Kevin Durant and Draymond Green’s beef bled from an on-court dispute to free agency decision

2022 ж. 28 Қаң.
686 440 Рет қаралды

The spiciest part of this beef is most likely Draymond allegedly calling teammate KD the b-word (not butt-face). Rarely gets more spicy than that. But don't let that heat distract you from the myriad of other flavors in this beef! I'm talking a free agency, suspensions, coaches choosing sides, and more.
This beef was quick, and KD and Draymond might want us to pretend it never happened, but not only did it happen, it and played a role in breaking up the most super super team we've ever seen.

    • Agreed. Draymond is and always has been critical of everyone around him, for good reason, and should have been able to take the heat when he messes up. Draymond should’ve either let KD get that rebound and get the last second shot or get the rebound and take responsibility for turning it over. However, KD also made a mistake. He shouldn’t have kept clapping and staying behind, he should’ve hustled back, get open so draymond could pass to him.

  • As a Warriors fan, I always knew KD was never going to finish his career in the Bay Area. That's why I had so much fun watching those three seasons. Just knowing there was a shelf life to this point in time made me more appreciative of the moment. Remember, growing up, nobody wanted to be here. Everybody took the trade or moved to a different team when they got the chance. It was a breath of fresh air when Curry as a rookie promised they would "figure it out." It was refreshing when Klay and Draymond established a core. It was mind blowing when they were able to get a guy of KD's caliber to come in.

KD had one foot out from the day he got to GS but Draymond went to far in his comment on the sideline in front of the whole world to see. The worst part is how bad it seems that management handled the situation.

    @Islington_Express_Bus@Islington_Express_Bus2 жыл бұрын
    • This argument comes up every time this play is shown and it’s just shows ignorance of the warriors strategy and Green’s value. Dray running the fastbreak and finding Klay/KD in semi-transition is an INSANELY efficient play, more so than a (still quite good) KD contested pull-up from 27 feet. You can’t just call it a bad play because it resulted in a turnover, it’s a good play with a bad ending. Dray keeps the handle tighter towards the end and he finds a wide-open Kevon Looney for the game and all of a sudden it’s a genius decision for generating a layup to end the game. Such bullshit to see people say they’d prefer KD taking a difficult shot than have the best playmaking big in the league at the time try to create an easier shot for him. I get why it pissed off KD, but to actually complain about the play as a fan shows a lack of bbiq.

  • Both times he left a team he blamed management and the organization. In OKC he hated the fact the the team wasn't built correctly around him and Russ, which is reasonable. OKC for some reason refused to sign and/or trade for 3 and D players. The team had good players but nobody, except for KD and Anthony Marrow, could shoot. I don't blame him for leaving OKC, knowing Sam Presti if KD re-signed and they didn't win a championship in 2 or 3 years, he would've just traded him and Russ for a historic amount of picks. The Warriors situation is completely different though. If anything the Warriors handled the argument between KD and Draymond correctly. Maybe the suspension was a little bit unwarranted but they wanted to show that they weren't taking it lightly. Draymond was right about one thing though; The Warriors obviously wanted KD more than they wanted him. Especially since the last year they played together Draymond looked like he was declining really badly. If KD wanted to stay I have no doubts that they would've traded Draymond to get the max for him. You can't really blame them though, now Draymond looks like the old Draymond but for a good few years he looked like one of the worst starters in the league. So the fact KD doesn't mind throwing false shade at management just because he wants to be buddy buddy with Draymond again is definitely astonishing. Especially since management were clearly trying to get on his good side and treated him much better than they did Draymond for three years.
