  • One could consider me part of the patient alumni from the HCMC burn unit. It’s good to see a few familiar faces in this video even after 12 years.

  • Please, everyone, consider being an organ donor. Bless those that live with these scars.

  • My 10yr old grandson was burnt with boiling water. He had second and third degree burns over 40% of his body. He was flown to the Henipen County burn unit. He has the best care. The Doctors and nurses were so caring and great at their jobs. This hospital, I believe is the best place we could of gone to. He has very minimal scars and he has no fears from his experience. I totally advise anyone to go there. The medical staff is fantastic

  • My husband was there about 5 years ago. The Patient, who is now a Dr. did the surgery. I stayed with my husband for about 28 days. Watching this brings back many memories, good and bad.. ♥️ to all.

    • Sorry I'm confused. The patient who is now a doctor did the surgery... The patient did surgery? On themselves?

  • I was going to be an organ donor but I developed stage 4 breast cancer that went into my skin, bones, etc. I lost a good family friend to severe burns several years ago and he had all funeral donations go to the Pediatric ward of the Boston Burn Treatment Center (in thanks for helping him and because he met several brave young burn victims...putting up a good fight). God Bless them all. RIP Colonial Robinson.

    • As far as I'm concerned, on one hand not knowing it exists is almost a good thing lol means you and no one you love has ever been there. But on the other its kinda comforting to know it does exist though

  • It takes special staff to run a special unit. This is the most important part of medical performance.. some of these people never lead a normal life again. Burns. Are devastating long term injuries. I pray that some day doctors will be able to replace burned skin with new ones. Like the skin you get at birth. I am a organ doner.

  • I've always wondered what the Tank room looks like. Obviously these rooms don't have the Hubbard Tanks in there anymore, and haven't since the 70s, and 80s. The old Hubbard tanks were done away with, because of the Bacterial soup that's created when you put a burned patient in the tanks. The whirlpools were archaic turbine driven ones.

    • Oh my God I remember the tub room in those old tank rooms. It was horrifically painful what went on in those rooms. These are not used anymore thankfully.
