Ian Maatsen was treated like he wasn’t a good player at Chealsea. Gets loaned out to Dortmund, plays fantastic, scores against Athletico Madrid, wants permanent move. Not surprised haha
No. The manager was forced to have to introduce height into the team while simultaneously having to juggle a Chelsea starlet promised game time. Maatsen was seen as collateral and a sellable asset that would not upset fans.

I feel like signing for Man United is the single worst decision a talented player on the rise can make. So many promising players fail there, and even if you revive your career afterwards it has hurt your reputation
Not like the players help themselves
Yeah after SAF the club has not developed any noticible talent

Sometimes the money is to good to turn down
He's not that talented. He moved for HUGE money, couldn't handle the pressure- was given EXCEPTIONAL treatment by United's current manager only to attack him a few months later. I get that people hate United but come on. It's as much about the character of these players as it is the awful state of the club since Ferguson.
Better headline “Man remembers to run”
Time to go for a run, you mean
Like how you thought up 3 examples, KDB, Salah, Pulisic, and didn't clock all 3 failed (to different levels) at Chelsea
2 have them had better players ahead of them and Chelsea is injury FC no way if pulisic stayed he would be fit
De Bruyne and Salah were both young players at a top Chelsea side too. They were not stars and didn’t really get a chance. When they did elsewhere they were immediately excellent and have continued to be for their full careers. Criticising young players for not breaking into one of the top teams as being a bust is insane. Sancho signed for Man Utd as a star player for almost £100M. No comparison. Pulisic is just pretty shit and is only doing well as AC Milan are a pretty bad team compared to the best teams.
I think that is the main factor behind Messi and Ronaldo's dominance, mainly down to consistency. It wasn't just their unreal ability to put the team on their back, but also being to do it week after week with no significant drop in level. just gotta say tho, I love the way Zealand says Kevin De Bruyne 😂

I mean i would say he's closer than all the people saying De broin a A lot of accents struggle to essentially roll 3 r's together lol
"The Champions League Semi Final is bigger than any match that Man U has played in a long time." Shout it from the rooftops. Shout it from the mountains. Teach it to every small child and have them shout it. Everyone keep shouting it until we can finally, as a society, start evolving from having to care about mid-english teams when actual football is being played elsewhere.
He's paid 350k per week by said "mid-English" team. The second largest sports team in the world. People talk about United because they are like the Cowboys. He has THREE goals and 1 assist in EIGHTEEN matches btw. And as bad as United have been this season- if you put a full strength United against Dortmund or PSG(Not Bayern or Real, Inter or City) they'd win. Actual football. Beyond pretentious reactionary.
@@Padbot1 "if you put a full-strength United team against Dortmund or PSG--" Ok well, is that what's happening, or is a completely different set of circumstances that doesn't involve Man United happening? That's what "actual" football means, not a bunch of hypotheticals about a "full strength" United team or "what if they played Dortmund or PSG."
De Bruyne was not a bust before moving to the premier league. In 14/15 he got 10 goals and 21(!) assists in 34 bundesliga matches for Wolfsburg Even before that he was already class, making all possible starting lineups for Wolfsburg and Bremen with decent scorers as 20/21y old
I thought the same. The only reason he was a "bust" at Chelsea, was his lack of opportunity...
Yeah he also won the german cup with wolfsburg and hat a great run and goals in the run
Crazy to even mention de Bruyne in that context.
I think it's more in line with the English media and probably casual fan opinion at the time If you'd remember there was a '60 million pounds reject' headline when city bought him
I think you misunderstood. Chelsea signed him from Genk and he couldn't break through there first. Then he went to Bremen on loan and then to Wolfsburg form where Man City signed him. What is meant here is that the first time he went to the Prem, he couldn't make it. Not necessarily his fault or a big issue, as he was very young at the time and Chelsea didn't even gave him a proper opportunity, but it is not about his transfer to Man City but his stint at Chelsea.
fifa is the worst thing to happen to football fans. The idea that you can just assemble random players and make a functioning squad regardless of man management, player profiles, and overall strategy is just ridiculous. People expect players to play like video game characters and forgetting that they're people.

