it is to tell them about things like that. I do not understand what it feels like to have DID, but I know how it feels to be told you're crazy, just know I'm here if you want to talk ❤❤

Because a common side effect (doesnt apply to everyone although common) is feeling anxiety during dissociation because u get a “crazy” like feeling.. u literally feel crazy. • I have never been diagnosed with a dissociative disorder, but pretty sure from what I understand I have dissociated and specifically depersonalized a lot in my older teenage years, while I was just generally struggling with a lot of things. (Mainly undiagnosed and quite severe ADHD, which at this point has been diagnosed by a psychiatrist, as well as resulting depression and anxiety) Absolutely agree on getting that crazy feeling during depersonalization. It felt like I was watching someone else control my body and feel my emotions - not like an alter, but just not feeling fully there or in my body, sometimes for days at the time. I only found out that there is a name for this experience way later, and I don't want to say I had it 100%, since it's been years and I can't quite remember what it felt like, I just remember it being really scary and feeling like I was more of a ghost witnessing things from within.

    @michellecerna6262@michellecerna62624 жыл бұрын
    • Not that I agree with what Trisha is doing at all, but in general in regards to people who can afford to access mental health professionals, a lot of the time there are other reasons they may not do so (certain demographics are less likely to because of cultural reasons or because they're been raised thinking mental illness or struggle is weaknes; others are unable because their community lacks resources; others may be too afraid to go, or their mental illness may actually prevent them from going, etc). To idea of finances as the only possible barrier to health care is incredibly uneducated.

    • A med I agree with you 100%. Thanks for pointing that out to me because all of the reasons that you’ve stated are certainly big factors as to why people don’t seek mental health professionals or speak up about the struggles more often. But the only reason why I looked at it from a financial perspective is because it’s clear to not only myself but to everyone that watched her content, that she is pretty comfortable with talking about her varying mental illnesses. On top of that (just for better context as I probably should have clarified before posting this comment) I typed this after she posted stuff on her IG stories & the new video up on her channel since it was trending on other social platforms. She said she had already seeked help and was diagnosed.

It talked about things like the childhood Trama that caused it the amnesia and a host (it even made sure to show that the host was not the original). As someone who does not have DID, I can't exactly say how accurate it is, but I thought that it was pretty good for the time it was written, and I think you should give it a read.

    • There is also a book called "The Last House On Needless Street" and it's a very unique take on dissociative identity disorder, from the inside world instead of what it looks like on the outside. The story revolves around intertwining traumas told from several different perspectives that seem completely unrelated and is definitely confusing, but throughout the book pieces come together very slowly, in such a way that only gives you a shadow of understanding of the plot until you reach the very end. It's amazing.
