In this Dubai international airport arrival we arrive on an Emirates flight from Cairo Egypt at 1am. As you will see the Dubai airport is still super busy even at 2am when we are looking for a taxi. This is an arrival at Terminal 3.

I love Dubai airport for connections because unlike other western airports, Dubai has most shops and food courts are open 24x7. Once my flight to Dublin from JFK was delayed and everything was closed after 9PM.

it's so big because of how many A380s it needs to accommodate. i'd imagine the terminal requires some incredible air conditioning system. but you'd think they should have some train to get down the concourse more quickly, kind of like Miami or Detroit. that baggage claim, dayum! More palace than airport

Do you have to go through body scan/security/drug dogs all over again once you arrive? Only bringing a carry on. This whole process seemed so quick. Staying for 2 nights before my flight leaves for Africa. Never been on vacation overseas

I arrive at 1 the metro will be closed where I stay I don't know and the hotels do not check in at night and the airport is closed at night

The holder of American passport goes through immigration officer or through smart gate?
You can do smart gate if you have been to Dubai before with that passport. For example for me. It was my first time with that passport so I had to process through the regular lines. But next time I can do smart gate as long as its with that same passport. But if I have new passport I will have to go through the line again.

Yes but it moves very fast
What a big air port and for above 60 years its not easey to go on walk from a board to exit gate

Most useless and confusing air port on the planet. Authorities do not know how to run the badly designed mess.Avoid Dubai as possible as you could for a peaceful journey.