I see this mindset bleed over into FM too. People are surprised when a player who has worse attributes plays better than someone who has better attributes. We are rewriting the history here a bit, when he went back to Dortmund, sure he was starting games but he wasn't really performing that well and he was getting a lot of negative attention, its only recently when he has started to pick up his play. It's not a magical switch from him being bad to good but a lot of bad/mediocre games in bundesliga while being provided the opportunity to fail for him to perform eventually like this. Let's stop acting like he's been doing this all along in the bundesliga this season.
This is true
I think we should’ve dissolved man united as a club as soon as Di Maria managed to struggle there after he was motm in a Ucl final. I mean as soon as he left man united for psg he was amazing, he won a Copa American and a World Cup. Then played for Juventus and was great. Let’s just dissolved man united. They are stuck a decade ago, and there’s been numerous managerial changes, player changes. Everything. Yet they are basically trash.
I’d argue Maatsen is doing even better in BVB than Sancho is
He definitely is but tbf Sancho hasn't been fit the entire time. Already missed a few games with muscular issues.
Basically anyone that joins yanited forgets how to play football
Kai Havertz is another example. Looked like he lost the ability to play football at Chelsea and play phenomenal at Arsenal
Personally think it is match situation and set up as well as being in the right atmosphere and team, one can see them drop a 3/10 in the next domestic League match
To me theres 3 things to Jadon Sancho thing: 1. Is he capable of performing at 100% week in week out like the prem requires. How many top level clubs are there in the Bundesliga compared to the prem? It's ok if he can't perform at 100% every weekend for 90 mins but then it becomes a managerial issue and game management. (Which is what I believe happened with Pulisic and Weston M.) 2. Has United become such a meme of a club that almost every single player that goes there ends up "underperforming". They are the opposite to Brighton or Benfica 3. And the most crucial one is why is Zealand not running?
There aren't as many top level clubs in the prem as people claim, premier league teams this year have been absolutely dreadful with their level of football
I saw a report recently that ranked the Prem and Ligue 1 as far and away the most competitive leagues in Europe. This means that pretty much every game requires 100%.
As for Jason sancho. I think Zealand should temper the hype as although he had a great game he hasn't been doing that well for Dortmund so far. He's been ok but nothing close to pre-man utd form
@@seagullphilosopher2173 If that report lists Ligue1 as competetive, you already know it's BS. The league is monopolized, we all know it. Also: UEFA ranking has France placed behind Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga and Seria A.

Its VERY clear they didnt know wat type of player Sancho was b4 signing him
Sancho is good again because of the timeless Edins black magic xD But fr Terzic is the black mage of Germany
Nuno Mendez also helped Sancho on the wing with his awful performance. I think we need to focus more on that than on Sancho's stats. Mind you Yamal could have broken that record had he not been substituted against PSG in the second leg.
Zealand "Kevin de Browner" Shannon.
Man U is where footballer careers end. They don't need to do much to attain their mid table goals while earning the big bucks.
its a common thing with united + young winger circa wilfred zaha etc
Its not just dortmund, its the leagues. Bundesliga and dortmund have taken players back (Sahin, Kagawa, Sancho etc) and giving them the right environment to play instead of being a club’s asset not returning on investment. I truely believe a lot of Italian top players dont leave the league because although theres more money in england or fame in spain its a different game
Loans! Loans! Looooooooans!

the only defense that was played in this game was hakimi vs adeyami.
Mbappe? I don't know why his manager left him in the bench in the last 2 UCL games, because I didn't see him on the pitch in any of those games
Z just kinda invented the backstory of moneyball all over again^^ Oh, and regarding ManU: If so many players are under performing and the teams preformance as a whole could be at best described as "inconsistent", it might be, well, not the players actually, if you catch my drift.
Sancho hasn't been lighting up the world at Dortmund. Yes he's had a few spectacular moments here and there, but he's still just as inconsistent as he was in Man United. The Dortmund Coach himself called out Sancho near the beginning of the loan spell calling him "unrecognisable"
I agree, it was clearly the Glazers. Y'know, considering this team has been inconsistent for nearly a decade before ETH came in.

You could say the same thing about the managers. In the past 10 years there have been numerous of quality managers at United. Most of them have had overperforming seasons and underperforming seasons. Almost all tenures ends the same way, the players lose belief and stop applying themselves. I agree Ten Hag is making some odd choices, like starting Rashford even though it seems like he isnt trying his best most of the time, but that is the main problem for me. How come United always have a few players in the squad that just arent trying their best.
United scouted Antony while Ole was coach. They valued him 30 million tops. Why they decided a year later to pay 3 times that no-one knows.

Not at all. His attitude was a perfect representation of what's been wrong with our club for nearly a decade. The fact that a young man with an abundance of natural talent has the capacity to play well is not lost on us. It's also not the exclusive metric for measuring a professional footballer.

I don't know if Sancho was slacking of in trainings sessions, he denied it but it may well be true, reportedly he was late multiple times, so maybe it was that, or maybe there was just an animosity between him and Ten Hag.
