  • When water gets in behind the bricks will get wet amd never dry leading to them crumbling. Never cover bricks up unless they will never get wet. Bricks need to breathe and get dry after getting wet.

    • I used to live in a neighborhood where all of the buildings were from 1840-1890 and quite literally built like that. Probably requires more maintenance than exposed brick, but certainly not a cause for concern.
