Howard Zinn Lecture Series: Howard Zinn, Bringing Democracy Alive

2024 ж. 22 Мам.

Howard Zinn calls for the impeachment of President George W. Bush and Vice President Richard Cheney. Zinn accuses the Bush administration of starting a "war of aggression" against Iraq and the American public. He argues that the government and its "warmongering" organs - the mass media and the congress - are not to be relied on for information and exhorts Americans to stop believing that government has the interest of the people in mind.

    • Howard Zinn was a Communist who despised the United States and presented a false narrative concerning our history, very much in the fashion of the 1619 Project that came later in 2020, funded by the corporatist "paper of record" the NY Times. All bogus history by Zinn and his later acolytes The 1619 Project is a long-form journalism endeavor developed by Nikole Hannah-Jones, writers from The New York Times, and The New York Times Magazine which "*aims to reframe the country's history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of Black Americans at the very center of the United States' national narrative.*

  • Basics here - remove lobbyists and political fundraising as a whole. Laws are not created for the people. Laws are created for lobbyists and special interest groups. How could any bill not be clearly explained to the people with all of its ugly riders. The people would realize the system is severely broken in the first quarter that this happened. The people need to take their power back without faction driven ridiculous activities. People love to be blind and argue today’s fed or state topics which is useless. Step back- review the machine- you’re never asked nor educated on the raw details of any bill on its way to law. The people with a vote is deemed nearly useless as a result. Wake up. 🎉❤

    • Oh I've come to my own conclusions and concluded that Zinn doesn't even go far enough... Ever hear about the cartel murders in Mexico that are happening nowadays? You can lay that all at the foot of prohibition because that's where all the money is coming from for these lunatics guns and ammunition and political protection... Without prohibition, the market would be regularized, and not one gram of substance would have to come through these maniacs... This is what unregulated capitalism produces,, and Zinn doesn't even suggest that Wall Street has to be completely destroyed for any progress to take place in America...

  • This author cherry-picks and distorting the history of the United States. Below is information from a book critiquing the errors. What's the process of reviewing and extracting this book from Fairfax County Public Schools distribution? Mary Graber's new book, Debunking Howard Zinn: Exposing the Fake History that Turned a Generation against America: "Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States has sold more than 2.5 million copies. It is pushed by Hollywood celebrities, defended by university professors who know better, and assigned in high school and college classrooms to teach students that American history is nothing more than a litany of oppression, slavery, and exploitation. Zinn’s history is popular, but it is also massively wrong. Scholar Mary Grabar exposes just how wrong in her stunning new book Debunking Howard Zinn, which demolishes Zinn’s Marxist talking points that now dominate American education. In Debunking Howard Zinn, you’ll learn, contra Zinn: How Columbus was not a genocidal maniac, and was, in fact, a defender of Indians Why the American Indians were not feminist-communist sexual revolutionaries ahead of their time How the United States was founded to protect liberty, not white males’ ill-gotten wealth Why Americans of the “Greatest Generation” were not the equivalent of Nazi war criminals How the Viet Cong were not well-meaning community leaders advocating for local self-rule Why the Black Panthers were not civil rights leaders Grabar also reveals Zinn’s bag of dishonest rhetorical tricks: his slavish reliance on partisan history, explicit rejection of historical balance, and selective quotation of sources to make them say the exact opposite of what their authors intended. If you care about America’s past-and our future-you need this book. There are several other critical reviews of this so-called historian news.stanford.edu/news/2012/december/wineburg-historiography-zinn-122012.html . www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/2012/07/lies-the-debunkers-told-me-how-bad-history-books-win-us-over/260251/ .
