Watch me win big playing Plinko. Original airdate October 3, 2001. This show was taped on June 26, 2001, and is episode number 1873K. Complaints/concerns/comments addressed below.
"why do i have to sit through all this, i want to see the plinko win"
a: sorry. the rest of the set-up is included so that TPIR fans can follow along with the show. incidentally the gal who won the wheel (spoiler) went on to win a showcase (or was it a double?) in the final
(side note: the end round with the two big prize packages is called the SHOWCASE. the wheel-spinning situation is called the SHOWCASE SHOWDOWN.)
"omg he screams like a monkey"
a: you would too, if you won $20K in 10 seconds.
"what a flamer/homo/queen/f----t/etc"
a: i congratulate you on your perceptions, you know what they say about perception
"what did you do with the money"
a: i spent it, i'm american
"what's barker like"
a: like looking into time and space itself

  • What I love about TPIR is the genuine goodwill and helpfulness from the audience. The audience wants the player to succeed, and they will try to dissuade them from bad bids and go nuts win the player wins. Have you seen what happens when someone wins both Showcases? Bedlam. With Plinko, you might be unlucky, but you were almost guaranteed to be at least $500 richer. If I could pay off my student loans by dropping chips into various slots, I'd be excited too.

  • @oldertvshowswerebetr The show (as Barker did it) was done live-to-tape, which means that it takes about an hour for each show. You can barely hear anything in the studio as the audience is quite loud, it's sometimes hard to hear the announcer talk about the prizes, especially after the show open (the first item up for bids). Barker stayed on stage and talked with the audience and the contestants. But, the prize cues and theme are definitely audible. Hope that helps!

Plinko has a lot of asterisks in the record books, since there is a daytime $5,000 center slot game, a daytime $10,000 center slot game, a nighttime $20,000 center slot game, and a daytime $20,000 center slot game.

  • Actually I knew I was going to play Plinko after the 2nd pricing game (Plinko was #4)...I saw the name of the game on the show rundown offstage.

  • @jacksontevin funny, i said that plinko was the one game i probably wouldn't want to play because you could potentially walk out of there with $700 and a slap on the back from Barker. Plinko is exciting because it's all-cash and it's overproduced and a "fun" game.
