As a Spurs fan, the biggest missed opportunity for me was actually the following year after Leciester, when Conte's Chelsea won the league when they were a year older and wiser. That Spurs starting 11 was amazing. Lloris wasn't washed yet, we had arguably the best center-back pairing (Vertonghen and Alderweireld in their prime), the best fullbacks in Walker and Rose, Moussa Dembele holding it down in the midfield with either Wanyama or Dier (who actually was good then), and then the front four of Son, Alli, Eriksen, Kane. 1 to 11, I would have put that team up against anyone
I don’t know why people sleep on that team so much. Lloris was a beast at his prime, Dembele is probably the most underrated midfielder of this generation and Alli seemed like he would go to the very top. Like you said, the whole XI was class

that first 11 was disgustingly good fr tho I think the biggest problem for that team was no depth, 24 first team players, some decent players to replace, but after that there was nothing, the squad was just to thin
Spurs were definitely better in 16/17 than they were in 15/16, but it was always going to be hard for Spurs to exceed the 93 points Chelsea got in 16/17, while Leicester only reached 81 in 15/16. Spurs did reach an impressive 86 points in 16/17, so I guess you could say they should've just turned a few of their draws into wins. But before the age of man city getting insane point totals almost every season, 90+ points was considered pretty damn high.

They are not actually owned by the Bayer company but were founded by the workers of the Bayer plant in Levey
they are still owned 100% by the Bayer AG, Leverkusen was the first 50+1 exception and still has a lot of financial advantages because of it. They still had to do amazing work to get to this point but especially the pandemic years didn't hit them nearly as hard as other clubs to be completely fair.
