Disney: No Mano Studios: Ok let's bring hand drawn animation back!
Yes! 😍✨
WHich is a shame since back in the day disney was world class for hand drawn animation! I might have to check this new one out.

1 - Let's make manual animation 2- Let's make 3d animation and insert into the manual animation 3- Let's make 3d animation full movies 4- Let's make algorithms that turns 3d into fake 2d animation 5- Let's make manual animation again 6- Let's make AI build "manual" animation The "wonderful" world of humans trying to "innovate".
Is this, an indie film? I’ve never heard of Mano studios? I’m asking because I’ve noticed indie animation has been going through a renaissance since the beginning of the decade.
Its nice to see someone continuing hand drawn legacy other than studio ghibli

I didn't even know this was in the works in Pakistan. This is honestly beyond anything I could have ever expected from the Pakistani Film Industry. We clearly have very capable people here but country just won't support this industry.
Studio might be in Pakistan but there is nothing Pakistani about it, the women are not Muslims, the cast are all Western people and the girl is not all covered up.
@@kaneidareyue7715 And you think that is what defines a movie bieng Pakistani? Have you seen movies like Ye Jawani Phir Nahin Ani. Extremely vulgar films. Do you consider them Pakistani? The Western cast is for the English Dub. The Urdu dub will be done with a Pakistani cast. In the end this is a movie made by Pakistani's in Pakistan. It is by definition a Pakistani movie.
@@kingkiller5325 Most films from their country depicts their own people. Pakistani depicting Western people in Anime from another world is kind of strange, its almost as if they are crying escapism. Even Japanese anime or Chinese anime still have hints of their culture in their storyline and characters. There is none in this Anime which I suspect must be possible self-hatred for their own culture and people, or the story was originally from a non-pakistani person but just made in Pakistan.
@@kaneidareyue7715 The idea of countries depicting their own people in movies has never strictly been true for Animated movies. And this has been doubly true for Fantasy movies that are not based on or in any one specific culture. Look at Disney's Animated movies. Pinocchio is based in Italy. Snow White in Germany. Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast both in France. And Alladin in Middle East/Persia. Despite the fact that all of these movies were made in USA and by USA. This movie is not depicting western people because it's a Fantasy movie. Not based on a real country. It's depiction seem Western because it's heavily inspired by Studio Ghibli films which also have western friendly depictions. Also ofcourse this animated movie is the ultimate form of escapism. It's not meant to nor is it obligated to depict life in Pakistan. It's not self hatred. Otherwise like I said you would have to agrue that movies like Alladin were results of Self Hatred for people over at Disney. Avatar The Last Airbender was a result of Self Hatred for people over at Nick. And Animes like Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Attack on Titan which do not have a singular depiction of Japanese characters or Japanese Culture and are almost exclusively based in depiction of Germanic characters, Germanic culture and Germanic architecture are also a result of self hatred by the Japanese. Lastly while the main characters are indeed western. The movie does indeed depict the common people to be very close to Pakistani's in their culture through depiction of traditional Pakistani clothing and Food. It's in the trailer and has been confirmed otherwise. One could argue that it's a fictionalized Fantastical depiction of the Colonial Era Pakistan/India when the Military Higher Ups still largely if not entirely comprised of Englishmen.
@@kaneidareyue7715 If you did not see "hints of our culture" in this trailer then you are just spouting BS. I am a Pakistani and I saw the "hints". The story is by Usman Riaz, who is a Pakistani. The disputed territory reference is about the disputed territory in Kashmir which is disputed between India and Pakistan. The whole concept of "Jinn" that you saw in the trailer is an Islamic concept, which, take a guess where it's the predominant religion and a major part of the culture? Hint: The answer is Pakistan. Take your stupid assumptions and shove em cuz its people like you who are there to be offended for the sake of being offended.

It's truly great to see a piece of art that exposes war for what it truly is under the thinly disguised layer of jingoistic platitudes: "idiocy."
It's not the first piece of art to do so, but seeing as wars keep happening, artists like this will clearly just have to keep making them until everyone gets the message 😅
@@alexlyster3459 Yeah, I do realise that. But since the whole of subcontinent seems to be infested with a culture of military worship and glorification of weapons (that can cause mass destruction), it's pretty hard to find voices like these. The mainstream movies that cover war here, tend to glorify it rather than dismantling the hero system. I'm especially impressed, since this movie not only showcases technical brilliance but also tries to speak truth to power.

Inspired?? More like copy
@mihiec And let me guess, you think Studio Ghibli created its stories completely out of whole cloth? Most of them are inspired, if not directly based on other material. This movie is clearly inspired by Ghibli, especially Howl's Moving Castle. And while the art style and VFX are similar, the actual character and prop designs are distinct. More importantly, imitating a successful style is not taboo. Anime was inspired by Disney, and a lot of the older works looked just like the movie that did the most to develop the aesthetic: Bambi.
I hope we manage to settle our borders one day.

@@erenyeagerist7681 When people say "Disney inspired anime," we refer to the modern medium as it exists today, not the history of Japanese animated film in general.
