It happened before with the band called Rome. The start was this song, now I am searching information about Faroe Islands and putting it on my absolute must bucket list. I went so nuts, at the point where I am planning to learn the language too, one day. I don't think I've ever heard anything more beautiful. It's like elvish.

It doesn't make sense because we amwas already diverse 200 years ago, 800 years ago and so on.. So basically it's not culture they are talking about, because that is what we have and lot of it, we aren't diverse enough in color, oddly enough we are the racist's.

It's a beautiful way to learn another language. That's the way i started learning Spanish once upon a time when living there..just singing along to their beautiful music. • @Jason Larsen I´m swedish and have no problem reading both norweigan and danish. Some words are unique to our languages but usually pretty easy to figure out what they mean. A bit more tricky is that a few words are spelled the same but have a completely different meaning in our languages. Rolig means fun i swedish but calm in danish for instance. When it comes to spoken language Norweigan is very easy for me to understand. The intonation is a bit different but it almost feels like a dialect of the same language. Spoken danish is harder for me. The intonation feels more different and they also have a tendency to not pronounce the whole words. In the area around Copenhagen they speak a pretty "clean" version that I usually understand, and vice versa. But in other parts of Denmark I sometimes have to resort to english. I recently went to Iceland and it was fascinating on so many levels. The language feels very familiar - like you really should understand what they are saying but don´t. Shorter things like road signs and menus I could usually figure out, but understanding a longer text like a newspaper-article was hard.

You are Gilgamesh. Mythology is a thought simulation so we can explore different aspects of ourselves. Aspects that are too painful to explore in reality. Or impossible. Let Icarus try the wings. Let us learn from his mistakes from the safety of our living room. In the end, the lesson we learned is what matters. If Icarus was a real person or not..... not so much.

    • Who cares? I do. I care if people tread religion as a tool for mental development, or if they are taking it literally. This is why i asked if he/she believes in the actual, physical existence of Odin. And no, we are not all Jesus. The abrahamitic religions are very much supposed to be understood in a most literal way, which i consider problematic. It would be really weird to me if one discards one silly god figure, just to exchange it for another .. a little bit like Leah Remini, who left Scientology, only to "find" Christianity ..

    • @@nirou6054 Religion IS a tool for mental (and social) development. Mythology is mythology. And every country in the world has one. I am from Greece, so we have a rich mythology also. But from the moment you take the "mental step" and you decide to see it as "reality", and turn mythology into religion, then your reasons are social. Democracy vs Theocracy. Human rights vs Divine Plans.... But this is not mythology's fault. It is the view of the individual. Christ, Zeus, Odin, Xenu..... it doesnt matter. You "follow" whoever agrees with the beliefs that you already have. All these guys are the personifications of the ideas that you already have. But if you like democracy, humanitarianism and human rights, you dont need to hide behind some "holy guy". If i am misogynistic, i will find the idea of the woman made as a servant of man, "from his rib", nice and "true". If i am not, i will find the idea stupid, and i will move on

      @knismo5842@knismo58424 жыл бұрын
    • @@nirou6054 ultimately religions were invented partially as a tool through which various peoples understood the world, as a tool to maintain a hierarchy, as a tool to help support people in life, etc. Religions have a purpose and whether one likes it or not they fulfill a specific niche that is important for humans and almost impossible to avoid. If that niche is not filled by say Christianity or paganism, then it will be filled with something else. Sometimes it can be replaced with something good such as humanism, sometimes it can be replaced with something bad like fascism. Ultimately one "faith" will triumph and become dominant, we must all hope that it is not to the detriment of the individual. Fundamentally religions such as the old pagan ones and Christianity serve as a stabilising mechanism. There may be something more than what we experience here on earth, but no religion has any way of knowing what that is, and thus they must have another purpose based on how prevalent they are.

  • This is the most unique and beautiful piece I have heard in a long time. I don't want to come off as pretentious but the way it captures the calm of the mist/fog and the emotional intensity of being lost and hunted in it really speaks to my love for contrasts. A great analogy for life itself as a human - lost, and hunted by the realization of the utter and complete meaninglessness of existence. Darkness is the emptiness, emptiness is understanding. Also, kittens. Thank you.

Ich laufe im Nebel Warst du jemals so wandern wie ich In der grauenvollen Totenstille? Hast du die Straßenlichter gesehen Die die Stadt beleuchten? Hast du gesehen was sie dort taten? Weißt du wie die Dinge waren? Hat jemals jemand nach mir gesucht? Freund, Freund kannst du mich sehen? Ich laufe im Nebel Warst du jemals so wandern wie ich In der grauenvollen Totenstille? • @@jakesanchez6621 anytime someone starts a sentence off with I don't mean any offense, everyone knows they absolutely do. You posted to be a douche and make yourself feel better and draw attention to yourself. 👏 Am I offended? No.... I'm laughing because your comment is so ignorant it's funny. Thanks Jake!

    • @@jakesanchez6621 I think I know what you mean. There are far too many people who broadcast their inner spiritual lives like they announce their recent Starbucks coffee purchase. OTOH, the mainstream religious and scientific outlooks on life have made it challenging for those of us who have spiritual paths that don't fully align with what's considered orthodox or acceptable. So some people overcompensate by trying to make non-mainstream spiritual paths trendy by talking about their own path all the time. And yeah, it does tend to be a pattern amongst the Caucasian/white demographic to a point where I have to roll my eyes. It's kind of embarrassing, because such talk seems to cheapen the walk. I feel the same way about mainstream religion. If you have particular leanings, that's fine. Just quit yammering about it and let what you do speak for itself. But then, that's my view.

    • @@a.katherinesuetterlin3028 people like this only talk loudly about their spirituality because they're desperately hoping for someone to validate their experiences, usually due to a non-spiritual upbringing.

    • @@jakesanchez6621 Yeah, that's very true. I know I went through a phase like that in the beginning, where I wanted others to talk to, to make sure I wasn't the only one. And that was me transitioning from Xian to what I am now. But I also know that not everyone is into the same stuff I'm into, and sometimes, ya gotta walk parts of your path alone, to really understand yourself better. And how can you do that if you're constantly seeking external validation? Sometimes "hermit mode" is the best way to learn.

  • I just love this music. It hit me deep into my heart.I don’t know why I have this feelings when I’m listening the norse folk as I don’t have any connections with the Scandinavians. It’s pure magic!!!🖤

  • This music is liquid courage pumped through my ears into my veins. Never before have I experienced how listening to these magical sounds immediately expanded my chest, calmed my breathing, and tightened my spine. The fear disappeared for some time. Thank you for this.
