In this video, I react for the first time to rapper NF performing 'Hope'. In this video, I analyse his amazing performance, explain and demonstrate their vocal techniques and I'll tell you what I think made it so great.
This was nothing short of epic. Everything from the video to his delivery were so inspirational!

  • Nf personifies his emotions and has been doing so his entire music career. This is the first time I have seen him since I started listening to him in 2014, that he has come out in all white dressed as hope. He has always worn all black and personified fear, anger, pride etc. This video was a huge triumphant pivotal tipping point for his fans. The song playing in the background when he was shoved is called “mansion”. It was a throwback to that song. The mansion is his mind.

  • interesting hearing your theories on the symbolisms in the video. The "ghostly" voice is the hook/chorus for one of his first big songs that kind of defines most of NF's music called "Mansion". The rooms are variations on album covers and places in his life he's been before.. up until this album most of his music has been very sad and depressing about dealing with fear, anger and depression.. but the nf "journey" sums up his life and almost every song references other songs. Still a brilliant breakdown

  • NF is a legend in writing lyrics. His song "Mansion" will always be one of the most meaningful written songs to me(And its also the song within the song after he falls through the scenes. That song is art in the most haunting way) The lyrics in that just hits. But at the same time, if it hits. Its not really a good thing. "Can you hold me" is also a really deep song. And he actually show some really good singing in that song. Rap is always very hit or miss for me. And what it often comes down to for me is the lyrics, the meaning. And NF really does write well.

I thoroughly enjoyed your insight, musical acumen, genuine connection to the lyrics, and celebration of how important his music/message is in this world. Your reaction was fantastic and I learned about the music theory, thank you! p.s. his new album title HOPEE releases April 7th! #NFrealmusic

  • Firstly loved the reaction. Welcome to the NF family (Outcasts) Now if you loved that you should take the long but very well worth journey. NF (Nate) has always been open about his feelings and mental health. (I think alot of artists are now using this to sing about, probably influenced by NFs success). He dropped his first main album in 2015 (Mansion), and the song Mansion is where the lady singing in Hope comes from. From start to finish is a complete story, each linking to another. But has easter egg clues in his videos. His had 1 radio release which has gone treble platinum. 4 main albums 1 mix tape and Hope album drops on 7th April. I would love to hear you syther through his master pieces. And if you go down the rabbit hole of NF, the outcasts will follow. ❤️ also I guarantee some of his songs will have you in tears

  • Thank you for amazing reaction Here is just a small "legend" of things in the video, if you feel like reading it Everything in this song is so connected to his old songs. In WHY he asked "Whats your definition of success?" and now he finally has his own definition. He also has the map of hope which he mentioned in song THE SEARCH, "Im looking for a map of hope, you seen it?" HE FINALLY FOUND IT The NF dressed in black is his dark side (i think its Fear specifically) and as you said his demon. He is still fighting it, and he gets thrown back into mansion, which is basically from song MANSION, where he explains all the rooms in his mind and his burdens. Balloons represent the burdens, he was always pulling a cart with black balloons attached to it with him in the album The Search and you can see the cart in the scene where he falls into the mansion. The cage and the keys are from song OUTCAST, where he is in the cage, trapped, but the person in cage is older, its the person from the LET YOU DOWN music video. Everything is so well connected and makes such an amazing story, and it just makes me appreciate everything he does even more.

  • Fantastic reaction. Unfortunately you came into chapter 10 of a novel. If you're interested in some other NF tracks I can recommend some...usually NF fans want people to take his journey because his music foreshadows and reminisces in all his tracks. I really enjoyed your breakdown. Cheers. Opening scene is NF singing to Hope to not give up on him he's making his way to him Then Hope comes in and says he has given NF his chance to deliver, but now it's Hope's turn to find NF. Then NF goes on with rapping and following the map he encounters Fear who misdirects him making him walk in circles. NF realizes that and walks away looking at the map. Fear gets angry and sends NF back into his mansion ( his mind). NF then goes through each room and faces past fears/burdens/failures and closes the door on each of them. Finally it's the epic battle between NF with Hope against Fear who fights to maintain control. Fear has always been NF's main attraction. You can hear Fear scream NO!! just before NF takes the reigns

Mansion song was played in when he dropped into house he had his outcast cage from his 2017 outcast song in it he had the old man from let you down in it that was not a demon that was the old him weighed down by burdens and mental health issues from all his past videos he dressed like that. His past self was trying to knock him back into the mansion with all the bad memories He had drifting song in this as he was drifiting paddle from lost single spoke of taking the reins from lost single in 2019 NF has been doing this since 2014 in his music. As for the style - I love the raw emotion it communicates. I love the musical breakdowns for each section as well. It's a different style of reaction, and the musical connections don't feel forced.

  • As someone who can appreciate the production and musical elements of the instrumentals, you will LOVE NF's music! You should definitely go on the NF Journey to truly appreciate the artistry embedded in NF's video symbolism and lyrics.

  • Really enjoyed your insight to a video I recently also appreciated. Your insight on Hi, Ren, another song that really spoke to me, was also excellent. Your enthusaism, coupled with music theory, married to an optimistic hope for humanity was very refreshing. I also have hope for humanity, and already see the perspective shift in my life.

  • Love your reaction, it was impressing how many things you picked up not knowing NF, his music is all connected, for example, someone who has followed Nf and listened to his older albums will appreciate and understand this song so much more, Nf fans call it " the journey" it's basically going back to the start and listening to everything he released before to fully understand his story, it's so worth it, you should definetly do it !

  • Oh my GOD! I'm beaming as two of my favourite musical discoveries of the pandemic finally cross paths. Lolli, you're going to love the NF journey you'll envitably go on... The juxtaposition of black and white is the culmination of fear meeting hope, and as an NF fan I'm so excited to see how Nate handles this. He's an incredible rapper, wordsmith and as you say, it's amazing that someone is talking about such emotional topics in a raw and honest way. I love and respect what he's doing, and your reactions have always been so incredibly earnest... The two of you are a perfect match. 😊 If there was one song to react to of his next, I'd say STORY. The filmmaking side of it will simply blow you away. Thank you for your reactions and authenticity - it adds something reaffirming for so many of us who want to be brave and feel emotions when listening to music. ❤️

  • You're really cute with your genuine energy and passion, I see 0% of fakeness in you reacting to music. Also you sound like a genius when talking about vocals even about rapping or growls which is very impressive because I assume these are not your favourite vocal technics and you still nail it. Loved your reaction and analysis of this one, I saw you felt it. Stay safe and live forever.

  • De verdad creo que eres el mejor canal de reacciones musicales y vocales. Siempre entiendes los sentimientos detrás de las letras y detrás de la voz que canta las letras. Sigue así por favor

  • I absolutely love your musical analysis of this song. This song and video relates back to almost all of his music and gives the people who have been with him through his journey something extra special. Do yourself a favor and go back to watch his videos and rewatch this one. You'll see that "Mansion" is the "other realm" he fell into. It's his "mind palace." Each room he steps into is an album he created. The Raft is from drifting. The paddle on the raft is from Lost. The map on the island is the map to hope referenced in The Search. The black balloons are his burdens. Like I said, as someone who's been along for this journey for a while, it feels like he made this song for us.
