    • Or maybe you have absolutely NO idea what you're talking about. Seriously... Maybe you should just let people be who they want to be, because it doesn't affect you in the slightest. Live and let live, mind your own business and realise that people don't have to conform to forms of being or thinking that others are comfortable with. Simple as that.

    • This is too complex to try to argue on a KZhead comment thread. But if a kid likes the characteristics of the opposite gender and chooses to pursue acting them out it’s his or her prerogative. It’s when someone wants to defy physical nature by amputating themselves that should raise questions about someone’s mental well being. And the same can be said about “normal people” doing culturally accepted cosmetic surgery. I’m one who can care less if you chop off or artificially add anything from or to your body. I just laugh when you demand from me to believe your lies when things are blatantly obvious….you’re either born male or female, period.

Who are these people? What motivates them behind their decision? It seems to me that this was all planned out decades ago. Let's have "women liberation".....let's have "sexual liberation"......let's have "gay liberation" .......let's have "gender fluidity liberation". They made a lot of people think they were free....then they convince them of being bisexual.....then being gay......now being trans.....I agree with Bill that is a trend.....but this trend was socially engineered long long ago. What is the end goal in here? You have many cultures in the east that are disgusted by all of this. It's a matter of time before these cultures will widen their differences to such a degree that it will clash in a world war. I fear for the future of my kids.

    • Which what's pretty funny about that, and here's the thing about previous generations of lgwifi password, is that it was about passing and blending in before, just like prior to the 2010s it was more about normalization and equal rights. Like nobody actually wanted to be outlandish than drag queens or whatever, most people were trying to pass or blend in and fly under the radar. This is the complete exact opposite. It's the same thing as with all these fake disorders, people with REAL disorders aren't trying to get attention, they are literally trying (and often failing) to do exactly the complete f'ing opposite which is to blend in. Like kids who have bipolar or narcolepsy or tourettes, the last thing ANY of those kids want to do is draw more attention to their disorder, it's unbelievably mortifying, you DON'T want people to know that you are depressed. Like with cutters, I think most cutters I knew had hidden them, some pretty well. This is why so many girls had them on inner thighs or ankles or some shit.

      @drek9k2@drek9k23 ай бұрын
    • @@drek9k2 One thing to always remember is that society as a whole follows trends. If something is hip and wild and makes you seem interesting, others will start copying it. If anyone thinks that young people arent willing to alter their identity in order to elevate their social media standing, they are delusional. When I was a kid the only people who had tattoos were bikers, convicts and ex-military. Seriously. Then tattoos became a popular way to show how unique and rebellious you were and next thing you know, everyone has tattoos. People become addicted to them. What they are really addicted to is the attention. "Hey, check out my new piece". Look at dreadlocks in the NFL. Originally there were one or two guys with dreads. Then 5. Now its 20 guys per team and now dreads are popular and trending upwards in the gen pop. The ultimate irony is that things become trendy because they are unique, different. As soon as they become trendy the uniqueness is gone. People are so anxious to stand out and be unique, that they fall in line with all of the other 'unique' people. Same applies to this topic.

I went thru the tomboy stage (boys activities were much more exciting) I felt twinges of same sex attraction when my close friends were girls and my hormones were activating, bought into the free love lifestyle, explored religions and spiritual enlightenment etc. I was allowed the freedom to be and to taste and test. No one labeled me as a set in concrete identity but depending on the observer ,I was variously viewed as tomboy, rebel, sinner (at times), activist, defender of infant life, ( after abortions) , truth seeker always, to the irritation ( understandably frequently) of some friends and former friends.. My point , If I had declared and identified permanently with any of those phases/seasons I would have stunted my growth. I would never have come to experience the peace ,confidence and love that I now posses by the grace of God. • I was a tomboy when I was a kid. Hated "girly" things, and despised those girls who screamed and snivelled at everything, which seemed to my eyes to be almost every girl except me. I wanted to be a cowboy (not cow girl) or failing that, a pirate, and I loved climbing trees. I was always with the boys, and they were happy to have me, apparently, since they never drove me away like they did with other girls. I was the despair of my mother, who desperately wanted a pink, frilly, girly girl. I'm still pretty much the same, but happily married with two kids. I like dressing up in nice clothes and jewellery at the appropriate time, though I'm probably happiest in jeans and boots on the farm with my horses. These days I would definitely have been steered towards gender change treatments, and probably have been miserable for the rest of my life. What people are doing to children now is utterly immoral. Joseph Mengele would have been proud of today's experimental child abusers.

