Brilliant clip from Mad Men Season 5, Episode 1, when Roger Sterling checks out Joan's baby.
Brilliant clip from Mad Men Season 5, Episode 1, when Roger Sterling checks out Joan's baby.
He's holding that baby like "...Am I supposed to be feeling something? I don't feel anything... Damn, Joan is hot."
I can definitely hear Roger’s inner monologue going something like that.
At this point, has Joan told Roger that he is the father?
@@JudgeJulieLit She told him when she found out she was pregnant.
@@chechiwanyangu3568 Thank you for your reply.

Such a classic 60s moment. How well I remember this sort of thing. Probably saw my dad do this - admiring a baby, cigarette dangling from his lips.
I guess ppl started coming to senses after rampant spread of cancer......
@Jack Rubble hypothetical question: what if you get a magic wand right now which will make you a black.....would you like to be a black person with that hair, nose and skin color...and constant gaze....reply honestly...and you dont have to be politically correct about it....theres anonymity here and I wont judge. I know I wouldnt...wouldnt want to look a black...🙈
@@user-yk5xu8gr1e I personally would love to have that '' hair, nose and skin color '' 😘
@@user-yk5xu8gr1e what the fuck
@@imthecourtjester about what dear...
Died laughing when he did the impression... Hahaha
Roger really gets back into the swing of things in season 5. I love how he handles meeting his secret son for the first time. Priceless.
"Let me see that..." Haha what?
Wasn’t that his kid too?? Lol
I love how he puts the cigarette in his mouth when he holds the baby, and takes it OUT of his mouth when he puts it down again.
Well how is he going to hold the baby if he has a cigarette in his hand ? It's completely logical really
Joan is so calm as Sterling. Honestly, their definition of a non standard relationship are ahead on time.
I love that scene when Peggy takes all his cash.
He really needs to carry less cash on him 💸💸
Reminds me of one of the first episodes when Betty is at home with the kids and Sally goes running by with a bag over her head. Betty calls her back to talk to her and just says something like "No running through the house" while the bag over Sallys head completely covers her mouth whenever she breathes in😂
It was even as parental as no running in the house, I believe it was the dry cleaning from that bag better not be on the floor.....or hung up, something like that. 🤣🤣🤣
That was in one of the first promos for the show as well.
Yes! Without missing a beat, Betty tells Sally that if the clothes from n that dry cleaning bag are on the floor of the closet, she'll be one very sorry young lady. 😅🤦
@@ntom5579 "Mommie dearest," '50s style.
There is another scene of Betty in a gold outfit, and in the background Sally with a lampshade over her head.
lmao! to be honest i was waiting for the baby to have grey hair..
Hands up Gen X kids who got burned by an adult's cigarette.
At End where he answers the telecom. He dug deep to those Navy days on that one.
I love Roger Sterling! He's a hot older man.
Love this show. So nuanced and immersive ❤️
Thanks for posting, I've been trying to find this clip.
Classic Roger
My memory of 1960's is watching my dad and his friends finish hiking 10 miles with my brothers boy scout group and all 3 dad's had cigarettes hanging out. Oh, no seatbelts or car seats either
I'm a child of the '60s and this and this how most parents handled babies, cooking, cleaning and disciplining their kids. Hahahahaha
Father of the year.
The doctor is probably smoking cigarettes too. Those were the good all days.
I have a tendency to refer to babies for its first 2 years as "It", "Thing" or "that". A lot of mothers don't like me.
And now I’m imagining myself doing that at work feels awkward
No car seats for babies either.
I was born just after WWII....and I was burned many times! ..... LOL, I got over it.
It's the LSD.
Wendy from Mom!
mantis is fictional still I am so jealous of Roger . with Joan im not stopping before 15 kids
too bad he tried LSD later in the season! get swagged on
Whole show was the epitome of sexism, misogyny, and mentally trying to drag down women. And please don’t say it was the era...even in the late 70s and early 80s it was still sadly around.
Wow Stephanie, did you need a PhD to figure that one out? You should consider running for office with that big brain
That might've played in 2010, now you just sound like a moron.
It still is but with more subtle hints
@Graf von Losinj Caruful with that masculinity boy, it looks fragile lol. I don't agree with you, the sexist, classist and racist system is held in place because of the actions of the people in it. The two go together. And I hate to break it to you, but there are still too many rapists and neo-nazis out there to say that mEn dOnT gEt Up iN tHe MoRnInG pLoTtiNg To DrAg WoMeN dOwN. Start taking responsibilities for your actions. The quicker people start doing so, the faster we can move on to better things. And I include myself in that, because I'm not perfect either lol.
Ok Karen, I mean "Stephanie."
