"No one wins a slam for no reason" made all sense today. For me the best solo perfomance of the season some points Emma made were just out of this world. The match against Azarenka last year was better. But it is without doubt the strongest week for Emma since the US Open 21.

What a performance from Raducanu. Haddad Maia, a 6ft 1inch colossus, threw the kitchen sink at Emma and she returned it with interest. What guts, what belief. She just loves tennis, loves competing. A huge step forward!

It's actually much better than 2021 USO, much more powerful now. And that BH is just a thing of beaut, esp. CC and when she leans into it, easily the most beautiful and stylish shot in all of women's tennis.

Completely agree. There are many little demons out there and unclean spirits who want to derail God's precious creation. But no worries, the liars and the father of all lies had already been defeated by the blood of Jesus in Calvary. God is in control of all things He created and all they can do is harass without power. And the Devil is already judged and his little minions and they are heading to a place where the fire cannot be quenched.

This was a scintillating match. Emma dominated the first set. Beatriz was a beast in the 2nd set. I thought Emma was down and out but she fought hard in the 3rd set and eventually prevailed. Great match. Respect to both tennis players.

What a match! A standing ovation for both players As a Brit living in Brasil it was difficult to choose sides but ultimately I had to go with Emma. She's a great talent that should give Iga a real test in the next round. Parabéns pra todos!

She has to fake injury to win matches so opponents downplay her. Truly she isn’t injured but it’s a mental tactic just like what Nadal and Djokovic do.
In terms of talent she is absolutely MILES ahead of the likes of Sloane Stephens and Bianca Andreescu. I hope she proves the doubters wrong.

Im crying.. For 18 months I’ve always been on her side waiting for her to comeback. Because the performance she gave during 2021 season with wimbledon and USO were unforgettable and now we get to see it coming again.. I’m glad I stayed 🥹

You could see how in the last matches of the last season, and at the 2023 AO, even when she was losing early in the tournaments her tennis was visibly a tad stronger. She found her rhythm and confidence again. I wonder when was the last time she went past the third round, and Maia is not an easy win.

there is more force in Hadad Maia's raspy grunt than in her shots!!! Raducanu deserves this win for being the more gutsy and risk-taking player.
This is the first time since the US Open 2021 that I've seen evidence that Emma could be a top player in the future and not just a 1 slam wonder. Those groundstrokes she was hitting, particularly in the first set were as hard, fast and penetrating as anything you'll see from the WTA Top 10, Iga aside. I don't expect much at all in the next match but that's only because Iga is a cut above the rest and has the eye of the tiger at the moment.
Emma, I never had lost trust on you. This is the Emma that we have been missing.

Well, Well, Well. I enjoyed this match immensely and what a great another performance by Emma Raducanu. She is coming back really strong and it showed from the 1st, 2nd, and the 3rd round playing against a worthy opponent who had a really good start since last year. Emma has proven again with her skills, talents, and abilities since her Grand slam win of the U.S. Open. She has really extended her game to the next level which will bring her ranking back up to the top ten in the world. That was a very impressive performance which no one can deny and I'm expecting she will do even better in the upcoming tournaments in the WTA. Her team and the new coach are working good together for her fitness well-being and a better strategic plan going forward. Once again, congratulations Emma and your Team!

After all the problems she had last year, it's great to see her putting some wins together against decent opponents. Hopefully, this year will be much better for Emma ans she can start to properly find her feet on the tour. What a win. Haddad Maia was not a pushover. She is in #13 and had a number of big names under her belt in the past 12 months (Iga, Rybakina, etc.) I didn’t think Emma can win this, but she did, get it done after a tough match, exactly what we want to see. Wish her the best in the next round!

Great performance from Emma 👏🏻 It’s clear what direction she’s heading in as a player which, in my opinion, is going to be controlled aggression. She’s too well-rounded to be a pure “ball-basher”, she’s not a Sabalenka and she’s too powerful and aggressive to be a counter puncher like Svitolina, she’ll fall somewhere in the middle. She’s definitely getting stronger, her forehand is powerful when she flattens it out, her Backhand is so fluid and rock solid, and she hit some of her fastest serves ever this week, a few topping out at 116 mph, and I think once her wrist is better and as she continues to get stronger I can see her probably getting it up to 120mph which is a real weapon. Her second serve is also significantly faster than most, usually averaging around the mid 90’s. I think in the next year or so Emma will start looking very dangerous 🙌🏻
I wonder if anyone is questioning whether Emma is the real deal now? She has emphatically declared that she is!

Emma's body is adjusting to the rigours of the tour now. Her physicality is fastly improved fro m 12 months ago. should see her results start to improve now. She is an absolute weapon :)

Not quite as her wrist hasn't quite healed yet, when she's completely injury free she's capable of beating anybody,Iga included. People forget that what Emma accomplished by winning the US Open as a qualifier has never been done before and arguably one of sporting greatest ever achievements.

Huge win for Emma. That first set was something that would likely scare anyone in the top 10, but she still needs to maintain her high level throughout. Either way, this win will likely be VERY important for her and her the rest of her season. Something tells me she might be back, and we'll see 👀
