  • U-2 pilots eat tube food that has a pudding-like consistency and comes in flavors like hash browns with bacon bits, chocolate pudding, and pepperoni pizza. The food is prepared in the Department of Defense kitchen in Massachusetts and comes in containers about the size of a large tube of toothpaste. The tube foods are attached to feeding probes that are inserted into an opening in the pilots' helmets.
