Saltwater fly fishing
Texas rig 💚
Remember to always cast about 5 ft above where you think the fish are. It'll take a few feet for the fly to get down in the water column where to fish are located. When fishing beneath small rapids i usually cast into the rapids themselves and let it drift to where the fish should be, if your careful you wont get snagged on the ground. Final thing don't forget to mend your line for a better drift.
When. you fly fish its really important to keep slack out of your line. If your dry fly fishing its even more important, and also you can't let the dry fly drag, ie. your fly has to be in front of the leader to prevent the line from dragging the fly in the current. That creates an unnatural drift, which the fish can see. When you are nymph fishing, start at the top of the run and let it drift into he tail of the pool. If fish aren't biting its usually because the nymph is floating too high in the water column, so add more split shot to get the fly down lower. When you have lots of cover behind you, it's best to learn how to roll cast. This is a cast that does not put fly line behind you when you cast. It's one of the most used casts because its versatile and can be used anywhere, even in deep cover like small streams. Go to a fly fishing shop and someone there can teach you how to do it. That thing you tied on at the end that was long and furry is called a Wholly Bugger, which is a streamer. You cast it out and strip it back to you with short line strips. They are incredibly effective at catching pretty much any fish alive. Trout go crazy for them and will chase them all the way back sometimes. Essentially, you have nymphs - subsurface flies. These consist of larvae designed to bounce off the bottom, and emerges with soft hackles designed to ride just under the surface. Then you have dry flies consisting of a large array of things from caddis, may fly, terrestrials (ants, bees, grasshoppers, crickets, spiders, and beetles), and stone flies. These you just cast and let them float down current. Trout LOVE them, especially during a hatch. Then you have poppers - mostly for bass fishing. They are like the frogs you like to fish. Cast and then strip them back just like streamer fishing more or less. And last but not least you have bait fish imitations which are streamers, but fished with harder strips to make them look like they are wounded. Bass go crazy for them too. You can also fish mouse imitations for brown trout, which is surprisingly effective. Lots of fun to see large brown trout explode on a mouse popper on the surface. Couple more tips. Match the hatch! Always pick flies that are A) in the water, or B) around the area. This is 99% what the fish are eating at that time. Grab a small fish net like the kind used to clean fish tanks and put it into the current for like 15 seconds and pull it out. Whatever is crawling around in that is what is on the fishes menu at that time. Then just pick flies that match those as close as you can. You see nymphs, match a nymph. You see nymphs with wings starting to emerge, pick out a matching emerger nymph and fish that. You will be surprised at how many fish you bag in a very short period of time doing that.
Also a beginner here. That's what I love about fly fishing. Even the small ones feel like friggin monsters!
I've been watching you for several years. It's been great watching you branch out and evolve brother. Keep up the good work.
Go to Marblehead flyfisher in centerville they’ll hook you up and you can do a local fly fishing vid with stuff there
I love your content, from reviews to catch & cooks. Keep it up!!! 💯
I love how much you're just out having fun in your videos. keep enjoying yourself man I envy you!
Finally got what I’ve been waiting for thank you bro can’t wait to see more
Oh man keep the beginner fly fishing content coming. It’s awesome
The story you put up worked. I missed this video. Glad to find it. Trying to get into Utah fly fishing
Gotta love the small stream fly fishing, it’s somehow the most fun!
Yo love the vids.. watching you from Mexico. Its always a good feeling seeing your video on top of my feed when i get on every day.
your flyfishing skills have definitely improved great job!
Always good to mix a little or alot of fly fishing in!!!! If your looking for line for small stream fishing you can't go w floating weight forward line(fl wtf). Scientific angler or rio are good budget friendly lines to start and they will do the trick.. match the line weight to weight of Rod or go one weight above.
Look up some hares ear nymph they work wonders over here (northern ireland) wild brown or black knats for dry fly but you need to coat them so they don't water log
Bro I love these creek fishing types of videos
Love review vids! Keep the fishing coming ❤️
This can’t be real right?🫣
LOVE THE FLY FISHING VIDEO🤘🏾✌🏾👍🏾

Duuudddeee l love these type of review videos! Love the chill fishing content, and as always keep grinding!
Same
Really like the fly fishing videos!
Hey bro, I’m not very good at fly fishing either, but I learned that you need to mend your line upstream so that your bait flows more naturally. I may be wrong, but a guide told me that in Colorado.
He needs to mend his line downstream, because the current his line is in is slower than the current he is fishing in.
Fly fishing vids are the best plz do more
You also have to pop to a stop when casting it improves your cast tremendously
Now there’s A very expensive flyfishing kit
Heck yeah, been waiting for the fly gear to return. Definitely hit the salt with fly, there are hardly any saltwater fly fishing videos on KZhead.
