In today's vlog I talk about some big changes that are coming with running a small business as an artist and talk about rebranding and sharing some of the brand design process.
I share a sneak peek of my website changes and reveal the collaboration I mentioned back in late February and we finally have some brand new bookmark designs coming to the shop!
As always, thank you guys for your support. Every view, like, comment, subscribe, it all means the world.

  • Thank you so much for your honesty and vunerability in this vlog its great to know that not everything hangs on perfection first time around as an almost small biz owner, almost there for launch, myself it takes pressure off. I am genuinely so excited for this journey for you and i love your updated branding colours which i feel incoporate the element of nostalgia so well and would love to see nostalia aspect in your tagline, it gives a warm memories feeling just like that sunset orange, amazing, well done and i wish you the absolute best for the future with your buisness ❤😊

    • Thank you, that’s so so lovely of you, I really appreciate that. I absolutely think the first year to 18 months is where you can really learn and grow and not have to have the pressure of perfection (which is easier said than done, I know). Good luck on your launch! 🫶🏻☺️

  • I think the name change is fine. You've made the decision and are turning down that path - so just go with it and no regrets or worry. I'm just starting a small business (so my youtube name will change) and I would love to learn more about branding from you. I like "designs" or "creates" for your new name - maybe you would even include the word "nostalgia" somehow since it resonates so much with you? I enjoy your videos :) Thanks.

    • Oh thank you, I really appreciate that ☺️ you’re right, definitely embrace the change and go for it. I’ll film a full update video once the change happens and dedicate it to branding. You’ll have to let me know your new name so I recognise you when it changes 🫶🏻

    • Oh hiiii! I love it when I find out how people found me 😊 that makes me feel better though that so many people have felt the same as they evolve. Feels less scary when you’re reminded that it’s actually quite common. Thank you! 🫶🏻

  • Hi Nicola, thanks for sharing all this. I'm just trying to start my small business & I finding it really hard, especially being 50 & suffering with Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue. If you can offer me any advice I'd be very grateful x

    • Hi! Well firstly congratulations because making that decision is a big deal in itself. But honestly, my best advice would be a two parter. I have Crohns Disease and just the fatigue from that (which is nothing like Chronic Fatigue I imagine!) hits like a bus sometimes so I have had to learn to plan my weeks as best I can and practice balance (and I’m not the best at it yet). If I’m pushing myself hard through the week, I take a good part of the weekend off. My second, less cliche advice, is if you’re able to, look into a community like Emily Harvey’s, either via Instagram or Patreon. She has a lot of fellow small business owners there who suffer with chronic illnesses and they’re really inspiring and motivating. I hope this is helpful but you can always drop me a message any time x
