My adopted niece was found to have lesions caused by parasites in her brain. These were causing seizures and minor learning issues. The parasites are now gone, but some of the lesions remain. This happened to a friend of mine who ate undercooked pork while traveling abroad. He had headaches and had 2 seizures so they did an MRI and there it was. He was treated with anti-parasitics and was eventually fine. So it does happen.

And in Canada it's hard to detect as you try to get the go ahead for a scan, as doctors here are told it's too rare a consideration, (they label the patient as delusional) ,so the treatment thereafter doesn't happen. If you want to move to Canada for medical care don't. You're better off elsewhere. That's right. People in the north suffer from parasitic infections (news article a few months ago said 10% of the entire national population suffers from a rare treatable disease). I speak from unfortunate experience in this issue.
You don't need a Brain scan to find them. a stool sample is the fastest way. by the time they get to your brain their are in your whole body.
Well the fact that he's old and a worm ate a part his brain tissue makes him a perfect candidate for president. Add in a couple of sex scandals and corrupt family and bingo, he's our next president.
My mother had this 30 years ago, the cysts ate 25% of her brain, she had seizures and she only remembered her highschool years, forgot who I was and the fact that she married or what she worked at. Eventually she recovered most of her memories and stopped having seizures, today she is the most intelligent and street smart person I know.

Sometimes it is clear that symptoms (technically signs) and physical findings are unrelated, but when people report things like brain fog or mild cognitive dysfunction and are told that - for example - their brain worms are unrelated, I am surprised because I don't think that we really know that much about how the brain works. I'm not convinced that we even know what brain fog actually is. If you can suggest a good source that tackles these issues I would be most appreciative.

I worked in a door manufacturing plant where they used formaldehyde to treat the doors before staining them. Everyone in the plant was exposed. I quit after I saw what was happening to my fellow workers. The formaldehyde would concentrate in one portion of the body and paralyze it or cause a seizure. Someone would be walking along just fine and then go down with no warning with a seizure. I would watch as someone lost the use of a limb temporarily. Or suddenly couldn’t stand. Formaldehyde poisoning doesn’t go away and as far as I know, it’s untreatable. I got out after a month. My friend lasted 3 months. He still has symptoms 30 years later. Most workers lasted about a year before being permanently disabled. The factory is still there and still using formaldehyde.

A year ago, I had a MRI of my brain because I was getting headaches doctor told me that I had a small worm in my brain. She said that its not rare and that many people have it and dont know they do. That some time in my life I ate pork meat that wasn't cooked right. And for me not to worry.

Get another doctor. They are NOT common. If they are present, it will cause disruptions of some sort in a healthy person. Medication can kill them, as can other specialized treatment, but it's not one of those conditions that anyone should take lightly. You brain is your most vital organ. Honestly, get a second opinion. They can cause major damage if left untreated.
These worms aren’t just from pork. There’s rat lungworm that you get from lettuce and other leafy veggies that they hide in. Be careful what you eat on Big Island and in SE US states. Treat asap with albendazole if you get symptoms of headache and spine pain. It can cause severe damage and even death.

Years ago, I got very sick, and was eventually diagnosed with Giardia. It's a parasitic infection that settles into the intestinal tract and make the host very sick. It took rounds of heavy antiparasitic meds and weeks to recover from. People most at risk are those who camp or hike and may ingest or drink contaminated stream or brook water, or people who travel in other parts of the world. It can also be transmitted through properly unwashed lettuce or other produce. I hadn't been camping or traveling, and always washed produce and cooked things properly. The doctor told me it could have even come from the drinking water source in the town, if the levels of chlorination were just a tad off. No one else got sick, and I did get better with time. Thank God I had a great gastroenterologist who picked up on the symptoms right was, and did tests to confirm, getting me on the meds asap.

Non-pork eaters can get the same thing is they have food preppers that unknowingly have the parasite themselves. So people with servants, house chefs,food preppers, and other staff in addition to getting it at a restaurant. There's a famous case where a Jewish family got it from their home servants[?] that contaminated non-pork meals they made for the family.

That is still uncommon. If food is properly stored, washed and cooked, infections by parasites are rare. In 3rd world countries, it's rampant. But in the US, it's unlikely if proper prep is followed.
When I was a kid we were given regular worming tablets. For some reason, 50 years on we no longer do that and yet we are exposed to the same parasites. We should all de-worm regularly, just as we do our pets.
