I wrote some subtitles for the Swedish talk, please tell me if they are to sloppy.
A Not Too Steady Flow Of Mayflies is fly fishing tale from the season of 2023. I filmed a lot with the fly fishing superstars Håvard Stubö (jazz and fly fishing) and Markus Lemke (Lemmelkaffe), then I also filmed by myself, some of the footage is included in the vlog series "Kokkaffe Diaries". Håvard a also filmed some by himself in the secret rivers of Norway. Other than that it's the usual stuff, dry flies, coffee, a few arctic char, tiny forest trout and this time also big trout. Thanks for watching!
Music from Joel Alter, Happy Hunter, Radio Lichtenstein, Jesper Ferrari, Kristian Matsson, Jazz and Fly Fishing, Torbjörn Ömalm, Sean Carey and Ben Lester.

  • You make the best films about fly fishing and it's not close, Rolf. I'm also so appreciative that you guys are dry fly fishermen. It's almost hard to believe how nymph centric common fly fishing has become. There's a place for everything but it's great to see folks showing the true heart of fly fishing.

  • I grew up in northern British Columbia and go back whenever I can. Watching you fish your forest rivers reminds me of the magical moment in my youth when I found a tiny stream in the woods near my home that became my secret place. I too now fish as much for the fact of being in the wilderness as for the fishing. A day with only one fish can be as rewarding as 10 if there was an osprey nest with young, or a rare native orchid or an albino slug. Your videos are the only ones that capture the essence of the experience, the experiences that make life worth living.

  • Well done Rolf, that was fantastic, and rest assured, for us you’re the hero of the film! You also got bonus points for your consummate gill grip on that pike, so easy now that you don’t even talk about it. Had a good chuckle at your schadenfreude pleasure when Håvard failed to catch a mackerel, no less than he deserves given the monster trout that he catches. Bravo, a beautiful film.

  • This film might include a lot of exciting moments, but I think your work captures the PEACE of fly fishing more than any other channel I’ve found. I always leave your films feeling happy, even when your mood in the film is the opposite. It’s because at the end of the day, like Havard said, the Chase is what fulfills us, and I get that fulfillment every time I fish even if I don’t get a single strike. There are a lot of great fly fishing channels out there, but you are unparalleled in your storytelling and ability to make us happy with your art. I hope you keep making these masterpieces for decades to come!
