  • I lost my Mom 2022🤧 so I actually took all the sympathy cards and made my first Junk journal. I titled it "I love you to the moon and back" Still adding little things . Thank you for great tips still new at this so learning.

  • Talking about going down a rabbit hole. I hardly ever watched KZhead until about two years ago myself. One channel took me to another to another. So much art in so many different forms has entered my life and my small craft area.

  • I’m so glad that there’s a creative way to store all of these things! I’m a person that gets sentimental over the tiniest of trinkets or objects that some people wouldn’t think another minute of. I’ve always kept little things like valentine cards, papers my friends gave me, etc. i never knew what to do with it, but at the same time I don’t want to throw it away. I’ll definitely try this out, it seems so fun!!

    @vivi8640@vivi86404 жыл бұрын
    • I hope you do try it out! It's addicting and a perfect way to preserve those little things you collect. It's amazing flipping through one once it's been filled up. It's like you made art out of your memories.

    • I’m very happy to report that I have made it! I finished it a few hours ago, and it was really nice looking at something that was created completely by myself. I’m really excited to fill it up with my memories!

    • I feel and do the exact same thing! People don't seem to understand me though so I stopped talking about it, my friend once tore a paper I had wanted to put in my notebook, we're still friends but I'm not sure why she did that.

  • My very first JJ was made up of post cards, birthday and Christmas cards etc. that my grandfather sent to my grandmother when he was courting her (this was around 1915). It took me three years to put together. I included quite a lot of ephemera from around that time, photos of them and their family. I gave it to my daughter who is into genealogy and heritage .. she loves it and keeps it as a reference for her genealogy ...

  • There’s a lot of different ideas of what a junk journal is. Some look at it as how you’re talking about it, and others look at it as a book made out of all junk pieces. I believe a junk journal, or any journal, can be whatever we perceive it to be 😊

  • When I was in high school I went to the movies all.the.time. And I would always glue my movie ticket stubs into a notebook and write down a review of the movie and who I went with and how I felt and all that and did the same thing for concert tickets. I think I finally threw it out a few years ago but this is a cool concept.

If I am remembering correctly, I think I read that junk journals also started at a time when paper was a precious commodity and people didn't have money to spend on much more than necessities. So, if they had an old ledger or some kind of registry they would reuse it and paste things that they wanted to keep inside. Thank you for sharing your creative journals.
