Dear Irene, Dear Irene - You once inspired a lonely girl with dreams of passion when she needed them most, and I'll never forget that. Whatever dreams I carve in this world made of stone - whatever souls I inspire - are due in part to those dark, lonely days your voice inspired me to dream of better days. So many of us were dancing for our lives, in one way or another, reaching for that feeling. You helped us make it. Thank you.
GREAT SHARING Patricia your choice of words is poignant n phenomenal indeed. May Irene's soul RIP. GOD BLESS YOU.🙏

One of the most iconic songs of 80s. Thanks Mr. Moroder, for this masterpiece.
Jennifer Beals + Marine Jahan + Irene Cara made this all possible. Each played a roll in the success of this film/song.

My daddy always said that he lost his V. card while playing this song.
I had the fortune of meeting Ms. Irene Cara a few decades ago and she was a very nice and down to earth person who shared a cautionary tale of how her record company stole her money and blackballed her from the music industry. The very song in this music video made millions of dollars and she didn't see any of it until after 10 years of legal battles after the song was released. Fortunately, she won her case. However, it caused this very talented artist to choose a different path than that of the pop star that she was becoming. R.I.P.
