His technique has always been clumsy, he's never been able to dribble and he doesn't give a toss about defending. He's quite possibly the most overrated footballer in the history of the sport, he runs it close with that other wasteful, clumsy lemon Pogba. • As a footballer earning £350K per week, your skills should be showcased on the pitch, not through late-night tweets. To clarify, his brother manages his social media accounts, so some posts may not be directly from him. However, the fact that he hasn’t taken them down is causing a rift among the fanbase. The frustration is heightened because of his performance this season compared to the last. Last season, he was exceptional, arguably his best season to date. This season, however, his performance has dipped, with only 7 goals and 5 assists in 31 games. His on-field actions are also causing issues. We struggle to maintain possession in our opponent’s half because he often loses the ball. What’s more infuriating is his lack of urgency in such situations, often seen jogging back as if unbothered. It’s frustrating to watch a player of his caliber underperform like this. Recently, his gesture of throwing his hands in the air during a game has also drawn criticism. Fans aren’t hurling abuse at him, but they are understandably upset. As our highest-paid player, they expect him to perform, especially in crucial matches like the one against Coventry. His current form is far from what we know he’s capable of, and that’s why the fans are angry.

He used to chase for the ball everywhere whether it’s in his own half or the opponent’s. Now, the involvement in the goal scoring area is still the same but his work rate, passion for football has drastically went down. After several years of first team football I’m sick of his inconsistency, attitude, lack of professionality, and being more involved in social media like some of the his problematic peers like Pogba, Lingard, Lukaku, and now Sancho. Whether that be a personal reason, or a club reason, we can't really know for certain. I can understand how the mess that is Man United, can affect anyone negatively, and maybe he feels the "hate" is unfair. But he only seem to care about himself, at least on the pitch. Maybe that's a reflection of the club, but he's got no one else to blame for his own performance and constant need of approval. He needs to take responsibility.

They'd even love him for it and he'd become a cult hero. But when you stop trying and stop running and then complain that you're getting shit while being paid millions, the average fan isn't going to put up with that - and why should they? The guy has stopped trying so is no longer doing everything he can to help the team win. Which fan wants a player like that playing for their team? As for me? • The problem with Marcus Rashford is ... well multitude. But the biggest issue imo is this. Rashford isn't half as good as alot of people seem to think he is, including himself. His pretty quick. Thats about it. His work rate is appalling, his decision making is awful. The reason he goes through these purple patches and then famines is because he just takes the high risk gamble every, single, time. And yeah, sometimes you hit a hot streak and that machine keeps coming up 7's and you end up with a period like last season where he looks amazing. But then you hit long losing streaks too. He shouldn't be captain because his a far worse influence then Fernandez. Sure, Bruno is petulant, but so is Rashford. Bruno at least puts a shift in. People seem to think his this generational talent, a potential thats through the roof. His... not. Thats never been the case. His the same player now that his always been. Only now his been found out and so has the team as a whole. As long as you don't leave space in behind, United have absolutely zero attacking threat. So everyone either plays deep against them, or is good enough to push up and ensure they can't be caught on the counter. Leave Rashford a tiny amount of space on the inside, not enough for him to exploit but a tiny bit and he will cut inside, realise he can't beat the man and shoot from 30 yards and i back my keeper to keep that out even if he does manage to hit in on target. So yeah. Rashford could be a good player, maybe a very good player... if he actually put in work on the pitch. But he acts like his Prime Ronaldo, without the ability to back it up. He offers nothing defensively, nothing in build up. And his not a kid. People love to talk about him like his 22 or 23. His 27, his in his prime.

  • It’s great that he spoke out and is telling fans to stop abusing him, but at the same time, Marcus Rashford shouldn’t be talking. During a time where you’ve been out of form all season especially with the amount of money you’re on; the last place you’d want to go is social media where you’ll get even more criticism than what you’ve gotten all season. He needs to do his talking on the pitch not on social media. Fans are way too reactionary due to the growing power of these social media platforms, but when you’re on 350k a week and have only scored 7 goals in the premier league and you’re seen as one of the most talented players in English football, there’s a right for people to criticize him. Beyond his lack of statistical output, he’s done nothing all season and when you don’t play well, you’re going to get criticized and any player with common sense knows that. With how bad he’s been all season, he’d even be lucky to even make the England squad for the EUROs because if a guy like Raheem Sterling can no longer get in the national team, how is an out of form Rashford keep getting picked. The guy needs to spend more time trying to do something on the field rather than hitting back on social media and going to nightclubs because he’s also been under scrutiny for his off field behavior as well.

  • One player that should have been mentioned in the captain talk is Scott McTominay. He does what exactly what you said Rashford doesn’t. Puts a shift in. I think the Walcott comparison is insulting to Theo. Theo wasn’t a goal scorer but he played for his Arsenal shirt. Injuries was his biggest problem. Finally, the thing that impressed me at Man United is Harry Maguire. I gained a new found respect for him after the Fa semi final because he was the only one who didn’t drop his head. Played for the shirt

  • I hate it when we lose, but I can understand bad patches could come; however, what I hate most is not trying enough. Look at Rasmus Hojlund. I can see he is not scoring that much. However, You will always see him running, creating space for others in the final third. Shooting skills can be trained, the mentality that we need most to earn respect. And with that intensity and mentality, Martinez had became the the fans favourite in just one season.

