    • @wobbly nostrils I had to google if this was true...apparently, it's 50% less(up to 68%) compared to gasoline engine, including the batteries. Not bad really but it does cost a lot more money for a country to properly provide power if and when everyone converts to EV. iirc there was a talk about this in Australia, if more people use EV, it'll be a blackout, the generators couldn't handle the load.

      @azimpetra@azimpetra4 жыл бұрын
    • @@rideroll9609 I'm talking about the pollution inside the cities. Petrol and diesel engines are constantly putting out pollution whilst running, which causes smog etc in big cities. Of course there is pollution in the production of them, but it's no where near as bad as oil and gas production as well as pollution from petrol and diesel cars.

      @joecramp2987@joecramp29874 жыл бұрын
    • @wobbly nostrils it's still more efficient than burning petrol and diesel in each individual vehicle. Within the coming years we'll need to switch to non polluting energy sources like geothermal, wind, and solar power anyway. Using EVs will be the norm

The mini moto ones, the Harley cruisers, golf buggy ones, mini R1 type, and the 2 stroke ones weren't too bad, usually if they worked out of the box they were OK, but we stopped selling 4 stroke because they were too hit and miss back then, this is 12 years ago. We had one that blew up on a demo, one came missing internal parts, one was just dead slow, but we made a lot of money off them. We were one of the first to sell time and one bike cost us around $200AUD, we were selling the choppers for $1200 and we sold 6 in one month. We also had spares and I would service and repair the bikes and most we gave 12mo warranty with also. Best were the PW50 clones. They cost $400, we sold them at $695. Parents would come in and say they're too dear, so we sent them to Yamaha, a genuine PW50 was around $3000 then, so guess what they bought. It was a good little earner. But like everything else, the guys came along that would sell them for next to give away prices and all of a sudden there is 25 'dealers' competing to sell them and make $100.

    • BackWheelBandits 2.0 yeah I haven’t done it for years. I know a bit about the PW clones, I worked for a Yamaha dealership and another dealer took a PW50 and I think a RT110 to China and asked about clones. They pulled both bikes down and gave them prices for exact copies. They could buy for all different prices, from about $150 to $750 from memory. They said the $750 price would be an exact replica to the same quality as that bike and you’d be hard pressed to pick them apart. China work to a dollar price, you give them a Rolex and they can copy it and give you a shitty one for $20 but for $500 they’ll make an exact replica.

Most roads are 40kmh with country roads 60 or 80 if lucky. In summary it's a waste of time having a big bike in China as you can only use about 1/4 of it without speeding. Plus Chinese drivers are terrible and the roads aren't that good outside major cities. I've seen logs , wheels, rocks just left in the middle of roads for days before they've been cleaned up
