I am a huge fan of the original and a Native New Yorker. I was blown away by this version. Excellent casting, especially the lead roles of Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zeigler. I loved their portrayals, very honest and real and they sang so beautifully. I never saw any of Ansel’s other films, so I binge watched. Very talented young man. If Hollywood cancels him based on an allegation that was taken down (and even with all the backlash has not turned up any kind of arrest) I hope he blows up as a music producer and singer. He is incredibly talented. I just don’t believe in believing someone just because they accuse. I do believe he is innocent until proven guilty. I know too many cases of women who have destroyed innocent men. Let’s talk about how he gave an amazing performance in this beautiful film! 💖
Here's a tip, The Fault in our Stars. Such a good movie. And they went to my country, the Netherlands. So awsome. But really a good movie, he showed his talent very well in this movie.
I love Ansel too! The thing I like is that in this film, he's a Native New Yorker but speaks with a normal American accent. However, he learned to do a Brooklyn Accent for this gig!

Yes! I was pleasantly surprised. I loved what he did with “Cool”, “Officer Krumpke,” “America,” and the inclusion of Valentina’s character.
I mean look at the America lyrics in the movie. That was the actual lyric of the Broadway show, the original movie changed it for some reason. Spielberg's movie was a lot better and more faithful to the source material

He did an AMAZING Tony in The West Side Story. And Steven made this movie with such respect to the broadway musical and the first filmversion. I totally fell in love with this version. 😍😍😍😍😍😍

When I saw this movie I kept thinking he reminds me of Superman and then Riff calls him Superman. Also he would be a great Captain Von Trap if Sound of Music is ever re-imagined.