      @noobicalnoob8073@noobicalnoob8073 Жыл бұрын
    • Not necessarily, he says the amount of lgbtq people coming out nowadays is more than double what it was a few generations ago. This is true but then he takes it to the conclusion that by 2050 everyone would be lgbtq, this is a logical falicy at best. Not everyone is gay or trans or what have you and being such isn't something that can be taught or forced into existence at any age, we know this because being straight isn't something that can be taught or forced into existence at any age, believe me we tried. Conversion therapy even back when it's practices were blatantly tantamount to torture it still didn't work. If it didn't work for gays it won't work for straights plain and simple. Now that we have that out of the way, with increasing acceptance of lgbtq people you will predictably see an uptick in population that identifies as such, but after a certain point that number will plateau, same way it happened for left handed people in the 1920s and 1930s, (when before even then being left handed was considered taboo). We saw the same growing of general acceptance, individuals who came out, and the same predictable plateau. not all people are left handed and not all people are lgbtq, that fact will not change. As for the puberty blocker stuff, we have over 30 years of research already put into the effects of it especially in children, considering one of its original purposes was to treat early onset breast cancer in children. The only real danger that is consistent across the board is very rare cases of temporarily reduced bone density. A lot of context is left out here and I don't blame Bill at all for it considering not everyone knows about this stuff yet but I'd imagine after a session of answering some of these questions we can clear up a lot of the misconceptions

Puberty blockers, GnRH analogues, administered with historical safety to children suffering from precocious puberty, since the early 80's, are only ever prescribed on a temporary basis, for a limited time period, during which patients are monitored for adverse reactions and side effects like loss of bone density. They would not be prescribed for a child as young as 9 unless that child exhibited precocious puberty. Also, I challenge anyone to identify any case where a 9 yr old has undergone genital sex reassignment surgery, as Maher implies here. @5:45 "Either Ohio is shaming them or California is creating them." Ohio Republicans are again seeking to restrict gender-affirming health care for transgender youth and prevent transgender girls from competing in female sports. Not "was a Tom Boy" (though she was) but actually got upset about having to wear something frilly for a formal event she was attending (maybe bar/bat mitzvah). She ended joining the army as a therapist working with soldiers suffering from PTSD. Always saw photos of her on social media in her fatigues with a pony tail. Then one day photos of her wedding showed up (to a man) and she was in a beautiful dress and I made a comment. She laughed and noted she really did hate dresses as a child, but doesn't mind wearing them from time to time now. Sadly, had she grown up today there might be an urge to make her something she wasn't. The girl just hated dresses, liked playing sports, and could kick the ass of any boy in her class (and was VERY proud of the fact she was from Texas)...but we all liked her because she was funny, hardworking, sweet, kind, tough, and 100% herself.

  • As an older gay man I have to concur with much of what he has to say. I find for instance the explosion in people who identify as nonbionary is something only a very rare few did back in the previous decades. A nonbinary person I spoke with spoke specifically about learning online what they were. My vibe of them - after getting to know them - is that they are a lesbian who is fairly masculine, not exactly an identity that needs a new category. In fact many older lesbian friends say fewer young people are identifying as lesbian, prefering to be nonbianary, which is a shame considering that those of us L and G people fought hard to make room for women to break the bonds of strict gender roles. As an older, white gay man I've also been told to shut-up, I have no right to have any input in the modern movement, a movement that I and the generations before me built! The truth is that the best statistics indicate we LGBT people make up around 4 to 5 percent of all humans. Truly trans people make up about one half of one percent of humans. That's a lot of people, but having people who dye their hair blue declaring themselves queer, just makes a mockery of those of us who were in fact "born this way."

Perhaps even Maher himself at one time experimented but at his age he would have known if it was found out he'd either have been castrated or put in prison. WTFup folks. He's a comedian and a homophobe. Given his face I'm surprised he can attract a heterosexual friendship. He must have to pay for it.

