    • As a teacher what have you done professionally to prepare yourself for this? Have you lobbied for training and arming volunteers at your school? After all these shooters aren't looking for a gunfight they're looking for fame. Have you bothered to take a stop the bleed class? Maybe a class could be put on for faculty and staff at the school after hours. How many tourniquets are at your school? Has anybody practiced with those. I mean it doesn't take an active shooter for a student to have an arterial bleed. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Several years ago I took an active shooter course in Nashville Tennessee and what I learned was if your response to an active shooter event is to call 911 expect between 20 and 30 casualties. I also learned most people killed in an active shooter event are shot in their hiding place or where they "locked down" This information comes from a study of the history of active shooter events since 1999 Finally what I learned was that the school lockdowns which are so popular with school districts around the country always work just fine until a shooter actually shows up Run fight hide

    • The worst part is the statistics. I did some calculations and found something scary: You have about a 12% chance of experiencing a school shooting in your lifetime, and about 1.5% per year. This is if you live in God blessed country of the US of A Many people compare the odds of a shooter to the odds of winning the lottery. This should put it into perspective. Your odds of going through a school shooting in your life is the same as rolling 8 dice and getting the number 6 on all. Winning the lottery is like rolling 2 300,000 sided die and getting 6 on both.

February 14, 2018, Parkland high school shooting, 17 killed, 17 injuries (XXXTENTACION's song called 'Hope' is about this shooting, and if you really listen to the lyrics, it's heart wrenching). • teach your children to be kind to EVERYONE. this can also prevent a school shooting as alot of times its a student that has been bullied.

  • My daughter who is 18 now, came home at 5 years old telling me how they were told to hide from shooter's.. i was so sad, proud of the school, baffled by the fact that they needed to teach this, heartbroken... I'm telling you.. after she explained what to do to me..i was in tears thinking what has our world come to... we never had to worry about this when i was in school... we were worried about fire, and severe storms.. my god...

  • I always knew they didn't care about us. That they'll watch us all bleed out and be the one to cause the wound without a second thought. But these are KIDS. CHILDREN. There are no words to describe how sickening, surreal, disturbing, and heartbreaking this is. I cannot believe we've reached this point.
