Hello, and welcome to VanHornArts!
This is my process of turning mason jar lids!
these can't be used for actual canning, but they work very well for storing dried herbs and whatnot.
Hope you enjoy the video!

If you're interested, these wooden lids (plus more!) will be available soon on my Etsy Shop here: vanhornarts.etsy.com
Lovely!
Thank you!
Im gonna try this one for sure. A little carving on top from the mini CNC will make them pop.
Oh awesome! CNC work will definitely be a nice touch
Very nice. Great project. Might give it a try.
Thanks!
Nice, but they are just covers for the existing lids.
Why didn’t you cut threads inside the lid ?
I don't actually know how to😅 I think there is a jig or accessory for the lathe that let's you cut threads, but I don't have one
I don’t know either but I have seen it done. They call it thread chasing. That would make an interesting video for you. Actually the way you do it might be more practical so I’ll try it first.
There is often a seal in the lid, this way you preserve the seal. Then you can call it a lid cap or whatever you want. 😁 It's still a good solution to cover a boring and ugly lid. 👍
