This spell of Wasim Akram clearly shows that Wasim was the most skillful Fast bowler ever. He could do things with the ball that no one else could dream of doing it. Wasim Akram is the most complete Fast Bowler I have ever seen and he is rightly known as the best Left Arm Fast Bowler of All Time. Great fast Bowling Vs BLACKCAPS

    • *Nowadays the ball is changed after 25th over that's why bowlers don't get an old ball which is used for 35-40 overs and that's the main reason that we don't see this type of reverse swing nowadays in the death overs ..... Said by Akash Chopra in a video*

Yes modern cricket is batting oriented, nevertheless most modern day software based cricket mappings & plannings are aimed to exploit batsmen not bowlers. The data at hand are collected & gets analysed to come up with plans against batsmen. The first instance of which was way back when Sachin went to his final England tour in which the techies mapped Sachin's style & came up with a plan which worked brilliantly; a practice that's been followed through even nowadays by every big team. So my point is, apart from the short boundaries, batting pitch & shorter format (which was a boon for spin bowlers but bad for bowling consistency which is the measure of a true great) it hasn't affected bowlers much. • Wasim Akram, the Inventor of Reverse Swing, revolutionized the art of fast bowling with his mastery of reverse swing. His unparalleled skill and finesse set him apart as one of the greatest fast bowlers in the history of cricket. Akram's ability to make the cricket ball talk, especially with the reverse swing, made him a nightmare for even the most accomplished batsmen of his era. In comparison to the current generation of fast bowlers, Wasim Akram's legacy stands as a testament to his exceptional talent. While today's bowlers are undoubtedly skilled, the sheer dominance and innovation exhibited by Akram make him a cut above. Batsmen like Virat Kohli may be enjoying success, but it's essential to acknowledge that they have not faced the formidable challenges that Akram's generation presented. Legends like Sachin Tendulkar, who faced the likes of Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar, Waqar Younis, Aqib Javed, Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath, and Brett Lee, showcased their prowess against some of the fiercest bowlers in the history of the game. This exposure to top-tier bowling undoubtedly adds an extra layer of accomplishment to their remarkable records. The current era may have its share of talented batsmen, but the absence of bowlers of Akram's caliber has undoubtedly made run-scoring seem easier. The quality of competition faced by modern-day batsmen cannot be compared to the challenges posed by the legendary bowlers of the past. In the fast-paced world of cricket, where records are broken and new stars emerge, the likelihood of witnessing another bowler of Wasim Akram's legendary stature seems remote. His impact on the game, especially with the invention and mastery of reverse swing, makes him an irreplaceable figure in the pantheon of cricketing greats. As we appreciate the current generation, let us also reflect on the unmatched brilliance and skill that Wasim Akram brought to the sport, leaving an indelible mark that continues to inspire and set the standard for fast bowlers around the world.

  • His quick arm and the ability to skid the ball off the pitch made even his 130kph deliveries feel like 150kph to the batsmen. This is quite evident here and also If you hear any batsmen talking about him, they think he bowled upto 150 while I think he was 140kph but felt like 150+. Legendary control and swing apart, Cricket never saw a quick arm bowler like him.

Just scary. Truly one of the great bowlers and great cricketers, and a gentleman as well. All round class act.

  • This is before the "2 new ball rule" in odi, the main reason it is reversing so much is because only one ball was used and that after 35 or 40 overs becomes soft and very rough. They introduced the 2 new balls just to make cricket easier for the batters. BUT still you need mad skills just to control reverse swing because you don't have any clue how much the ball might swing in the air...you can clearly see some of the balls just went straight that means Wasim knew exactly which ball will reverse and which will not and he is changing his length every ball ,that's why he is a legend. You see anybody can reverse the ball but not with the control like Wasim and waqar or even Shoaib had.