    • "There are a lot of people doing it for trends, excluding others, and not realizing how deep the bodily transition is and coming to regret it." While it is demonstrable that some small percentage of kids, specifically, not adults generally, may be unduly influenced by peer pressure, care-givers have become adept at identifying them. Those who are not actually trans do not manifest the hallmark qualities of "consistent, persistent and insistent" claims of, and discomfort with, their bodies as not being congruent with their gender experience, in the same way and degree evinced by trans kids. I've not seen any studies supporting your assertion that the two bad reasons you cite apply to, "a lot of people". Also, I'm skeptical of your claim of anyone's reasoning being based on the desire to exclude others, if that is indeed what you meant. This seems somewhat bizarre, especially in light of the trans population being THE group experiencing the codification of actual exclusion from crucial aspects of our society. There has been a virtual pandemic of increasingly draconian laws sweeping our nation which foment ever escalating levels of transphobia and transmisia, including that of many elected leaders. Apropo of just what, I'm not sure, but it is interesting the range where some choose the full complement of gender affirming treatments and surgeries while others seem most satisfied occupying the other extreme with a full spectrum in between. While all are low, the percentages of regret being reported do vary. By way of comparison, the number of those regretting transition is less than regrets from knee and hip replacement, for example. It is most relevant to remark that, according to a study by the NIH, as I recall it was 87% of those who detransitioned reported at least one external factor accounting for their regret. That is, after transitioning, they suffered from a lack of support, often facing opposition from, family, friends, co-workers/employers, landlords, roommates, medical caregivers, clergy and society in general. This detrimentally affected their lives in very real ways, including the provision of vital needs like housing, job/income and medical care. Sensationalized reports ascribing regret to internal concerns, e.g., one's gender confusion, while lamentable, represent a de minimis minority. Any policy prohibiting provenly efficacious, life-saving treatments to benefit an overwhelming majority of patients, having as its basis the terribly unfortunate anecdotal outcomes of a small few, is tantamount to malpractice. I'm confidant that there is widespread agreement that explicit diligence is necessary for potential applicants of any medical treatment, that they and/or their parents/guardians comprehend significant implications as fully as possible. GnRH analogues being commonly prescribed to children facing puberty are in lieu of commencement of medical transition, allowing all parties more time to determine if and how to proceed with treatment. • This perspective is a breath of fresh air and admittedly because I share the same perspective. The message is delivered in such a humorous way that I hope it is easier for people to see the irony in their own actions and to focus on that. We can all get caught up in our stupid decisions. Then we get wrapped up in the justification of something that ends up being harmful. Denial doesn't equal growth. Accepting and loving ourselves should be unconditional and not involve telling other people what to do or overreacting to their voiced opinions. Communicating our thoughts should never be compared to violent acts. That is done to keep people silent and compliant. We define ourselves throughout our lives which is a beautiful thing. Most people get stuck when they think they have to change to feel normal. Why is it that we can't all just embrace our uniqueness? Our unique feelings make up for the wonderful part of who we were meant to be. Love yourself and forget about generalities and what other people are thinking. We all need to lighten up. Thank you, Bill Maher.

    • But even here he still uses their false narrative that they are somehow oppressed and "Marginalised" How? They are the most promoted and protected group in history and have special privileges through "diversity quotas" heterosexual people don't have. In fact "affirmative action" of any kind actually actively discriminates against people outside of the specified privileged groups. The most marginalised people across the West by far are white heterosexual working class men who are vilified 24/7, just supporting Trump is unprecedented extremism according to the US government! Before that they were deplorable and they are scapegoated for every single social issue in America, how is that not marginalised? Identity politics is the very definition of discriminating between groups based on religion, race, gender or sexual proclivity - something they pretend they are fighting. The more they divide, the more they have power and so they must perpetually invent new divisions and there fore a new oppressed class and new oppressor classes. Identity politics is the the mechanism for this and even where there may be a hint of real oppression it is hijacked by the high Priests and Priestesses of the cult of Political Correctness for their own self promotion and empowerment. Every individual within a so called minority group these people attach a label to has their individual voices stolen and are then forever "represented" by these antihuman, anti freedom, Marxian social engineers. There are plenty of gay men, for example, who disagree with the LGBT agenda but are now too frightened to speak out. They understand that they won the arguments for equality and now this is a war against the traditional family and decent civil society based on Christian ethos and morality. This is simply turning vast swathes of people against them and this anger is fermenting silently because speech and debate are so oppressed. The longer we allow the tyranny to continue and thrive the higher the price will need to be paid if we are ever to be free once more.
