  • For me, Jesy looks the way she looks because of the trolling she faced and she was trying to fit into beauty standards which came across as blackfishing.

  • I'm a new fan but mostly been observing with everything that is happening. I'm happy that you stood your ground on Jesy and I feel sorry that it has come to the point that you have to fear for yourselves just by showing support to an artist. I have read from some of Jesy's fans really get threats and recieved awful and hateful messages just for showing support to Jesy. So I understand how cautious you are when it comes to sharing your thoughts on her. I think it will mostly be fans that are obssessed to hate with anything that has to do on Jesy that you should look out for coz there is no one in their right mind would keep tabs on someone that they don't like. It's just sad that like the controversy overtook Jesy's single. Like the the gp and the fans knew abt the controversy more than the song that it gave them a biased kind of opinion towards the whole song then they also kind of judged Jesy based on the opinions and comments they have read. I've been observing and some really gave constructive criticism but others outright bullied Jesy, discredited her of her talent, disregarded her mental health, called her bunch of awful things, questioned everything she showed and gave to LM the past 9 years like they know her personally. For the fans, It wasn't just abt the bf anymore and I thought they were just waiting for this kind of moment to unleash all this accusations towards her. It's a bummer coz I would have loved to hear your thoughts on the single coz you were so excited for her when you did Jesy's new chapter podcast. But I understand that it might not be safe cos of all the factors you have stated. I'm looking forward to future cub podcasts though. Have a great day!

  • I completely agree with what was said here, very mature approach! I don't feel like Jesy ever has or will do anything maliciously, but she's not well educated on these matters because she's so far removed from it. I hate the way the whole situation went down, personally I also believe the DMs were real and both Leigh and Jesy made bad choices throughout the whole thing. I'll still keep tabs on Jesy and wish her the best, I hated Boyz personally 😂 But I'm excited to see what else she puts out, and I'll ofc continue to Stan all the girls. I just truly hope they find a way to all forgive each other and move past this in future because I look back at old videos and it hurts my heart to see where they are now from where they once were 💔

  • A lot of mixers were supportive of Jesy when she left the band, but the switch some of them had when she uploaded a picture of her at the studio on her Instagram story was crazy. Honestly it's crazy the amount of non-black people / mixers that make fun of Jesy's actions, making jokes and calling her all type of names when they are part of the problem. Why are white people laughing and saying things like "our black queen Jesy Nelson Mandela" like what's so funny to you? Also it's not the same to be supportive of the black community than to be posting edited pictures of Jesy's blackfishing EVERYWHERE so she gets hated on. You are not spreading information about blackfishing, you're trying to make people hate on her.

  • I support both lee and jesy I just hate how everyone hates on her and talks bad about her when lee also was being shady and then nobody also believes the messages were real… it’s really annoying when can pages be like “f u j Stan’s” like her name is a bad word but then constantly post jesy on their page while talking shit about her… it’s sad that the fans are being this toxic (not all of them) they should just move on either support both of them, or support one of them or non of them at all.. As a black girl I didn’t really care what jesy did she knew she was white and clearly said it.. she just tans alot like body builders they tan to show off their abs she was doing the same thing to, that’s how I thought of it.. and the nicki stuff was unnecessary.. I love them all tho

    • I do believe in cancel culture, when it comes to one specific person.. Jesy Nelson and the women in Little mix is not that person!

  • First of all, Can we agree that some of the mixers, if not most, we raised concern after the Sweet Melody Music Video came out, Her skin was much much darker. A lot of us tried to tell her but she blocked them. Mixers got angry at the point where she said she was not educated on it and that she did not know she was blackfishing because she knew, many of the fans told her. All I am saying is that most of the Mixers wanted to support Jesy but the above thing made those people angry. (Btw, I am not including myself on any of the teams or not even telling anyone whose side I am on in if that is a thing because both the sides are toxic, the baddies and mixers, I do not want unnecessary toxic hate whenever I open KZhead) As far as the Dms with Nohun and Leigh Anne were concerned, I do not see why that is such a bad thing, everyone has the right to express who they feel and she confided to a person who she thought would understand her even if not support her and not tell the world, Nohun did the wrong thing by sharing it to the public, even after it came to the public, I do not see anything wrong with the way Leigh Anne dmed Nohun if the dms are true. She has the right to speak on this. And about Nicki's live, what Nicki said, they are not holding Jesy responsible for that because it's Nicki's words, The Mixers are upset over the fact that Nicki kept on bad-mouthing about Leigh Anne and Jesy never stopped her (at least at that time the dms were proved as fake) but instead kept laughing. It was a hectic time for Leigh Anne as well with postpartum struggles and everything and we already know that Nicki is not into supporting other Black Artists and we knew that for a long time. And even after the alleged Dms leaked, Leigh Anne never said anything, completely avoided the topic which is good for her and bad for the Jesy fans because Jesy's fans feel that Leigh Anne is insensitive. (Just realised that it is pretty long) And Jesy pretending she did not know about blackfishing was the limit that as a POC person I can sustain too, especially when your fans are constantly trying to educate you about it. That's it Do not come at me. I am aware that there might be grammatical errors and few missed words but if I read and edit it again, I might just end up deleting the entire thing so I am just posting this here. Thank you if you made it uptill here.

  • I deff respect the fact how youre not afraid to say youre gunna support her despite probable hate you could recieve. But I do disagree that just by doing rnb she must to do CA. Singer Jojo is a perfect example of a white woman doing it respectfully. And I do not think jesy does ca on purpose but tbh that doesnt really matter cuz sometimes actions are larger than the intention behind it. Also I do think that her ca became more obvious with her leaving LM. Yes her hair is naturally curly but when you get that with the tan and lips its more obvious plus the whole "hood" lyrics. But yh shes sadly just deeply a very insecure person

    • Just to clarify, I don't think doing R&B means she "must" culturally appropriate. I just expected it based on her level of ignorance. It's a fine line to walk and is easy to get wrong which is why Jojo is one of the few white artists doing R&B that can be pointed at as an example.

      @doesitmatter_YT@doesitmatter_YT2 жыл бұрын
  • Jojo is a white rnb artist and culture appropriation was never a issue for her. Being in the urban/ rnb be space does not make you prone to anything. She can do rnb without the cultural appropriation.