I love how you embrace the brain of the fish as you pick your first fly. Mmmmm, shiny.
Yes thank you😊
You are correct about the tipit one is floating tipit and the other is a sink tipit
When sighting big browns in Alberta I use a tungsten bead head on my fly normally I cast 2 feet right of that fish and I normally give that fly a twitch and that most of the time attracts that fish and if it doesn’t I’ll throw a big streamer to it and that usually gets the job done but if those fish are eating dries I’ll throw on a double dry and if Im using terrestrials I’ll twitch them good luck out there
The side arm method works in windy conditions as well as well as low limb conditions
I love the fly fishing videos
YEAAAAAAAH FINALLY A FLY FISHING VIDEO
More tips on the cost of your fly fishing combo and files lures
I still don’t know how to match the hatch. The San Juan worm in purple or red for me are pretty reliable. Enjoying the channel. 👍
Just check the bugs and color of the vegetation
I love fly fishing it is fun for sure 😄
I've caught a shiner 3x that in a lake in Washington
I love these fly fishing videos now you need to get a steelhead or salmon on the fly
Please keep making fly fishing content
As a person who has never fly fished before I'd still pull the slack in and try to make the fly vibrate in the slack water like a real fly does, floating causes no commotion
I'm not big into fly fishing but on the odd occasions I have been I used a foam booby fly as an indicator as fish in a hungry mood will hit your indicator and if it's a booby fly thats another fish, try it it works.
What strike indicator are you using?
really cool content !
I think your state record shiner was a fall fish 😂
You should come back to this same creek and dry fly fish it
great video firststate
first 10 minutes!!!!!! My favorite type of fishing is fly and baitcaster fishing.
You should try Tenkara some day. It’s super minimalist.
coming to colorado soon?
First fish was a shiner. Others were creek chubs.
Flip rocks and you can see what bugs are in the creek and try matching the hatch
Hey I’m a new subscriber I definitely wanna see you do the most expensive Amazon saltwater fly kit
Last year, I cast a fly at a little local pond, and my flyline had a tangle in it. By the time I untangled my line, I had a crappie of it. LoL Unfortunately, there aren't any trout streams in my area (Cape May County, NJ) only rainbows stocked in game reserve ponds. I am JEALOUS!
Great video. If you’re just getting into fly fishing look up Tom rosenbauer fly fishing school
More fly fishing plz
I want the boots and a great video! What brand are the boots?
Dude love ur video and I’m from de and would love to know what river ur in
Check out Brandywine Springs park for fishing.
5:55 lol yeah that's a shiner but it ain't that big.
you should do the cheapest baitcaster
It’s really fun when you get good at fly fishing just be patient it’s not that hard
As a New Mexico resident, where is this pristine trout river lol
I'm gonna be a 100% if I had the option i would take this guy fly fishing with me and teach him
Go to nymph in new places is a hairs ear nymph it works
I call them creek chubs
can you do this do 24 hour what you catch you eat but with worms
That's a lot of catfish bait you're catchin
Do it right after the rain when u get the monster bro bro
You should do the cheapest fly kit on Amazon
Look under rocks to see what insects the fish are feeding on
And do a trout catch clean cook video
he did very recently
the fly line they give you on those combos are realllllllyyyyy bad. get yourself some scientific anglers trout fly line, its like $20 and improves your fishing 1000x (make sure you match the weight of the rod to the line) tight lines Edit: you dont need to tie on tippet to the end of a leader as the leader already has tippet on it, once the tippet runs out from either losing flies, retying, or snapping off, then you tie on tippet to replenish the system)
W vid
Fulfill your 1,500 like promise.
When using a popper pop and pause
you say red breast I say shell cracker. I am from the south lol.
I fly fish with a spinning rod 🤣🤣🤷♂️🤷♂️ really want to get into using an actual fly rod but I can cast a fly a mile with my spinning rod and a bombarda float 🤣🤣
I think your main problem is not mending your line
New sub ! Liked ❤️🙏👍🚀
Qué es
Just a heads up, you don't actually need all that stuff on the end of the fly line I literally tie a 4-6lb line to the end of the floating fly line roughly the length of the rod and put a fly on the end and I catch as much fish as anyone using a fancy set up! Keep it simple 👌
Always frustrates me how the fishing industry has no standard for names or size. Like why are fly rods in weights but spinning/casting in light or heavy
If I catch a trout, I just eat it. It's probably going to die after I leave.
creek chub
Stay out of the water when u approach a section of water u want to fish , be stealthy and place your fly in position to be ate. Don’t just slash your rod around with Amazon flies
Cat fish bass bluegill
Qué países
What the hell is up with them boots ?
Do the cheapest one
1:00
the most expensive one i saw was like $399 for a fly fishing kit
