Love that by the end, the lyrics switch to plural (“Let’s journey together”/“We’re just quirky notes in a symphony”) to symbolise Paracelsus promising to stay with her and journey with her so she won’t be a lone single note in the world.

Fun Fact about A.B.A., she originally appeared in the spin-off game Guilty Gear Isuka and got ported to XX. Her theme in Isuka was Quicksilver and in XX it was Keep In Gates, both composed by Masaomi Kikuchi. Strive makes it the first time her theme was done by Ishiwatari himself
What’s cool is that he incorporates little pieces of each of her previous themes in this one too! Seriously a complex piece for such a cool character
And even wilder then that, she wasn't even DESIGNED by Daisuke himself...instead she was the baby and the first real character design of legendary fighting game god Mori Toshimichi...the man who would make Blaze blue. Its why Aba seems so different and the line 'quirky note' hits so hard. She really is a 'quirky note' in that she is Mori Toshimichi's baby first and foremost. A 'blazblue character before blaze blue'. Given how the lyrics are and how Mori famously left Arc Systems Works after the failure of a blaze blue mobile game...I want to imagine this song is Daiske wishing Mori love and respect given they grew up together and famously got into gamedev because of their love a unnamed-to-this-day girl in college.

I like how it appeals to a lot of people despite what it says. It even sounds like a chorus of people singing it.
I really like this song, I like the distinction between more standard common virtues and the more traditionally negative ones claimed by the singer (presumably A.B.A and/or Paracelsus), which as time goes on both seem to come together towards the end with love becoming a maze as well. This song is both hope for one's ability to change and find connections to others, as well as a denial of conventional understandings of what one should be, and I think it's quite interesting. Even the commonly mentioned "blah-blah-blah"s are fun as they initially seem to be the incomprehensible expectations enforced on people, but towards the end as the singer and their companion join together they instead "shout" and form their own expectations for themselves. In that sense this song is not a rejection of boundaries, but instead a declaration of working together to create ones that actually relate to the subjects, and function on behalf of the involved parties

It's a lot less obvious than Mariah and Amazing Grace in Extras, but the "Creepiness" bit of the chorus is musically quoting "Poison" by Bell Biv DeVoe, which is fittingly a song warning someone about a girl with a bunch of red flags, which... **Gestures at ABA** Also, I feel like not enough people are appreciating the wordplay of "Quirk-*key* note in the symphony."

The S1 vids were made before official lyrics released, and we don't have official lyrics for most of the S2 and S3 songs. I think The Kiss of Death, Mirror of the World, and Just Lean have the most mistakes. The Gravity is just incomprehensible to everyone lol.
If you want more accurate lyrics, Capnbrooker makes good lyric videos too and updates them (for example we got some Just Lean lyrics from Naoki and they've been updated)
