Look at all imperial colonies by Britain, Netherlands, Germany and France. Pure horror and exploitation. Disgraceful evil and I believe all nations who engaged in imperialism should pay reparations. I believe they should apologise as King Philippe has. I agree with you but modern constitutional monarchs aren't responsible for their ancestors! It was a different time with different values. What we need to do is put it right!

    • Euh... "Danke" est de l'allemand. En néerlandais, c'est "Dank u". Rien d'anormal à s'adresser aux gens en deux langues, en attendant de voir laquelle ils choisissent. J'imagine que vous venez d'un pays unilingue car, dans un pays bilingue ou multilingue, c'est tout à fait normal. En Belgique, c'est ce que font beaucoup de commerçants en accueillant des clients ou des téléphonistes-réceptionistes en décrochant le téléphone ou en accueillant des visiteurs. C'est juste de la courtoisie linguistique élémentaire.

    • @@giorgioroyaume8815 Merci pour votre explication. J'ai dit simplement que c'est normal dans un pays bilingue (en fait même trilingue). En ce qui concerne la reine, l'actuelle est belge de naissance mais c'est une exception, puisque toutes les reines précédentes étaient étrangères. La reine Fabiola (Espagnole) avait très bien appris le néerlandais, la reine Paola (Italienne) nettement moins bien. Cela dit, il est clair que les familles royales et la haute noblesse européennes connaissent en général le français mais pas le néerlandais et que l'apprentissage inévitable de cette langue représente une charge.

    • @@majy1735 Merci à toi J'avais compris, mais être bilingue D'UNE FAÇON PARFAITE est difficile, pour tous, même pour les belges, les suisses,les canadiens Par éxample Céline Dion a dit que l'anglais est difficile à parler et un peu fatiguante pour elle et pour plusieurs québecois Penses-y...a une situation oú on doit trouver le juste mot tout de suite Mon père était 🇫🇷 et moi aussi j'étais bilingue et je connais cette situation ( sûrtout aujourd'hui que j'ai un peu quitté cette langue, mais c'était pareil) et je n'ai pas utilisé le traducteur

    • The Belgians are Saxe Coburg Gothas too. In fact King Leopold I was originally married to George IT'S daughter Princess Charlotte who died in childbirth along with the baby. He later was made King if the Belgians and his nephew Albert married Queen Victoria. The former Tsar of Bulgaria simeon II is also of the House of Saxe Coburg Gotha and is Orthodox. The Swedish House of Bernadotte was founded by a French Catholic Napoleon's General who became Lutheran and managed to keep the Swedish throne after Napoleon's collapse. How Protestant the English Royal family is is questionable.
