Don’t want all that evidence open like that cause it can taint jury pools. That’s why police can and usually do edit videos to public. Note it’s illegal to not give the raw footage to a court. • @@65cj55 I don't know why you're coming to the defense of police censorship, it's almost like you want police departments to be able to cover up shootings and have full control of the narrative. Additionally you're just not correct that they don't show graphic incidents. Police Activity shows whatever is released by the department, they add no censorship of their own. When videos on Police Activity are censored, it's done so by the agency that released the footage, not by the channel. A recent NYPD shooting video contained uncensored images of the dead guy's head with gunshot wounds in it. A somewhat less recent USPP shooting video contained uncensored video of bullets impacting the suspect at close range. Most other videos have blood and gore censored by the department, but the shooting and the suspect's actions during the shooting (AKA the important part) are certainly shown. For all we know, this guy was shot in the back of the head by multiple officers as he ran away, the video does literally 0 to prove otherwise. To the contrary, the censorship of even the suspect's actions leading up to the shooting generates suspicion of a coverup. Midwest Safety's channel owner may line their own pockets with ad revenue, but that comes at the expense of viewers like me that go to Police Activity as one of the last standing bastions of police transparency and accountability on KZhead. I'm only one viewer, but the subscriber difference between the two channels indicates that at least 5 million other people feel the same way as me.

  • Quit trashing the dispatcher here, guys. We have the hindsight to comment about her ability to communicate and retain the sense of urgency of the situation. She isn’t some telepathic expert who could visualize everything that’s happening elsewhere but in front of her own eyes! Let’s give her some credit, shall we? I don’t think majority of people can handle this type of pressure and keep it together like the majority of these dispatchers (I’ve heard so much worse!). They do have to be of a certain temperament (calm and collected under pressure to not freak out the caller and extract as much information as they can from the call) and detail-oriented in order to take down useful information in a short span of time to relay to the LEO as detailed as possible. They don’t have it easy! So please be understanding of what they do.

    • When all we get is a transcript read back by a voice actor, what's missing (compared to a recording) is the speed the caller was speaking, how breathless they may have been, how bad the audio might be due to background noise and/or poor cell signal. I have never seen a person shot dead, but if I did I bet my phone etiquette about talking slowly / clearly to be heard through the airwaves might be completely forgotten with the stress of it all.

Include the 911 audio instead of a transcript as this was intentionally chopped up and I’m not quite sure why. It’s over dramatized by the actors for one, did the 911 operator say something wrong or insinuate the wrong race? That’s what it seems like with the correction by the caller. Don’t do this format again. Just include the 911 audio.
