My resource officer in high school was in a similar vein to this guy. Super funny guy, always laughing, and was more open to talking to us than the guidance counselor or any of the teachers were. Helped so many kids, me included. I would not be on the path I’m on if not for him and I couldn’t be more grateful. He passed away recently but man he was a special person. RIP Officer Gainwell.

Guessing if he exercise and gets use to carrying o much what that what lil weight he wears is np anytime. not be shocked in training they have u wear so much so u are used to carrying what u need anytime. i mean military carry alot weight at times so it all being fit and ready to roll anytime.
Has to be hard , my son used to wear alot of gear and I tried to just try the vest 🦺 on and couldn't handle it . It was much too heavy.

This is the officer that makes you turn yourself in crying while he walks you calmly to be arrested. Years later, you become a lawyer, look for him, introduce your beautiful wife and new born baby telling him thank you for caring. ❤
I suspect that is a real life story, maybe not yours but one you have seen. Whoever's story it is I am proud of them for doing the hard work of turning things around.

These kid are getting a lesson in that the police is part of their community and care about them.When he talks to them they will listen because he has shown a willingness to meet them on there level and look great doing it.

This is my all time favorite feel good video. The smile on the officer's face and that of the kids is so uplifting. God bless the men and women in blue. Thank you for all your hard work and sacrifices you have made and continue to make every day. In light of recent developments (4/27/24) makes me so sad to see that state of the world today. It always impresses me when a officer can bust a move while wearing all that gear.... I also love seeing all the kids respect and admire school resource officers.. My high school had one of the old sheriffs who enforced fishing and 3 or 4 wheeler's of the county before he transferred to sections and became my school officer.. So he loved to talk to all the kids about there hunting/fishing spots and stuff like that.

I was bored with much of the work, and as a teen - wished they'd let me out to work a half day that final semester, RATHER than taking an entire day of band, advanced musicianship, art, art again, home economics and foods...I felt like rather than an entire day of electives they should just let me out to go work! Nowadays, they are more lenient with students who have passed all their required subjects.

If just one kid here avoids a terrible situation with cops because they're just a little less nervous around them due to this officer, it's all worth it. Many officers 'in the wild' need to work on themselves too, I'm not removing due blame from them, but this officer helped everyone come just a little closer together.

It is. Every school resource officer is really chill, munciple police are easy going too as long as you aren't causing trouble. Sheriff's are too busy to care about the day to day. The only assholes I've met are park rangers

LOVED everything about that! You can tell he truly cared about the students and they felt the same way about him. This gave me father vibes. He’s dancing and playing with the kids, but he stayed strapped, so let any harm come to them and you will see his full force. Much respect to him for bringing honor to the badge.

Yes indeed! The gun belt alone is about 20 pounds, not to mention all of the additional equipment. But you get used to it. But he was awesome!
Wartime flack vest weighs 27 lbs. Not sure what cops wear, though.
@@ginmar8134 Cops usually wear Level 3A body armor, it is a pretty heavy plate to wear all day...to dance in is even harder if the vest isn't strapped tightly to you. Too tight, and it could get hard to breathe.
As a person who wore majority and did miles runs in it, I can says that that is no joke. You definitely need endurance and be fit for that...my back still hurts

Because there is usually a more precise description, and that leaves the door open for Negative descriptions using racial references. Again, I get what you mean. I have probably used that reference myself, but seeing it in writing made me cringe.

That’s funny a cop that I can respect and feel that we need more of, is one that’s proven to do his job well, proven to be fair and non judgmental I don’t give a damn if he can dance! Although it was entertaining our tax dollar doesn’t pay him to entertain us!
@@ericcooper627 I live in that community that he serves. We all know him here and he is every bit and more of what you mentioned. The only thing about your comment is, unless YOU live here which by your comment I know you don't, YOUR TAX doesn't pay for his protection and service. You would surely know that and the other municipal systems here if you were a resident here. So you have nothing to worry about. You should learn how you get corporations to pay for certain city fundings in your town because that taxing deal sucks for you where you live. Particularly when it's in their better interests as well. It started off sweet in the beginning but became sour past the pre-mature "damn" part. By they way, that cop is paid to entertain as well as to protect and serve. You would know the kids program that he is part of IF you lived here but you don't.

And I never said he was a bad guy I’m saying I’m not gonna assume he is because of dancing and you don’t really know him on a personal lever either and that’s the only reason you should be claiming he a good person is if you know him personally, spent adequate time with him etc…

Need the color of his car and the name of his insurance as well? Don't assume (btw, where did I write I saw him in the community?) or take it out-of context. I am taking about this particular cop. OMG. This was so beautiful too see. I was once a school law enforcement officer myself through the NYCPD. These children become so special and dear to us and the ❤️. I do miss the job till this day. God bless 🙏 him and I hope that he will consider visiting them when he has time. Till this day I'm in touch with many of My students because my children gain their friendship with many who became like children of my own. What a beautiful performance.

Amen yes we do there are so many that are out there that are bad that give a bad rap but for the good out there they are out there touching people's lives and making a difference in others and they should be recognized more so we can have more that will come forward and the kindness going .

This is a gentleman unlike some others that loves his job and truly would lay down his life for his Childrens protection. He will be sadly missed as they children will to him. I hope all his future decisions are with God involved. A heavy heart that's light on his feet.
