Saw one cat chatter and attract some birds near, though they don't see him for the position he's already at. Then he prepared like that for 2-3sec, then.... A cat of length around 1ft took a long jump of about 8ft from that steady position and took one bird away with just one wrath of its paw. The way they hunt is absolute artistic.

    • People base that prejudice on their own experiences with mostly strange cats they don't own. Cats have very distinctive and different personalities and most cats are a bit shy towards strangers or they simple come close to them after you offered them a treat, hence they appear cold and egoistical. Of course there are exceptions, like the cat of my cousin used to be; he was very cuddly, friendly and devoted to everyone, even complete strangers. People however automatically assumed that this was not normal cat behavior and called him dog-like. I think people can really understand that cats love their owners just as much as dogs after they have owned a nice, friendly cat themselves. My own little fluffball is certainly very clingey to me and loves me infinitely- I was once on a trip for a week and that poor baby was so sad about my absence that he barely ate his food and always slept on my bed, eagerly waiting for my return. Of course that makes it hard now for me to leave the hose for a longer period, but then I knew from the beginning that owning a cat takes as much responsibility as owning any other animal. Also I don't get the cat vs. dog mentality. I own a cat, love cats, but I also adore dogs. I def. prefer the former, but dogs are nice too. They're just a bit different :)

    • +MIS315 the BBC natural history unit consistently makes the best nature programmes available. In UK, we have hundreds of one-man-band film-makers who have the patience and skill to get the 'killer shot' which reveals what is actually happening, often months of painstaking work, and then they sell their work to the BBC, or are hired by the job to get that shot. They do really great protography and film, just like this. The American networks can't touch it, and if an American filmmaker really wants to reveal and study animal behaviour seriously rather than just scare people with how sharp their claws or teeth are, he offers his efforts to the BBC.

My dog always asks for food and my cat didnt even I what I gave him, he always had leftovers, he was a honest and modest animal and a loyal friend.Go get a cat and then comment. You can say that my dog isnbt dressed but I havent dressed my cat either and he never needed to be dressed or washed or taken out he only wanted my atention and I gave that....I only hope it was enough to pay him for all the joy he gave me. He was a true friend.
