Hello Everyone and Welcome to another LA Kings Video!
Well, this is the end of the line for the LA Kings. We have loss, 4-1 in the series. But that's not going to stop me from reviewing their game and talk about what they did right, wrong, and more. Who shined, who didn't? Was the "Ice Titled"? Who knows...
If you have been watching my reviews, thank you for all your support. This final game was a big one and I have a lot to say about it. Kings fans, I really want to hear from you all and how you felt about this game in particular. I'm no expert, but I'd like to believe I'm unbias and have a clear objective view of how things played out. The Oilers deserved to win and continue onto the next round and I love to discuss why that is.
And as always, this is just my opinion and comments. I'm not Pro Hockey Player or special analyst for a career - I just want to give my opinion on the Kings. I feel strongly about what I have to say, but what I say is what I believe and may or may not align with anyone else's opinions. Let me know in the comment section down below if you agree or disagree and we can talk about how the Kings can improve together for next year! :D
As Always, GO KINGS GO!

  • It's human nature to blame others for ones lack or inability to win

    • Yeah kings were doomed from the start. But theres no excuse for such poor officiating in the playoffs. In this series it didnt and wouldnt change anything but it could cost another better team everything.

  • This reminds me of the late 90s and early 2000’s when the oilers were a basement team and would take a 100 dumb penalties when we played Colorado, the Stars and Detroit. It was the only way they could slow those teams down, but all it came down to is those teams were better than the oilers back then. The Kings just ran up against a team that played better, won all special teams play etc. the kings have a lot of heart, Kopi is probably one of my favorite “non-Oilers”. I just respect the hell out of how he plays the game. Great series…Oilers were better.

    • Hey, finally someone who isn't insulting me personally :D Thanks for the comment. Yeah the Kings for sure didn't play at a level worthy of the playoffs. Players like Dubois, Fiala and Moore needed to score more but sadly didn't. Lot's of disappointment throughout the lineup.

  • In all fairness to LA, they put up a better fight than I expected, tbh. I didn't think it was gonna be a 4-0 sweep or anything, but, I did expect them to be handled a bit more than they were. LA is kinda teetering on that 'retool' phase, with most of their prime key stars, being in their twilight years. Namely, Doughty and Kopitar. They drew the absolute worst possible opponent for their 1-3-1 style in Edmonton. Edmonton is a team that's still on the rise. They still haven't peaked. They will be even better next season. I was expecting LA to miss the playoffs at season's start, and near the end, I thought they would still fall out at some point. Dubois though, my God. The moment I saw that deal for PLD, I cringed. I didn't need to see him play a single game for LA, to know that was an absolutely atrocious deal, and imagine if LA still had Iafallo and Valardi in this series. Could have swung a game or two. My favs are, in order, EDM, NYI, LAK. Never a huge fan of seeing these two face each other, as one of my favs is sure to be out. I will be curious to see what Blake does with this team during the summer though.

    • Well said my friend :D And yeah I made a video on that Dubois trade (thumbnail said: Kings are Doomed). I was right from day 1 about that trade. And in the end, the Kings' Star Players needed to score more. Namely season leading goal scorere Moore, Fiala, Dubois, and Arvidsson. I'm not surprised by the result, but I sure wish we could have push a Game 6 or 7 at least.

  • I think we’re all forgetting of how many calls the refs didn’t call against the kings. The kings were warned on ice about some plays that needed to be stopped. This is why people think that there were some weak calls. The kings didn’t listen and calls were made. Not that it mattered, the kings PP was an absolute joke anyways and the kill was just as bad

  • Nobody wants to talk about the King's closing their hands on the puck in the crease in game 2 with a few minutes left in the 3rd (automatic penalty shot) getting missed? That gets called and good chance oilers could have wrapped this up in 4

    @kevincarsales@kevincarsales14 күн бұрын
    • never happened, let's see a picture or video in any quality of all 5 fingers closing on the puck in the crease... oh and btw the goalie can close his hand on the puck if you didn't know

      @arthurmovsesyan9770@arthurmovsesyan977014 күн бұрын
    • @kevincarsales technically there's no evidence showing that a player covered the puck. Basically the ref should have blown the whistle to stop play, or he was still able to see it until the goalie did save it. But either way, the outcome of the Kings losing was because of lack of goal scoring so Oilers deserved to win the other games anyways.

  • Of all the games in the series, the 5th one is the only one I saw that the Kings could have a beef with the officiating, there were a couple weaker calls against them, but the rest of the series was as even as it gets, I didn't feel it was a factor at all. The actual special teams though, were definitely the factor, the Oilers absolutely decimated the Kings on the powerplay and on the penalty kill which completely decided this series. I wouldn't be down on the Kings at all if I were a Kings fan, there are some very very good building blocks on the team, Byfield and Kempe are monsters out there and Doughty and Kopitar are still elite. Dubois was a terrible trade right from the beginning, and it's worked out even worse than could have been predicted, so that was unfortunate for sure. I would say that with all the talent they have on the team, they need to get away from that horrid 1-3-1 defensive system and play to their skill, I think they'd be more successful.

    @Marixa1979@Marixa197913 күн бұрын
    • I agree about Dubois obviously, and the 1-3-1 sure. But the problem as I've stated in the past and will in the future is about the young players/new core that aren't producing. Moore, Byfield, and Fiala needed to score goals but they didn't. Contributions this series exclusively came from the top players. Byfield got assists, but he needs to pinch in more goals here and there. As for penalties, one can argue left or right throughout the series. Some I agree, others I don't. Some you agree, some you don't. We're all able to debate that, but at the end of the day I'm not denying the Oilers played much better than the Kings.

    • The team really need to look themselves in the mirror and think to themselves: "Did I do everything I could to help us win?" Personally, as you heard in video, I don't think they did. Or some of them at least. They need to do better. Let's hope we have a better team next year.

  • Jets fan here. Can’t stand the oilers. That being said: At no point in this series did the Kings look competitive. There are no arguments to be made about the officiating.

    • You're totally right, the Kings just didn't put in enough "effort". I've used that as the key word for the King's season this year.

  • Either way, they had many other games to fix all their issues. Oilers were just the better team overall. LA Kings also didn't score on a single powerplay. They didn't deserve to win, so the officiating here wouldn't have changed the outcome.

    • Yep, Like I said, Oilers did deserve to 100%. But it isn't just this game, or the series - other games around the league have had some very questionable calls. I would just like to see some consistency. Oh well, better luck next year.

    • You clearly didn't watch/listen to whole video. Education: That's 3 straight years in playoffs so don't know what rock you've lived under. Secondly, I didn't complain about 100% all calls, and in fact defended the officials in half the instances. 3rd, I also said regardless of the officiating, Oilers 100% deserved to win the series; even before the series began the Kings looked bad going in. So how about you chill, maybe watch the whole thing, then try again :D because I was never mad to begin with.
