    • @@TheGuyCalledX what you're saying is true but your choice of words seem to have added a twist to things. they put it on hold due to not understanding the rules. the reason was legitimate increase in workload and tours and finance/staffing management. they misunderstood it as being able to put on hold. they didn't do anything with ill intent like hostage implies. now the person who took over should have just said flat out "no" if that was their intent. the person shouldn't have listened to twoset's legit reasons and pretended to give it back. this is because twoset will need to hire staff to keep it running once they take it back, so technically the person will own it and twoset will hire staff for that person for free. if that person wanted to take over, they should've just said flat out no. if they truly intended to return it, they would've listened to twoset's legit reason and gave it back. instead, that person did neither and wanted to own it while twoset and their staff runs it for them. that means twoset will burn money notknowing if the person wil give it back.

    • @@TheGuyCalledX they thought they could put it on hold while they went through a phase of restructuring and financial and staffing issues as they struggled to maintain it with their current abilities. they didn't understand the rules/ownership of reddit. on the other hand, it's weird you use negative connotations for twoset, but you auto assume the guy who took it is "heroic" and "fought" for all of us, when it's just as likely that person might've just wanted it (or any other reason). btw, twoset's reasons are real. they didn't actually put it on hold to make people feel bad. twoset explained all the reasons so the other guy knows twoset has to hire staff to maintain it if he gives it back. very weird the guy will let them do this, but wants to keep owning it (essentially twoset will hire ppl to work for that guy). i mean, if he did it for everyone (including twoset), then he should know twoset understand they need to maintain it, and will hire ppl to take it seriously. so if twoset asks for it back, his mission is accomplished. what he's worried about is losing ownership and not being able to claim it again (which wouldn't happen again anyway once twoset gets it back).

Maybe they had good intentions for the sub, but don't seem to have shown respect or consideration for the people who created it and who are the reason everyone is there. I can give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it's a young person without the maturity to consider beyond "You took my sub away! You bad! I bring justice!" ...It's not really a cool or kind way to go about revitalising the sub though. Sounds like people are enjoying having it back, so I'm happy for them, but sadly I'm probably going to leave the sub now. I tend to never enjoy subs with mods with attitudes like that.

    • I'm conflicted. Reddit users now get to get into LingLIng more. If Reddit always had this policy to unite people on a topic more so than offer celebs a platform to milk their status...hey isn't that actually quite an original and fair approach? Of course only if it was always that way beforehand. Else, TwoSet owning the Reddit would prevent the world of reddit discussing LingLing, as all posts bringing it up elsewhere would be sent off Reddit, Not good for Reddit freedom of speech. I see some plusses to such an approach.

    • Bro this makes perfect sense. Reddit isn't for people to have personal subreddits. They made a fan sub, couldn't maintain it, made it private, then someone else took over. People still want a forum to discuss the channel, and frankly it's better that they're not admins if they can't keep up with the responsibilities. The community should decide the rules, not just Brett and Eddy, curating content on their subreddit. This isn't an Instagram page. This is how Reddit has always worked. At least the sub hasn't been hijacked by Blink stans or something.

      @TheGuyCalledX@TheGuyCalledX4 ай бұрын
    • Reddit did nothing to them. They don't and never did own the subreddit. If you abandon a subreddit, then people can apply to take it over, which is the way things SHOULD work. It's a little disappointing that they take no responsibility and put it all on Reddit.

If they abandon it--which they did--then someone can request it, which is the way it works. I think sometimes creators don't understand what it is that makes people fall in love with their content. I've seen this happen with other creators. they lose the spark and automatically things that drew people in, isn't working anymore. it doesn't make them happy. they might quit content creating entirely. so it's actually good if people branch out and do different things. because it lets them explore what they wanna do or experiment in. and the audience who likes it always finds the new content. as a viewer it's completely fine for you to find creators who align with your tastes. but I don't think it's fair to ask content creators to create only the content you might enjoy.

