How American Youth Coped During The Great Recession (Modern Warfare 2)

I'm aware that technically Modern Warfare 2 came out shortly after the Recession had ended, but the long term effects of the economic crash still lingered. Divorce rates in America were at an all time peak which is not surprising, given that monetary issues are a common root cause of divorce and tough economic times sharpen those problems. "One of the saddest under-reported consequences of recession is the different impacts it can have on young people. Grim as it is, recessions lead to higher rates of child malnutrition, and there is ample evidence that points to serious long-term consequences to such malnutrition, including stunted development and academic under-achievement."
Modern Warfare 2 was a game that got us through a difficult time, a distraction that gave us enjoyment in a world we had yet to fully understand. To me Modern Warfare 2 was more than a game, it was my religion. All day long during school all I could think about was MW2 , and when I got home I immediately hopped on with my friends. There was something magical about this particular game that no other CoD has been able to replicate since. It's hard to believe that over 10 years has passed since the release of MW2, I was only 12 years old at the time and I was constantly called an "annoying squeaker". Mean words never really bothered me as I was truly happy at the time. We're fortunate we never grew up with obnoxious douchetubers and a huge modern day emphasis on social media. We could have all easily forgot about Modern Warfare 2, but we didn't...because it was special.
I would like to thank TheKing0fHalo for coming up with the title "How American Youth Coped During The Great Recession" without him I would have never had the idea to create this video.
I'm also aware that this game did not only have an impact on American youth but also on the Australian and European youth.

Beating friends nuke count, settling who the best player is with no slight of hand pro quickscoping on rust, lobbing noobtubes off spawn on domination trying to beat shaggy123's fasted nuke that was faked but we didn't care, pumping people with pre patch akimbo model 1887's on mw2. Destroying lobbies on blackops 1's nuketown with a full squad using blackbird, dogs, chopper gunner trying to get over 100 kills playing domination or demolition and last but not least it was an honor talking shit about ur mother and sister while pulling all-nighters. • @@diznutz5110You missed the point. When someone brings up "OG COD" no one is talking about cod 1 & 2 and if you were a "real OG" you should be able to recognize that. They technically come prior in the series so sure they're older but COD2 wasn't even on PS2 and the first COD had bad multiplayer on consoles and this video is literally about how cod multiplayer got people through a shitty time. Your comment is irrelevant in many aspects. Most people started playing during COD4-MW2 because it had the best multiplayer to date and the games were on every system. If you owned a PS2 COD 1/2 weren't released on it so those titles don't even apply as "og" to that system. Kinda sounds like you want internet attention for being a Cod "OG" since apparently being an og at anything makes kids think your cool.

But the joke was a jab at OPs comment talking about everyone having autism in 2009. After this year when FaceBook gained massive social popularity Anti-vaccine mothers started coming out of the woodwork to spread misinformation about how these helpful vaccines are the cause of autism. I made the joke multilayered with the “bringing balance back to the chromosomes” since we normally have 46 of them and most mental disabilities have some missing with an odd number such as Down Syndrome and whatnot.

I remember sneaking in my basement at 1am after my parents went to bed to play. A few times my dad would come down and say, "TUEN THAT OFF!". Sometimes I would hear him coming downstairs and would run over and turn off the TV screen in time. Man, those were simple times.