  • Sometimes you're just in a bad form and nothing goes your way. It happens. It happens to the Messis and Ronaldos of the world and it's really not that big of a deal. But when you refuse to make an effort, there's absolutely no excuse. And you can't blame the fans for not being on your side. I can think of Nico Schlotterbeck at Borussia Dortmund. He sometimes puts his foot wrong or makes dumb mistakes but the fans are willing to let it pass because one, he's still young for a defender and you can see him develop with time and two he just shows so much passion and effort that you can't help but love him and it makes you twice as happy when he has a good game. For contrast, his best friend, Karim Adeyemi is what I like to call 'a United player'. No doubt much more talented than Schlotti gave the fans a lot of joy in the second half of last season scoring crazy goals, becoming the fastest player in the Bundesliga history and THAT solo goal against Chelsea made me scream on the top of my lungs in a bar. But as I mentioned, he's a United player in disguise, so you can probably guess what the problem is. Rashford should just take a hard look at himself. Or maybe just take the money and shut up

A player the made a debut at a young age and scored some very important goals, but watching the rest of their game, did they have enough? I have thought (and hoped) he’s proving me wrong at times but so far has then always returned to what I see as his baseline. At this point I am happier to see him go than stay.

  • I think with the 2 losses in his family occurring Rashy had that mentally affect him and could have bled into how he prepares for matches, now that alone would be fine as with enough time he could get back to his routine he had last season but paired with news outlets, social media, the whole team going through bad form and then watching his teammates find their form which he has yet to find I can imagine that would absolutely crush the guys confidence. Rashy like you said feels like a player who has a bit of ego suiting a Red but that's a double edged sword, when that confidence is down the ego follows suit and decisions that would previously be instinct would now become difficult to consider on a player who considers themself lower in ability to before and I think that's what we're seeing now. He was able to link up with martial and wan-bissaka well under Ole and was the attacking outlet last season so the fundamentals should be there but like Havertz and even more locally Hojlund they all run on confidence (Hojlund wouldn't do the chest flick goal before his run of form if he wasn't brimming with confidence). With tracking back I think a big thing I consider is that Rashy might be specifically told to stay in position, with Bruno being a player who loves to cut lines with a long ball Rashy with his pace is one of the best to make use of those balls (I remember seeing a stat saying Rashy makes a lot of sprints per game). No other player in the current starting 11 has the pace that Rashy has imo and so him staying up front keeps him useful for counterattacks like how he used to play under Ole. TLDR: Rashy is a confidence player who's hasn't benefitted from social media nor family issues killing his confidence and a lot of his pressing complaints may be taken away considering the fact that he may be told to stay high to make use of counterattacks

He's a decent player no doubt & can be wonderful on his day but there's no consistency so if Utd want to stay as they are, then sure, keep him. However, if they want to actually compete for the top again, he's simply not good enough. No more successful clubs will be interested in signing him if he wants to leave, that's for sure.

  • As an Arsenal fan, one of the reasons I like Saka as a player is not only because of his skills, goals, or assists but also because of his work rate for tracking back and winning tackles sometimes matter more than goals. I know that Fc24 as a game is sometimes incorrect and not a good source for facts but you have to do something well to get 70 defending as a right winger on the fut birthday card. its also the same reason I like Havertz, even if he misses shots and goal opportunities he still tracks back and defends and puts in that work ethic. even defenders such as white come forward to help the team attack.I don't see that kind of work ethic in Rashford . I even see that in Anthony but, not Rashford and I think he should stop being lazy and step up his work ethic. that's all I got to say.

  • I think the issue with Rashford isnt 100% it fault but at the same time i dont think he is clear of any fingers being pointed at him, his case is one where he as Micah would say "burst onto the scene" from thr U21s at a young age and had all this dynamism and bravery and in some ways for young players the cheek to try something that other players dont think of. He was a breath of fresh air for United as they were still getting over the fact Fergie wasnt a manager anymore and the fact that most united fans at first wanted him to be a out and out number 9 calling for Jose to play him there for the longest time and then under Ole he seemed to do better on the wing cutting in and now hes just inconsistent as well as seems more interested in off the field activities than on the field, i remember when he was doing the kids school dinners thing nobody cared as much because he was performing on the field but i knew as soon as he wasn't performing he'd start to have people asking if he was fully focused on playing. I'm 99% he broke up with his fiance who he was engaged to and that has seemed to spiral into this current period of him being inconsistent on the field like going out clubbing and stuff like that. Anyway this might sound bad but i mean well i feel like hed benefit from going to maybe a club like PSG not only would he be able to start with a clean slate but i also think it would take him away from the scrutiny of the british media and in term maybe refocus him. Because he seems like the type of person who notices what people talk about him and question his loyalty to united which i think is funny since he grew up in the club from academy to first team and sometimes academy products have too much loyalty towards the club in certain instances but they love their club even if it means their career is effected

He’s our best player on the counter, and they want him to be as high as possible for when we do transition quickly. Yes he hasn’t been great this year, but a large reason for that is because he is playing through injury and has been for pretty much the whole season.

Reason why Bruno is captain is because he shows passion and work rate even when he isn’t playing his best game. There’s been one single game this season where I think he showed that he CAN put in the effort, and it was City at home on the back of everyone questioning his commitment. It shouldn’t take people criticizing you to simply give it your all. One of the most frustrating players to watch this season
