    • Her range now is WAY easier accessed. It's obvious she's really worked on her technique in songs like this. Even in The Only Exception, she used to ALWAYS dodge the higher notes but now she never shies away from them and they're not really even a challenge for her now.

    • You can definitely feel the emotion in this song. Back when it came out, I remember how much it felt like a punch to the gut. This live performance left me speechless and in tears because you can definitely tell that she’s truly tapping into somewhere emotionally, painfully deep in the way she is executing her voice.

  • I'm so glad she did this. I know some sources were saying she never did it live before because she didn't think she'd be able to hit the high notes in her current condition, but I feel like it makes more sense that way. Back then, this song in her teens/early adulthood could have been that young girl screaming after her first love, while now, what she musters seems more like a heart-wrenching cry to a life-long partner who slipped from her grasp. The matured nature of her voice just breathes new meaning into the song. God bless this band

  • I was always so confused as to why Hayley didn't sing this song live. If I can belt out every note like nothing, she surely has been able to do it this whole time. But then imagine doing that song every night on tour for weeks or months. It's by far her most difficult song to sing and considering that, you can see why she avoided doing it. I'm just glad she finally got the strength to start doing it live reguarly!