Actually I was lately missing your old, cosy, more genuine videos, so I'm gonna jump right into your first talk :) On the topic of topics, I think mostly I liked some interesting back stories about some piece/symphonies, composers etc. Debunking myths or making some interesting points - really loved that! For instance, for me as a piano lingling, I was really surprised to find out how short pianos in the back days were and that Beethoven was always frustrated by it's limitations (F minor sonata uses the highest note there was achievable on the piano in his times - that's what I heard at least - now we have an octave+ more high notes). Or some of his love-story related pieces (moonlight sonata). Or Mozarts A minor sonata which apparently was written in memory of his mother who passed away. Would love to hear more about similar stuff (ofc not only piano! love the violin, it's on my bucket list to try it out one day).

  • OMG a podcast would be a dream come true. Listening to you guys nerding out about what you love in your educational videos has been my favourite thing ever to watch. A podcast would even mean collabs with other soloists and musicians as well. Can't wait for what's about to come in the future!!

I know you guys are already getting ready for tour but maybe some time could you guys come to Nashville TN? It's been a while and I would love to come see you guys, just a lot of the locations are far away from me. Just wanted to put a bug in your ear :D

  • You know, even though I highly appreciate new high quality content, I would be also very happy to see an "old format" video from a little studio with guys just reading reddit or doing charades about anime openings

    • @@e2pii213 I mean, a podcast is not *really* the same as the old content. Sure, it's somewhat similar but it has a very different feel to their older videos. People are allowed to miss previous video formats.

  • Because this is the rules of reddit, it's technically not theft. If the person taking over realizes they can do such a thing because they want to see the subreddit thrive and not because they are seeking viola player style malicious intent then more power to them but the fact that this person isn't allowing Brett and Eddy back is sus. It sounds like it could be some kind of extortion, but I'm not a lawyer.

  • Two set, I just want to say thank you for all of your posts. I started when I was 8 and I hated practicing and there was very little slight increase. I found your channel two years ago I think it was and it really got me to start practicing and learn all of this classical music. I do a thing for solos and when I was in 6th grade, in that year I started with doing two level 2s. The highest level is 6 btw. At the end of that year I found your channel and started practicing every day. Then I did all of sazuki book 4 in that summer! Then did one of them for the next solo competition which was a level 4, skipping level 3. Next then I did a level 5 and now this year I am doing the solo comp in less than a week and doing chardes or however you spell it and am starting a level 6 (highest level) right after that. And over the summer I am going to start Bruch violin concerto 3rd movement which has been one I’ve loved since hearing it in one of your videos! So thanks to your guys encouragement of practicing and ways of talking about music I went from witches dance to Max Bruch concerto in two years!

    • I'm sure they'll still be doing it. And they're damn lucky someone stepped in and saved the subreddit for them, because it was probably about to get deleted permanently. You cant just abandon a subreddit like that. It needs to either have active moderators, or be shut down completely.

  • Considering all of those things behind the ownership of lingling40hrs, I guess it might be a great idea to build a new subreddit owned by you guys as no one can predict what the actual admin would do to lingling40hrs.

    • Yup, this whole thing could have been avoided if twoset appointed a moderator team. The subreddit was pretty big and it's kind of unprecedented that they were seemingly moderating it themselves. There were plenty of people interested in helping them out before they stopped modding.

      @hester_of_ravenclaw@hester_of_ravenclaw4 ай бұрын
    • "Stealing" is not remotely what happened. The subreddit was abandoned for over two months, and could've been permanently deleted by now if someone hadn't done something to save it. A lot of what Brett and Eddy said here is factually incorrect, because they don't understand how Reddit works. No one "owns" a subreddit, and nothing was stolen. The subreddit was saved from being deleted for being unmoderated, so yes, that was definitely helpful. The whole community who uses the subreddit still has it, because that mod saved it from being removed from Reddit.

      @JScaranoMusic@JScaranoMusic4 ай бұрын
    • They didn't steal anything lol. TwoSet doesn't own the subreddit and they essentially abandoned it to focus on other things. An unmodded sub is dangerous - especially one that's filled with kids. I need y'all to be for real.
